this is just conspiracy talk, right? we know we reported last year on camera he shut down scientists who warned in january 2020 this could have leaked out of a lab. what are you guys going to do in congress if you get back in control? will you call him in again? will you try to remove him from office? what are you guys going to do? >> first of all congratulations great job, on that story, and dr. makary is one of our favorites. he spoke at doctors caucus meetings before. what a great guy and thought leader, he would be a great replacement for dr. fauci if he had the job. i think we have good chance taking back in control. so many things that need to be investigated and mattered. dr. fauci has proven he is not transparent with the american people. he admit he lied about the herd immunity. he has been exposed through you and other emails that he was dishonest with the american people about the origins of the

you got to wonder what he will say, five million people around the world dead of this virus over, almost approaching a million. 900,000 in the united states have died. turned our economy, the world's economy upside down for two years. we've been forced with moving goalposts on rules where we're not really following the science. cdc just reported five days ago, it didn't get much coverage, deeper dive into this, the natural immunity is more effective than the vaccine on the delta variant which i think was probably the most deadly vary rant we have. those studies were done in new york and california. the cdc is admitting that yet our heroes, health care heroes been in the trenches for two years are getting terminated anvil noised because they're not vaccinated. most of these people have natural immunity and why the government denies that as a vaccination status sun deniable. elizabeth: nih is not studying that. that is important point you're

congressman, great to have you on. >> thank you. elizabeth: democrats talk a lot about inequality and social injustice but ignoring, showing no outrage and social injustice of poor people and minorities and children getting killed by rising crime in u.s. cities and states like nancy pelosi's home state of california. >> yeah. not only are they not showing outrage about the crime in these cities, they're going so far to cancel classes in schools in places like flint, michigan, most students are minority students, they will sit at home all day? they're not getting education sitting at home and in danger because of the crime that is rampant in cities across america. elizabeth: democrats have this problem. nancy pelosi's husband has tens of millions of dollars in stock trades on big tech stocks in office. hunter biden business dealings, clinton foundation, bernie sanders's non-profit deals on the side but what is going on

we need to formulate and pass some legislation. we'll do that when republicans take over the house in less than a year. because i think it is important that we send a message to the american people that we are holding ourselves to a higher standard. i think we should absolutely be out of the business of buying stocks. it is going to be difficult because of the spousal aspect of that. where do we stop? if you're spouse works for an oil and gas company should you be allowed to vote on matters affecting energy. if your spouse is a teacher, should you vote on education issues. there are lots of opportunities on conflicts of interest. the idea that we are privy to information that they are not i think makes people extra questioning of members with congress with respect to holding and trading stocks. i do think we need to have some legislation passed soon. elizabeth: now nearly, new data, nearly one in five lawmakers own stock in tech companies targeted by antitrust legislation

advancing through the senate. according to analysis by bloomberg. i think something more than $315 million in stock and bond trades made by congress last year. so i mean the conflicts are very rich and it's pretty rich to try to deny it like speaker pelosi has saying you know, this is part of the from he market. suddenly she is a libertarian when asked about it? >> it is rich and i think that it is something that seems to bounce around but there is never any action. i really do believe in you don't see action before the end of this year, certainly if the democrats think they can use this as a political tool you will see action before november but i believe that republicans are genuine in their desire to implement change. i sit on the financial services committee i go out of my way -- elizabeth: what fix be? what would your fix be? >> my fix? i think we need to ban stock trading for members of congress and also spouses as well. i don't know that you can pass a bill that bans sons and

♪. elizabeth: let's welcome to the show ford o'connell. first there is this story. the, governor of florida ron desantis is really mad about this. okay, we've got the federal government nearly doubling it the order for glaxosmithkline's monoclonal antibody. they're saying no to the monoclonals from regeneron and eli lilly saying ineffective against omicron. governor desantis, bring it on, open up the gates, let it out we'll treat people. dr. fauci agrees with that decision. what do you think of this fight? >> governor desantis is absolutely right. give people as many options as they want. what the biden white house is really unhappy about governor desantis proves over and over that the biden white house has no idea how to control covid. when it comes to keeping people safe there is not one-size fits all solution for people. so essentially when you look at this fight, which you recognize is, that the biden white house

is playing politics with american lives because they believe that the only source of political power they have is for you to believe that they actually have a solution to something that they have no idea about. elizabeth: this feels like such a crime too. the first-responders, the cops, the nurses, the health care nurses, the firemen, the teachers, they were fired for being unvaccinated. now dr. marty makary has a piece out more studies, more and more, natural immunity is effective, three times as effective as vaccinations according to new cdc data, ford they only released now after a lot of stonewalling this, is data coming out of new york and california. natural immunity is three times as effective stopping hospitalization versus vaccinations. up to five times as effective in stopping infections versus vaccinations. why the stonewalling of the data? why isn't nih doing studies of natural immunity? >> johns hopkins did the study

along with the cdc. again it shows you that our federal government has no idea what they're doing. these people, whether they are law enforcement or first-responders, they should have never been fired in the first place because they were fired unfalse pretenses. we, we thought initially that the only solution was vaccination. what we learned as time goes on is that natural immunity and the immune system is three times more likely compared to vaccines to prevent you from being hospitalized. so these people are owed an apology. let me tell you something else. these folks don't grow on trees. they require training. they require certification. this sort of authoritarian solution is decimating america. elizabeth: we hear you. it is the bullying, right? it was the chronic bullying that went on. you and i talked about it since the beginning of the pandemic. denmark is opening up no restrictions, no lockdowns, no masks. cdc, dr. marty makary's study, study out of israel, showing

to hire fusion gps and christopher steele to build the anti-trump steele dossier that has since been debunked. looking putting it before the grand jury, former fbi official bill priestap, james baker, dozens of fbi and cia workers, director of the counterintelligence division. is he going after these guys in the trump russia investigation, what do you think? >> hard to tell. the prosecutor cannot force the target of an investigation into a grand jury. you can say i will go after liz, make her subject herself to cross-examination. that tells you one of two things, either they're not targets when they go in or they cut some sort of deal as a cooperating defendant meaning they eat some charges, that they memorialize their testimony in front of the grand jury. from the outside we can't tell.

but a for a guy who lost nine months of grand jury for covid looks like it is heating up pretty high-profile witnesses going in. elizabeth: he is investigating computer researchers and scientists that worked with the hillary clinton campaign who quote, accessed data of the executive branch. you and i talked about this. this is internet company research that was involving a subcontractor, right? who was in a sensitive contract with the u.s. government. looks like the pentagon's darpa, to try to get darpa information on trump and russia. so this is serious stuff, if you're basically breaking in and accessing data you shouldn't be, that is dangerous stuff. that sounds like criminality there. >> well, you know there is all these different buckets starting to get exposed in terms of where durham is going. misuse of important classified technology. the point is how far does it go into the clinton campaign to knowingly plant false information with the russian

dossier. go back to the pleading for a second. one thing really interesting, liz, durham has no friends in washington. this pleading talks about how the special counsel went to the inspector general and said i need all your information so i can comply with discovery. the inspector general, michael horowitz, said you got it all. it turns out it is not true. they held back on critical documents and critical items such as cell phones of the fbi general counsel who talked to sussman and the fact that sussman came in and had a conversation about the technological issues with the inspector general and the inspector general did not give that over to the special counsel. elizabeth: why didn't he do that? >> until the special counsel forced him. we need a watchdog for the watchdog. elizabeth: why -- >> there is no legitimate reason. the best case is negligence. it seems very improbable. it really seems like maybe the inspector general has a vested interest in low-balling some of the communications that took place. it's a very bad development that is in the details of that

particular pleading. elizabeth: it is like, sounds like sussman was bringing information to that watchdog, maybe tried to, i don't know, turn the information against you know, more against trump and it had something to do with you know, connections to a foreign internet server that involved the watchdog's own office and a worker there. it is all kind of squirrely, seemingly weird stuff, right? so your final word, jim. >> yeah. sure just on that last point, it is a rabbit hole. it's a weird little component where they said my client, sussman apparently told the inspector general, my client knows one of your lawyers has a computer showing up on a virtual private network overseas. that is a big no-no. why that is even part of conversation, we don't know. we know the inspector general didn't comply with turning things over to john durham who is fighting this fight on his own as far as i can see. elizabeth: got it. jim trusty, great to have you on. thank you for your insights.
