over these deals? what would that mean? >> sell of it may depend if he was an office or out of office. out of office it is not per se illegal for him to get money that way, once he is out of office in 2017 for example. but, you'd be interested whether transactions involve efforts to conceal it. money laundering, efforts to conceal relationships with foreigners that should be registered under the foreign relations act sprayed or tax issues. those are be the areas of concern. elizabeth: if you got money from hunter biden while he was in office over these deals will be the issue there? >> well, disclosure of that. issues of potential that would not be illegal per se but would raise issues of public confidence. elizabeth: possible national security risks with him?

the d.o.j. and the fbi for local purposes? that is a people are afraid about. they do not like that. >> i think going back to watergate is an increase used in the justice department and the criminal process to score political points. go after your enemies, try to embarrass them for the kind of thing we saw in 2016 with the false allegations about trump and the so-called collusion with russia. that is something i tried to put a stop to while i was there. and i think it is a risk nowadays. elizabeth: why is it a risk? >> because both parties to some extent. but certainly we have seen recently more the democrats have tried to gin up these investigations for political purposes. and it's an abuse of the justice system. >> getting back to your book you are not anti- trump.

you were standing up for the independence of the justice but a lot of people were mad saying how did joe biden when 81 million votes? a lot of people. a lot of people are saying how did that happen? they don't believe it. that is the concern for the issue i think you're trying to get at in the book is the evidence that is your position. but the issue was during the pandemic democrats pushed mail in ballots a week of voting bent the rules but people do not exceed democracy corrupted that way. especially the vote. >> i'm very concerned about the integrity of elections. i spoke out all the time while i was attorney general about this. people have to understand i fought hard and i think the republican party has to fight hard to stop these rules from being adopted the sku the playing field.

and over again. she is ultimately a public service these investments are worth over $100 million. i mean i wish again i had invested into this. way back when it started because i would be so rich. but again you have to ask these questions. if you look at this you are either suspicious there might be something going on here or you're just lying to yourself. elizabeth: the other thing to pelosi is a lot to say about a lot of things but she has been a radio is silent on this right now but at first she was vehemently against the stock bent and congress concentrating stocks. then she says if you're going to do you've got to cover the supreme court and the judiciary. and then she saying this is a free market we are allowed to do it. it's not a good look. we look at the timing of her trades, kat paid the husband trade the massive stock trade and tech companies and microsoft when microsoft was about to get a u.s. army contract for things like headsets.
