there is a role for nato and u.s. in particular to get into the airspace of ukraine to do a berlin style airlift, don't you? >> i do we need to do two things, de-escalate this, david. get put into the table and talk about opening up doors and move humanitarian aid and with some aircraft, separate and distinct with that, we need guarantees there would be cease-fire, an opportunity to get people in and evacuate noncombatants and wounded and make sure none of our folks work in harm's way. that's completely different than sending up a no-fly zone. if we did that, we'd have to make sure once we have that, we provide security to aircraft but is escalatory for us to take our own aircraft and put them in the airspace over ukraine and put ourselves involved in that conflict. i keep calling for people to

de-escalate this and bring put into the table and talk about how we can end this quickly. ukrainians freedom and liberties, they are not going to surrender overnight. david: you look at the mindset and what putin has done not only here for other conflicts like syria and the guy is determined, hell-bent, literally hell-bent on getting what he wants until he's stopped, physically stopped how do you get through that mindset when you -- he was mining some of these so-called orders for civilians. >> i think we are worried about that escalation and what does he want? got to get a leader who can talk to him and bring somebody to the table to say here we are, he's lost estimated half of the number of people he lost in the entire incursion into afghanistan by the russians.

this, you can see an awkward moment because they were trying to figure out. david: i would agree with you there, it was an awkward moment but the fact is about the people were disheartened the most by office, ukrainians. like zelenskyy. >> look, she's not that good at this and it's not the end of the world she cackled like this but it's awkward and a little creepy and not very impressive, frankly with her political skills if it's a shame because we could actually use some strong u.s. leadership on this issue. we should open a door to a reasonable amount of refugees from ukraine fleeing the violence of russia invaders, why not? we have space in the u.s., a very good betting system, the risk of crime or terrorism from a refugee that comes to the u.s. is minuscule statistically, as rare as reckoned beats up it's an issue where we could use leadership but kamala harris is not giving us that, she's giving us whatever it is .

david: let me just ask, why is it that she's sent to these no-win situations, extraordinarily difficult situations she doesn't have a lot of experience with if any at all, what is going on here? >> it makes no sense, if i were working for kamala harris, i would be suspicious. i am not a conspiracy race but if i work for the vice president, i asked tough questions about how come my boss continuously gets sent into situations that appear to be no-win situations for her and she's entirely unprepared for. there is a number of people who could have been sent and frankly right now, we need to do everything we can to de-escalate best. save ukrainian lives, nothing the vice president did today or the last couple of days helped that at all. david: there something going on within the administration to try to put her in awkward

situations? >> absolutely not and here's the thing, i wonder how many people actually went and read the transcript instead of just reading the headlines about her laughing. david: i saw the whole thing, it was not an inspiration, i got to tell you, not profile -- she didn't answer the question. >> she said we stand with the ukrainian people, she spoke about that. david: did you see her answer to the make question? she avoided the whole thing. she's not a diplomat, she has no experience in this. >> you're doing a disservice to the america people when you tell people and focus on one thing, supporting the ukrainian people, she's speaking about united states and ukrainian people what they need and standing with our allies so if you focus on one part, in awkward human error, human moment and ignore. david: i'm not focusing on the one thing, there are other parts

the future but it's not something we need to talk about right now we are literally on the precipice of a hot war with a nuclear power. it's not just ukraine at stake here as valiant as their cause may be, it's all of our safety because people in the u.s. are calling for things like no-fly zone which would require us to shoot down russian planes and potentially start a hot war with putin who has a nuclear arsenal so it's very tone deaf people buying an electric vehicle for this? david: the other thing is, americans right now are a heck of a lot more about inflation and what they are paying at the gas pump and climate change. is it right to bring up climate change in the context of things that americans really care about right now? >> no, i agree with the last panelist who spoke, his timing is off to talk about climate change and people migrating due to climate change, i agree thoughts up you're correct, a

lot of people say the american people don't mind paying to protect democracy, i think some are starting to mind when you see gas prices approaching $7 and people are trying to figure out how to put gas in the car to go back to work and take off the mask and do this and do that so there's a lot of frustration on the part of the american people but at the same time, i think we can't sit here and say this administration, america, our country has given a lot of money to the ukrainian people. we've given millions to support that in their efforts to escape and figure out where we can move them to so they are safe so we are doing our part so i think it's a little, it discredits ourselves as american to say this administration isn't doing enough because of what they are saying -- actions speak louder. david: chris, the practice america has been filling up at the pump for the past year end a

inflation has a bad rap but it's not bad if you are growing as an economy. the biden administration and local officials screwed up saying we know what's best for the economy and we know what to do coming out of covid and got in the way. all they did was juice inflation pictures, cut american jobs or people who were working from we have jobs, they are just getting paid to stay home and therefore the economy is mess with by the politics involved so therefore the economy is not breathing on its own so can't take care of what it would normally take care of. david: even though it was growing before russian invasion was on the radar screen, we now have president biden blaming russia for all of the inflation we've had, steve rattner, and obama economic advisor said today that's not true, these are february numbers, this is biden's inflation and he needs
