>> it depends what you're coming off. right now we are left of center country because there is some faith in the government's ability to deal with the pandemic. the vaccine rollout was largely successful in most of the country. right now people are looking for solutions. lives have been disrupted and so forth. people right now see benefits coming to them, 60% of the country in 2020 paid no income tax. stuart: i left of center country? excuse me? are we left of center? >> right now we are. after all this inflation and bills come due and so forth we will move back to the right. america is a moderate police. the two political parties are not and pull them in each direction. in the end we will gravitate to right of center but at the moment there is some receptivity to doing more with the government. stuart: talk about coin base

which says the government should create a regulatory agency for cryptos. if we don't it will put other countries ahead of us. what do you say to crypto regulation? >> we need to look at the motivation of these exchanges. they want regulation to legitimate size their products and ensure their legality. they want an independent agency separate from the securities and exchange commission that understands what they do. not clear that the sec does but if they get a separate agency it becomes an advocate for them because it owes their existence to them so they want both legitimacy and a separate agency to advocate for them. that's not necessarily good for the country. we really should have a digital currency by now but folks who are most resistant to that are the bank regulators. mister powell doesn't want to jeopardize the deposit base of

and we have worker shortages, 6.5 million americans unemployed, we really have to address the workforce issues. stuart: i'm reading between the lines and doesn't sound like you're confident the supply chain problem will be fixed in time for the holidays and bear in mind president biden says if you guys in the private-sector, if you can't fix this he's going to call you out and blame you, what do you feel about that? >> in terms of holiday season that they've been planning for since the beginning of the pandemic. we've been watching consumer behavior, members have seen how consumer spending changed and evolved over the course of the past 20 months but holiday season is a retailers plan for every year years in advance. our members feel good about the ability to have things they need in stock at the prices
