say it unvaccinated people transmitting this when that is not true. i know so many people close to me had the virus and fully vaccinated and got the virus again so why is it breaking through like that? >> that is correct what you said. it transmitting among not just the unvaccinated but the vaccinated because of the mutations allowing it to do that. omicron is different and re- infecting people. if you've been vaccinated or had another variant, chances are it will be mild but tell that to someone who has it, it doesn't feel mild. if there's good news here, in the wake of omicron, you're making antibodies not just against omicron but other variant which is why scientists may be right, it may leave a long path of immunity in its wake that could bring this to a situation where we don't have this roaring pandemic, i think

it will take about a month, i think vaccines help but i think it will create immunity and it is milder than other variant unless you have it, then it doesn't feel mild. kennedy: but that is good news fewer people are hospitalized and fewer people are admitted to icus, more people are getting sick and that is a bright side we could be moving from a pandemic to an end dammit it's curious how it's happening so quickly so that is nice to believe, i want to believe that, i hope that's true and we resume normal life within two months but is there another variant working? >> there's definitely going to be another variant because of how many people in the world are not vaccinated but looks like we are creating antibodies that may give us protection from one more historical peace is this is how the 1918 pandemic probably

ended, we didn't have vaccines in those days, viruses want to survive and tend to mutate successfully in directions that get more transmissible this is just wild if you think it 500,000 cases a day, it's probably more like 2 million cases a day because of the uncounted cases and if you multiply that by 30 days, you'd end up with between 60 -- 100 million cases why we head toward immunity here. it's a big cost debate because people are going to the hospital and still die but we are in retrospect, if you have it, you get a super booster effect from having. that plus the vaccine, i think it is the path out. kennedy: so why doesn't that enter the conversation in terms of improving your health? so when the state issues vaccine mandates, they don't account for natural immunity which we seem to have a lot more of with the omicron variant than with delta or the original so if you've had

covid and recovered, why can't you show a positive covid test along with vaccines you've had? why the need for endless boosting? >> you can in israel and the european union. here it rigidity and hysteria and superimposed fear mongering. i do agree with your having had it should count as much of a vaccine and in israel it six months of immunity for a green pass or testing and set. that flexibility is what we need to make people less fearful and panicked and make you feel like it's less political. doubling down, the vaccine is terrific but doubling down on it by insisting on more and more and more vaccines while having no other tools in your toolkit, where other therapeutics? paxlovid, nobody has it. the monoclonal test, we don't have them. are they going to come by postal

reacting to changing situations and guidance from the cdc and i know you are a big critic, american science medical community here handling of covid but people do listen to the state government listens to the federal government and the federal government says we have a different standard than we did then, airlines right now are pushing the government to reduce the time people are quarantined and it led people to say you let the corporations dictate what's coming out, the government says okay, at the end of the five days instead of previous temperament you have to have a negative test so it's like we are flying on an airplane are trying to fix because we don't know all that's going on but people are trying their best to respond. bless hypocrisy and simply say we don't know how to deal with the shortage of healthcare workers. kennedy: so what about medical freedom? wonders that enter the

do you because if he did do these horrible things, we want him to pay so let's look at the language. in her complaint she references epstein's peers, including politicians, academia and specifically royalty did these horrible things so who is she referring to? if we are being honest, you know she's referring to prince andrew so how then does a court not think that was the basis of the bargain included in the $500,000 settlement? kennedy: she's also asking for his medical records because he had a horribly botched interview on british television where he said i've never met the girl, the picture was photoshopped, the person's hand on the picture is read and clearly when you're taking pictures and developing them back in the day when he was allegedly taking advantage of a teen girl would have the color differences and he said he has a

dismissed, what you think will happen there? >> i was hoping he wouldn't ask me because i've discussed it with my peers and none of us can agree. we think the plain language in the agreement which courts generally like to enforce, you came up with this agreement, let's honor the language so you think the court would say okay, we're cutting them loose because it contemplated but i think also i could see the judge doing the opposite stuff i had to guess, i would say the judge does not dismiss the case. kennedy: where do we go from there? >> discovery, trial, demands for the records you discussed, everywhere he doesn't want to go which is why than i could see a settlement being reached so this doesn't become any more public than a house. kennedy: and i'm sure the queen is pushing for that because it's already been very damaging and embarrassing for the royal

vice president kamala harris doesn't just batter her job, she also doesn't care if you know it. last week on cbs, she was asked about inflation, a topic that's literally on everyone's mind right now and as usual, she appeared completely and utterly unprepared. watch. >> wasn't wrong to consider inflation transitory? the price hikes seemed like they are going to be with us for a while. >> we have to address the fact that we got to deal with the fact that folks are paying for gas and groceries and need solutions so let's talk about that short-term solution including what we need to do around the supply chain so we went to the ports of los

ned, what are some of the root causes of inflation? >> well as the great milton friedman says, inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon obviously vice president harris, she's talking about the price of goods, she doesn't understand that when inflation do to complete flash on our economy flush with this money and out-of-control spending but even if she did understand that, you think this administration's vice president could have an honest conversation about inflation? she's supportive the american rescue plan 1.9 trillion spending past last spring that larry summers warned will cause inflation and now she's supporting the 3 trillion or 4 trillion or 5 trillion whatever it is, build back better which would be jet fuel on inflation so even if she understood the causes of inflation, i don't think you can have anyone from this administration be honest

about what caused it and how we address it. kennedy: so why is it so hard for her to read briefs on things so critically important to americans lives? >> she should treat her brief and if she didn't, she is wrong although i think that's now sort of standard, everybody says they read in the newspaper kamala harris is criticized for not reading her briefs and criticizing her staff so i don't know if that's true or not but let's say in this case all she had to offer was words because it didn't make much sense, she touched on real issues in regard to inflation, the supply chain is backed up and things are in short supply and prices there will go up as a function of that but i think the bigger issue for her, she's lost a lot of staff, she needs to get it together and improve her public persona as someone who is a problem solver. you mentioned the immigration issue, she's got a lot of tough

things on her plate and right now she's coming across as someone who's weigh-in over her head. kennedy: i agree and i want the country to succeed and people before things. i want businesses to thrive and kids to be in school, i want all of those things and i don't wish for her to fail but it makes me nervous every time she opens her mouth, olivia. what ned said, i don't think there is a way you can get yourself out of this or the administration because this administration is based on spending a lot of money to solve problems which doesn't always alleviate that. >> exactly. like you said, i don't want her to fail either, we are on this sinking ship and its burning, i don't want to be here and you don't want to be here, we want our captain to know what they are doing so when she decided to answer like that, in the

it time to hold the state department accountable for things like afghanistan? >> yes but we live in a social media age, come on. you think back to the politicians, we know bill clinton was a saxophone player and george w. bush loved trail bike riding and barack obama put out his playlist and pick for the basketball ncaa's you know -- march madness stop. this is how politicians humanize themselves in the social media age and to me, i don't get it but this is how politicians -- they see in the polls their numbers go up when they do stuff like this. kennedy: his poll numbers won't go up because he's not good at being secretary of state, he should have resigned after the afghanistan withdrawal and the number of americans put in peril at the hands of the taliban there so olivia, is this what we

need? someone to make tik tok videos to improve america's foreign-policy standing? >> i understand every politician wants to become a social media influence or appeal to the young folk but as a member of generation z myself, i can say i'm not looking for spotify playlist, that's not why go to twitter for or to check the website for the state department for, i'd like to know things including but not limited to how we plan to get americans out of afghanistan like mentioned before, i go to the state department page to get information on foreign-policy and what america is doing, not necessarily politicians spotify playlist. kennedy: and unserious person and very serious times, wouldn't you rather the state department take seriously military relationship between russia and china? >> exactly, there are so many issues. russia and china, russia by itself, china by itself and you want to tweak this out eight

times. i think one of the biggest lies of the 2020 campaign season among many lines was somehow the biden administration would be a serious competent administration all i'm saying is on seriousness and incompetence whether with harris or lincoln. with this afghanistan withdrawal, which would think these people would resign out of shame but i don't think they have got so they are not resigning but it would be nice to have adults show up again so we can have people in charge we trust to take these issues seriously because if we are not serious about china, they are going to displace us on the international stage and be the epicenter of the world economy and everything else but we have the secretary of state tweeting out eight times his spotify list, deeply unserious and frightening when it comes to national security issues. kennedy: and ned makes good points, there were a lot of people took issue with president trump being obsessed with

resident xi jinping and not going hard enough on china and criticized for some tariffs but i want to see this president hold china to account personally and that's why i started off the show talking about this, on public but when the center for boston's celtics takes foreign-policy far more seriously than the actual secretary of state, we are doing something wrong. china is doing many things wrong, they are holding people, minorities and concentration camps, killing them, performing medical experiments on them. their human rights violations from taiwan to that so that's what we should be focusing on, do you agree? >> yes, i think they are a surveillance state in the way they treat the uighurs, we are going to get a dose of this during the olympics that come up in a month or so. americans will have to deal with the hypocrisy that our corporate

states, major corporations what i'm referring to, are supporting or advertising olympics coming from china and i think there's a lot of problems there. i will say, i think contrast to the trump administration is why americans put joe biden in office, they want someone more stable and you see how biden is dealing with russia on the ukraine very strong at the moment, we hope he backs up all his words with punch but we will see. i didn't see that from trump. the thing about china, what power do we have over our country that has so much invested in us and hold our currency? i think it's a difficult issue but it's a serious issue and requires adults to get around the table and make some decisions. kennedy: and not like john kerry says, pull my leg. it's everyone's claim, it is, everyone's. we are running out of time but

but people drink a ton in december, anticipating they will dry out in january and then february 1 they are right back to it so what is the reason for this? >> what we are saying is you have a problem with the human condition that we might start and stop, start and stop, i get it. however, i've never been pulled over for drunk driving, i have for drinking and driving so i think it's a good time to take a break, look at our relationship with the substances, alcohol, drugs, porn, gambling, shopping, whatever it is, you will see the relationship if it controls you and you control it? or does it control you? kennedy: i don't know about abstaining for a set period of time gives you an honest assessment of whether or not you are in the throes of addiction for something and it's something addicts do periodically in order

to talk themselves out of saying i have a real problem, they stop for a little while and say if i quit for a month, i could quit forever and that's not necessarily the case. what about replacing alcohol with psychedelics for the month of january? [laughter] >> i will have to say a big no to that but i get. i would say replace it with something healthy like exercise, prayer, meditation, journaling from drinking a gallon of water, i'm not sure mushrooms, if that would be the way to go. kennedy: have you talked to mike tyson? i talked to mike tyson about the toad, he licks her toes and now he is pure love and has forgiven himself for his past, he is rejuvenated, reformed. he's a walking testament to how psychedelics can positively

change you because i don't disagree with you about alcohol, it can be very hard on you and lead to bad outcomes but psychedelics, i've never tried them but they sound pretty good.
