nuclear ice so they gave all of their weapons and russia promised security and promised not to attack them but now that they have attacked them, does ukraine get there nukes back? >> well, i suppose ukrainians could develop nukes but the problem is, it not clear in the end whether nuclear weapons do because after all, ukraine will have a few and russia will have a lot more, a lot more ukraine files nuclear weapon with russia -- ukraine ceases to exist. in the end, it will come down to fighting on the ground. what to understand and to hope, i think ukrainians are a bit like 1939 -- 40, the courage and unity of their resistance means that if putin's plan was to

impose public government on the role of ukraine than that plan has already failed, ukrainians have one. what the russians are asking for in talks with ukrainians is pretty much what they were asking for before the war which was a treaty of neutrality, recognition of russia sovereignty of crimea and no stationing of missiles in ukraine, the latest russian points. i hope the maximum russian aid if that's what it was to control ukraine from a that's already defeated. kennedy: i hope so, too and i hope to get out of there and i agree with you, if russia were somehow successful, they wouldn't be able to insert

mansions but when you get into the details of the work, it takes a very long time to find these assets and do any real damage, let's be honest, they are moving ships faster. kennedy: multis. >> yes, knox traditions. kennedy: i want to go there, beautiful. >> it's great headlines. the sanctions that matter obviously other sanctions on the money and banks and oil and gas. that's what really matters here. my concern is we are talking about the oligarchs kind of like we've been talking about strategic petroleum reserves, it sounds nice but at the end of the day, tanks are rolling and i think the answer is no. i think the biden administration likes to talk about the oligarchs because the left-wing parties happy to go after wealth, they don't want to talk about oil and gas. ban oil and gas, imports they will not talk about production.

sanctions, whatever. producing oil and gas were energy independent and export now, that's something that makes a difference. kennedy: and we should be doing got here, i wish the party once beholding to its most left element because they are the ones dictating the terms of that energy independent which we have to have in the here and now. we've seen refineries close down, we've seen pipeline projects shuttered, we've seen federal lands blocked from drilling leases so there has to be a way of on ringing that bell. >> and it takes time, when you make a decision like the biden administration has to stop pipelines and drilling, you don't just turn them on right away but when you've got leadtime, he better start now. the democrats right now are starting to take let's ban russian oil and gas but they will not talk about production.
