on gas tax, your reaction to that? >> listen, the federal holiday on the gas tax will have little effect on gas prices. we saw release from the national oil reserve, very little impact. this is temporary cessation of the federal tax. it doesn't get, liz, to the fundamental issues here, that is supply. this administration canceled the xl pipeline first thing they came in, stopped energy production. those are the biggest things that have the biggest impact on prices not a temporary holiday on the federal fuel tax. elizabeth: to the congressman's point, christian, you talked about this too, keystone pipeline carries 35 million gallons of oil a day. that is basically 10 times more than what polluting trains could deliver, christian. the white house has been slammed for botching. the president is not the president of the far left. he is president of the united states. your reaction to that? >> president insulting allies

like saudi arabia or at least partners in the gulf. they have gone hat in hand begging saudi arabia, begging other oil producers to increase production. guess what? the answer is no. they will stick with the current plans to increase production by 400,000-barrels per day each month. the actually production output is less than that. if you look at production in the united states we're still off 1 1/2 million barrels per day before the coronavirus crisis started. why is that? it is because of canceling keystone but also it is because of this atmosphere that biden and the congress has created to talk down u.s. domestic energy production, to scare away investors, to talk about the green transition on wildly optimistic terms. it just won't happen when they do. so you're seeing the result of that at the pump. elizabeth: we hear you. gas prices are close to four dollars a gallon. listen, first time it us hitting there in nearly 14 years. watch the white house press secretary say gas is going up. this is the price americans must

with russia is completely doing of this administration. everything that should have been done early on. first day president biden came in office should have sanctioned the nord stream 2 pipeline, instead of continuing dependence on russia for energy and europe, he should have said no. that is not the direction we're going to go. that empowers russia, that gives them resources they need to fund their war machine to threaten countries like ukraine, threaten places like the other nato countries. those are the things incredibly important to understand with this, somehow say this is the cost of democracy, no. this is the out come of failed policies of this administration. that is why we find ourselves in this particular situation. this was completely avoidable. elizabeth: what do you say, christian to what the congressman just said? >> i think that's right. for saki to conflate what is going on with ukraine there are much broader factors here including the reduction of u.s.

production. frankly the impact on the dollar that we've had already, that will occur from just the unbelievable spending and dilution of the dollar from federal policy, that sort of our actions against saudi arabia, against the u.a.e., against others in the gulf, that will have much bigger impact than what is going on with ukraine, the wrong war, the wrong place, the wrong adversary, the wrong time. biden never bothered to explain the american people what interest we have in ukraine which i think are very few in number. they will will be a little surpd if he is telling them they're paying four bucks a gallon because of that. elizabeth: christian makes an important point, congressman. is russia playing the world? are they really going to go to war or is this a big gigantic war game? they don't want ukraine going into nato. russia is a developing country. its inflation rate are eight, 9%. its interest rates are 9%. its stock market is half the size of apple's entire stock

price, market value, rather. now we have russia threatening to cyber hack our power grid, our electrical systems, our water supply and more after they shut down the colonial pipeline. what is really going on with russia here, congressman, final word? >> couple things going on. russia would love to have destabilized and weakened ukraine especially with president zelensky going out the door, have their thumb over ukraine, essentially ukraine as a satellite for russia. secondly i do think there is a strategic purpose for this. i think they would love to take eastern ukraine to have a land bridge to crimea where they could then put a large-scale naval facility so they have full control of the black sea, big presence in the mediterranean. in turn the indian ocean. that gives them a worldwide footprint much more than the regional footprint they have in their extensions from the north atlantic and north pacific. elizabeth: good to hear from you

with fuel, food or other supplies. they could also lose their licenses police say but when these flyers started going around here, it was almost like a mood shift from the truckers, not out of concern that they have to leave this area but rather it strengthened their resolve. they have been honking their horns louder today. they don't seem to be going anywhere. listen to one of the protesters we spoke to here. >> i have no idea what they're going to do here. i have, i never been in conflict with the law in my life so i don't know what they will do but i, i am committed to staying here. as long as i, that the truckers are here i'm with them. absolutely. i support what they have done. these are the warriors. reporter: police tell us they now have the resources and a plan to safely and peacefully remove the protesters and the trucks from the city center on parliament hill here. they also say that you should expect to see action from them,

years? why is it that this data was fair game for him to access? then also keep in mind the context it was an unsuccessful technological link between the trump and russians that sussman apparently tried to say was a smoking gun. so there is a lot of open questions. i don't think we can completely rush to judgment on any of this stuff quite yet but it is very interesting. elizabeth: isn't it an issue, white house communications and computers are not secure? no one should be able to access them. the fact that the clinton campaign was able, isn't that a national security threat? who else has access to white house communications? >> yeah. fair question but keep in mind, we just have to be pretty precise on some very high-tech stuff. this is not the actual substance of any communications. this is not being able to read emails or text messages. this is literally having these kind of almost like gps coordinate hits, this computer had some sort of inquiry or some sort of connection with another computer of interest or server

msnbc. their inside voices talking. they're admitting, saying the quiet part out loud. it is polling showing. because of the midterms, politics is why the states are moving on this. what is your thought? >> yeah, no, that is what is happening and we're also seeing what i think it is 30 house democrats that are not seeking to run for re-election, because they know there is a red wave coming, with the massive growth of government, the mandates, americans being told what to do and how americans are being harmed. we have people losing their jobs, people whose businesses were closed because of the shutdowns and were not able to open up again. we're faced with inflation and the open border. there is just one issue after another that is going on in our country and americans have had enough. you're also seeing americans uniting across the political spectrums, liz. because they are seeing the massive overreach of government

affecting them on a daily basis. elizabeth: yeah. it is bringing people to the center, right? it is bringing democrats and republicans to unite on this in the center. your reaction to san francisco, a shock vote, a landslide recall vote to recall three of the city's school board members. parents saying these members pushed hard on progressive politics to the detriment of children. this is san francisco saying this. it's a 70% vote to get rid of these three individuals who were politicizing children during the pandemic and botching school shutdowns. your reaction to that? >> yeah. i would say, who is next? parents have had it, liz. you have these radicals that are running these schools, these school boards. they have not been challenged for many, many years. now americans are stepping up, asking questions, pushing back. you have americans running for office, they're running for local elections, running for school board positions. it is about time.
