suits up 25%. air fare 40% eggs up stagger being 33%. if you need a suit i know a guy that it fell off the truck. watch. >> june cpi data is out of dade because energy prices come down substantially this month and are expected to fall further. >> these numbers came outare outdated in the sense they don't reflect the significant decline in oil prices. >> well some of that, again is, is a bit out of date in the following sense. things that really matter in the production of food and feedstock, they have also come down somewhat in june but they're still very highly elevated. >> oh, gosh. sorry, guys, as you call it persons, the numbers don't lie. inflation was 1.4% when president biden took office. it is now 9.1%.

[laughter] those are things ongoing and holistic it's hard to see. it's exactly right and talk about inflation since october last year, we are talking about turkey inflation if anybody recalls that around thanksgiving so that was before the current conflict in ukraine, before excuses the biden administration put forward so we been talking about this. >> are you saying it's produced price hike and not putin? the only silver lining i found spilling positive energy into the world, we can all claim arson is down 83% because no one can afford to burn down your house. some coming to your house, they won't do that at these prices. panel, stick around. the federal reserve has its work cut out. investors are betting they will raise interest rates by a full one point later this month. they raised by 75 basis points a few weeks ago, the biggest since

1994, that's back when they were gotten knocked down but is it too late for this economy to get back up again and tackle inflation? are we looking at a recession sooner than later? joining me now, but professor of economics manhattan fox news contributor, brian brenberg. >> hey, how are you? jimmy: i'm going to begin on personal question, who do you trust more with inflation? joe biden or tom brady? [laughter] >> tom brady gets write better results with inflation, i think he's the guy to go with you on this one. here's the thing, we got a big problem with inflation, the biggest part of the problem is it's getting out of control, we this month and the expectations were 8.8% inflation, we got 9.1. everybody was thrown by that and the reason is because inflation

is going broad-based, not just gas or food, is everything. that's out of control. jimmy: let me ask you this though, do you think on some level it would benefit biden to fire somebody and put distance between himself and his economic mismanagement? would buy back a little credit guilty because i don't think he has it right now by trying to defy this as maximum prices that is. >> i don't know what he's thinking with this team except that they are the same ideologues who got him into office in the first place in is their plan he's running from the very beginning. for the psaki of the american people, he should fire somebody in the americans no that he's actually serious about doing something here, get a different team in place that can give him a little cover to try something different. he's got to do something different on energy, he's got to do something different on spending and he's got to do something different on covid policy.

he keeps extending the pandemic emergencies which are keeping workers on the sidelines. he's got to stop that if he wants to do something about the labor shortage and start to make it easier for businesses to bring down their prices. they cannot do that right now. jimmy: something no economic analysis points to, no one is mentioning how much joe biden has driven up the price of breakfast tacos. we can do anything. the silver lining, we distill a lot of positive energy, you think there's any world where this type of inflation leads to an end to the spent economics we've seen for future generations? i know this administration isn't going to get under control but is there a world where people take a lesson from this and maybe we benefit down the road? we sure are not benefiting right now. >> it's a wake-up call. if you're under 50 or years old, you haven't lived through inflation before, a hypothetical. folks like that can listen to aoc talk about the green new deal and modern modern monetary

theory but once you have lived through inflation, you say never again. we don't want to do this. what i like right now is americans are getting a real world education and i know people are paying attention because they are grocery shopping and buying things and can see what's happening. this is the kind of wake-up call, the revival in saint economic thinking that could be very good for america if we can get somebody to take joe biden's place and offer the leadership he's failed to provide. jimmy: so true. my biggest frustration again and again is this was unavoidable. he told me that on the radio, we didn't need to spend the money we spent coming out of the pandemic. to quote ronald reagan from a government is not the solution of the problem, the government is the problem. in this case, the government

caused the problem and now he's trying to rely on government to solve it which i got to tell you, that's the equivalent of trying to drink yourself sober, it never works once in college ever. >> i'm impressed quoted trump and ronald reagan in the same energy. [laughter] >> the philosophical basis for the biden administration is the only smart people in america who can lead us into the future of the people in d.c. what we are learning today is that's emphatically not true. america is best one is the people at the bottom taking initiative but they need stable prices to do it. jimmy failla, we are going to prosper, the biden administration, a u-turn or get out of office because americans can still succeed and thrive but we've got to do it a different

president biden today landing israel or he somehow managed to go off script before he even left the tarmac. here's what happened. the white house insisted again and again biden would not shake hands with foreign leaders in israel and saudi arabia because of covid concerns. >> we are saying we are going to try to minimize contact as much as possible but also precautions to adhere to because of his doctor. jimmy: they are opting for the fist bump but since biden likes to get up close and personal, he couldn't help but shake benjamin netanyahu's hand. but here's the thing, a handshake has nothing to do with

saying is this guy too old? pay attention to the thing everybody has been saying online for the last year end a half and finally treat it with the validity it deserves and unfortunately, they are not going to be able to lie their way through, not able to pretend like joe biden is someone who's competent, hard working, completely in control of what's going on and completely aware of what's going on around him, they are going to have to deal with the fact that this guy is out of touch, working less than five days week and this is a guy who really does deserve blame he's receiving from the right. jimmy: let me ask you this, there's so much management of his press schedule overseas and one of the things we've learned today is not going to be a joint pressure after his meeting. let me ask, are they doing that to protect biden journalist who might show up to question them?

worth like i would like to have a president i could look to and say and call you in the middle of the night to come down to the situation room, you know what's going on and understand your president. i think of someone walked up to joe biden and said to him today sir, you can't run for reelection because you've already served two terms, i feel like you would just look and say oh, okay. looks like world war iii is officially under way. i'm not talking about russia versus ukraine. twitter suing the world's richest man, elon musk, social media giant trying to force musk to feel 44 billion-dollar bills to take over the company. he announced last week he's backing out. former president trump is chiming in right on cue. trump back after musk said 45 was too old to run again. trump claims he could've made the billionaire dropped to his knees and beg while in the white house. does twitter have a case? does trump have points? the panel is back. emily compagno and inez stepman. emily, i have you blocked on twitter but you are a legal analyst so how do stuff like this generally play out? can they be forced to buy the

company? does he pay them a couple bucks, does he get a rocket and leave the planet? >> i would say twitter has two options which is suing him for specific performance and you signed a cost that forces you to go through with it. this one because he signs that said it's the billion dollar fine if he doesn't go through with it. 44 billion or which make sense why they are suing him, there are green i don't know the extent of the couch, that has materially adverse impact on the valuation of the company so how courts see it is they can break up a contract if the evaluation of the company is impacted but that speaks to evaluation at 50% or less so essentially the impact would have to have twitter's value be 22 billion or less. generally courts are allowed to, they want to honor contract, our capitalistic businesses and

deals especially in the state of delaware where millions of corporations are incorporated including internationally because such a business from the environment so any environment where twitter would succeed, it would be delaware but i think elon has a few more tricks up his sleeve. jimmy: i was personally relieved to know half the people on twitter might be lost because i want to believe psychos are in the world, is good news for me but bad news for the guy buying it but trump does nothing to solve the real issue which is big tech oligarchs centering speech so is there some concern that if the deal doesn't get made we are back to twitter dialing down on conservatives? >> i don't think this rock them sock them between billionaires was a substitute for treating it as a political question. this collusion, i would call it cultural collusion is different and leads to different solutions, the old idea of antitrust developed to stop. this is to get the folks to

agree with the same political perspective especially culturally but i want to make a note about twitter's value. as the company i think it's probably horrendously over valued in dollars and cents but you should think about it more, musk only get potentially more like jeff bezos only the washington post because it's an enormous impact on politics ann coulter. not a money making operation journalist influence operation. jimmy: trump says you on musk would have got on his knees and bacon white house, we know donald trump is not a guy to exaggerate, it's not like him to take liberties with speech but you think on some level trump man musk could potentially walk away? he saw him as his only chance to get back on to twitter where he would have more visibility because i think you'd argue he doesn't have the same talk right now on whatever he tweet on myspace or whatever he opened up. >> i was just about to say the same thing. trump don't flap the same way they are used to when they are not on twitter. it's weird they are fighting over twitter and fighting with elon musk because the way he gets busy, he needs to be on twitter, we need to see liberals scattering and running crying in times square. when he tweets into oblivion, it doesn't have the same effect on liberals so it's not the same. i don't know where they get this 44,000,000,004, i got twitter on my phone for free. [laughter] jimmy: i value twitter, i get culturally shifting narrative but is there anyone in the world would be better off if they spend a few more minutes on twitter? >> maybe not but it is an incredibly important tool and that's why this is so important, it's not just twitter, any individual social media company

seconds later but he's advocating for his new podcast, he's getting comments and using it as a teaser for that but it would be great if he used his platform for something positive like she's demonstrated she would do if and when she's comes homes. jimmy: are not trying to silence pro athletes when they say they don't have a right to speak out, of course they do but when you argue in society right now, they seem to suffer from a lack of common culture like couldn't athletes do more good if they use the platform to bring the country together? they are driving apart has some of the people who benefited the most from the greatness of the country. >> i agree and not just regard to lebron james but britney herself and i'm sorry, i am a bad person, i think even though i want america to honor our obligation to every citizen, bringing her home back safe there is a certain amount because she didn't want the national anthem to be played, i feel like maybe sitting in russian jail you have more appreciation for the rights the anthem represents and more gratitude, i would hope at

[laughter] emily, yes or no? >> i hope so, i hope her pleading guilty raises the likelihood but i missed the trunk days where we had a president who says bring her home or i will buy the entire country. jimmy: like i said, the whole speak softly and carry a big stick, we have dabbled incoherently and push a teleprompter. does he get her home? >> i hope so. i hope she comes home but yes, i don't know if he's going to be the one to do it maybe there's someone near or around him.
