that's when he revealed the white house is creating its own ministry of information. >> we just established disinformation governance in the department of homeland security to more effectively combat this not only to election security but our homeland security. kennedy: that's right, they want to protect you from so-called disinformation and misinformation. so who decides what that is and what constitutes disinformation? who is the arbiter of what is true and what is false? it turns out it's this woman, her name is nina, it's okay if you don't know her, i don't know her and i already don't like her. what are her credentials for such a lofty position? she's written books and columns for the new york times and washington post, a direct flag. she tweeted elon musk is bad for free speech, another red flag.

she also once claimed hundred biden laptop story was disinformation. we of course now know that wasn't that true, three red flags. legs. that should probably disqualify her, right? today jackie heinrich asked jen psaki about all of that. >> how can you show concern people looking at this person wondering if she's going to be able to accurately judge misinformation now that a lot of that reporting has been proven to be factual? >> i don't have any comments on the laptop but i can tell you it sounds like the objective of the board is to prevent disinformation and misinformation from traveling around the country should. i'm not sure who opposes that effort and i don't know who the individual is so i have no comment on it specifically. kennedy: i don't know anything

that's what so concerning to me because last week it was said i shudder to think about if free speech absolutist were taking over more platforms, what it would look like for marginalized immunities so why is free speech back for marginalized communities? should. >> i appreciate that, the reality is they are looking at black and latino communities and at the power of disinformation on those communities, you will note the russians in 2016 target the black communities specifically in terms of boosting trump and denigrate hillary clinton and some success, it wasn't overwhelmingly, those folks voted for hillary clinton but to me, even today you have barack obama, the first black

president, he gave a major speech about the power of disinformation having on our country in politics, polarizing people. as long as the government doesn't act to silence anybody but just simply pointing out these are lies in conspiracy theories, i don't think this is 1984, this is 2022. kennedy: i think 2022 is scarier than the premises in 1984. i really do. my problem with this is this woman is acting like a white savior because black and brown communities are so vulnerable and what she's saying, they are so dumb they can't think for themselves so we need the government to act as a filter to make sure they are getting the right information. that on its face is racist and i am offended. i guess my problem with a government agency giving itself power to tell lies from truth,

that, the supply chain issues, labor shortage, inflation which is supremely government cost and people might say what does this have to do to me? investment returns this year, almost no place to hide, 18%, even the average bond fund, essentially safe government bond fund down about 10%. average investor is as pessimistic as they have been anytime since 2009 so the president is not worried economists and investors are. kennedy: what about people like me who love gold? i love gold, i love it, am i safe? >> well, gold tends to hold up during a recession and inflation but it's not a one to one correlation and even if gold outperforms, it doesn't mean the economy won't. even as it is now people spend an average of 3500 a person because of the inflation.

kennedy: how is that not a tax if you have less money to spend on other things because goods and services you purchase every day cost more? how is that not a tax? how are they supposed to keep deficit down if this administration only knows how to spend, spend, spend? what does high tax big spending environment do to a gasping economy? is that a good thing to do historically? >> spending doesn't fuel the economy, it's not consumption, it is production. you said spending more and more money on fewer and fewer goods, it's not good for consumption, after the bell to the amazon reported its first negative growth number in the company's history, shares clobbered after the bell down by about 10%, it's not that they cost more but it's the production we don't see. it is economy gets back on track it means the mess next iteration

prevent the brigade coming in from the russian military. it is incredible, i would say you've pointed this out at the beginning of this segment before we lurched off into dolphin town, the idea of money we are spending. the of administration is asking for 30 plus billion dollars more and they are saying they will stretch it out over five months to provide everything from 5 billion in military equipment hardware in military assistance to humanitarian aid. mind you, they've approved three and a half billion dollars in march for military assistance which is already now spent so the idea they would spend 5 billion and structured over five months, the problem the administration is having his lack of strategy, lack of an end game, they can't enunciate to the american people where this is going, what we plan to do, or

we consider to be. kennedy: why is that so hard? i understand it's difficult but i'm a civilian, i've never worn the uniform, i write about war. what i've read, i don't like it but that is their job. all of these people who have been doing this for decades and decades, they are the ones who should know and they are the ones who hopefully have internalized the bad lessons we've learned from iraq to afghanistan and vietnam and all points in between yet somehow, we've had these exact same conversations about those wars and missions and the tail eating the head. all of that and not having an end game word knowing what victory looks like, they are still slowly getting into something by the billions that will make that region and this planet worse. >> this is, we are watching the war in real time, emotions are hi, everyone is proud of the fight ukrainian's have been

♪♪ kennedy: all right, if you're one of the millions of parents worried about what your kids are learning in public schools, president biden needs to take a chill pill. here's what he said yesterday's teachers your of the award ceremony. >> too many politicians trying to score points, band books. they do everything they would be worrying about book burnings and banning books? all because it doesn't fit somebody's political agenda. american teachers dedicate their lives. we've got to stop making the target, that's what this is going. kennedy: he's so tired. maybe teachers are making themselves targets by insisting on talking to kids about things like sex.

we should do that here. who's declaring the culture war? the parents, they want the kids to wear masks for the dog teachers unions closing schools and acting like they are bananas. here with me now, american federation of children's national research director, i hope i said that right. did i get your title right? >> i think so. [laughter] kennedy: excellent. joe biden is all wrong and he's trying to take a politically viable debate for people who are sick of government in position and teachers unions and drag it into the cultural war mud. why is he doing this? >> why not focus on the basics in the classroom? then you wouldn't worry about these issues bubbling up but i think the problem is with the system, not the employees. the main problem is we've forced millions of families to send

their kids to institutions that don't align with their values without exit options and because parents disagree how they want their kids raise, you will have battles about the curriculum that pops up in the school system no matter what you choose because it's a one-size-fits-all system by definition it's not going to work for millions of families all across the country and the only way out is freedom rather than force is to allow the money to follow the child, institutions that align with their families values. kennedy: there are plenty of teachers who would like to teach in those environments but they are not our kids, they are the government kids. the president said that today. he was like they are not your kids, they are our kids when they are in school. it's like no, they are still my child even when my child is at school all day long, that child is not your possession but that seems to be what their philosophy is.

assuming someone from the teachers union helped him write that poorly delivered speech. >> he must have gotten the memo from randi weingarten but it seems like some democrats like joe biden didn't learn a dang thing from virginia. it's like he told terry mcauliffe, mr. i don't think parents should tell parents what to teach, hold my beer, i'm going to imply that the kids belong to the state. michael melis put it best when he said socialist regard your property as their property but even more variously, they regard your children as their property. it's time for parents to wake up, fight back and free their children from the clutches of the government school teachers unions once and for all and push for school choice policies that allow the money to follow the child and we won't have to have cultural war issues and is the

only way to make the schools have incentive to listen to the needs of families as opposed to the other way around. kennedy: it takes a village, it does. hillary clinton told us, she won a grammy telling us it takes a village so it is a collective. i don't understand where your freedom enters into the picture. >> your kids don't belong to the government, government officials should stay away from people's kids and they shouldn't fight as hard as possible to trap mostly low income families and their kids and failing government schools for 13 years without exit options. parents are upset, they have woken up and they are pushing back, school choice momentum is higher than it's ever been before thanks to people like randi weingarten and members of the establishment like joe biden letting masks slip and implying they think your kids belong to the government institutions. that's totally backwards, deeply unpopular leave and the more politicians say the quiet part
