tv The Evening Edit FOX Business August 5, 2022 6:00pm-7:00pm EDT
6:00 pm
that does it for us on fox business tonight. have a wonderful weekend. by the way, tomorrow, saturday at 10:00 in the morning, eastern time, i'll be on fox news channel. catch me from 10-12 tomorrow on fox news. "the evening edit" starts right now. >> liz: a new continue verse reigns leading behind why kirstin sinema will not back a bill. this new u gov poll, nine out of ten say to democrats like chuck schumer, we don't believe you. we don't believe it'll bring down inflation at all. joining us the only thing,
6:01 pm
senator big cassidy, lee zeldon and jeff van drew and economic pros carol roth and mr. shell, --and gop strategist. why did speaker pelosi go to taiwan? and the power of trump, carrie lake winning in arizona and trump backing her and the media ramps up the outrage and the evening edit digs in and the track record of the liberal florida state prosecutor governor ron desantis suspended and fbi director linked to violent crime to biden border collapse and busing illegal aliens to new york after the mayor boasted it's a sanctuary city and illegals say they're coming because biden opened the boarders. "the evening edit" starts right
6:02 pm
now. welcome to the show. happy friday. check your money. the s&p, nasdaq falling. fears of more fed rate hikes to stop inflation. three quarter point hike again is being talked about. the u.s. economy powered ahead adding 528,000 new jobs in july and that was double expectations and the economy is retracing the 22 million jobs destroyed by democrat-led shut downs. there's still 10.7 million job openings. as businesses hold onto their workers by increasing wages 5-point 2% annualized. reports for the senate is set to take up the democrat's $739 billion climate health and spending bill in a vote session tomorrow, there's a big fight coming. hillary vaughn is in washington with more. >> reporter: good evening, liz. 230 economists are trying to warn congress that passing the inflation reduction act would
6:03 pm
have the opposite affect writing this in a letter "inflation reduction act of 2022 would do nothing of the sort and instead would perpetuate the same fiscal policy errors that helped per sip at a time the current troubling economic climate. would create immediate inflationary pressures". chuck schumer is brushing off the concerns telling me this afternoon, they're wrong. if there's a chance these people are right, is now the right time to do this considering how high -- >> they're wrong. it's obvious that it will. you're cutting prescription drug costs, cutting energy costs, and we are actually increasing -- we're spending $300 billion on reducing the deficit. it's plain as the nose on your face this will reduce inflation. >> reporter: republicans are not convinced saying this whole deal is misleading telling me it doesn't reduce the deficit. the programs are made permanent and democrats are using deficit reduction as a trojan horse to
6:04 pm
get what it wants. the house has to vote on it still and there could be a major hiccup. on wednesday, we get july's inflation numbers. if that number is bad, it's possible that some house democrats that are concerned about inflation may decide not to vote for this. liz. liz: interesting reporting. hilly vaughn, thank you so much. we have senator bill cassidy and bill roth. good to have you both on on this friday. good to see you. >> thank you, liz. liz: gnat senator -- senator, 230 economists include princeton and tubing economists and moody says it'll cut inflays. it didn't say that at all. >> chuck is grasping at straws and everybody is saying you're going to increase inflation. to quote mitch mcconnell, democrats didn't think a record
6:05 pm
low 30% of americans approve of how they're handling the economy was low enough. i think this is going to be jacking up inflation, hurting people in their pockets both by increased taxes but also by making pay more. liz: to what the senator is saying, carol, is senator sinema and schumer get a lot of campaign money from wall street and private equity and sinema said yes after dropping the $14 billion tax increase to private equity. maybe that's audit to the middle class and small businesses to make up for that void. what do you think? >> i'm shocked they're not going after their billionaire cronies who give them their funding and lobbyist money and going after the middle class just like they did in the american rescue plan when they lowered the reporting threshold from $20,000 to $600 on ecommerce. this is the plan. the billionaires, they're never going to go after them.
6:06 pm
the real money grab is with the middle class. if you get everyone to agree to something in principle, then all the sudden when the details come out and go, well, it wasn't really a tax but, you know, you'll pay more in terms of inflation and corporations will pass those taxes onto you. unfortunately this is what happens every time and people are starting to get the rhus and starting to push back, liz. liz: yeah, to a saying, senator, people don't want fast balls whipped past them. can you talk to us more about how the gop is ramping up amendments to embarrass democrats to admitting on the record that during an inflation crisis, they want to pay for their billions in corporate welfare with massive middle class tax hikes including more taxes on u.s. oil and gas and manufacturers and hidden excise tax and royalty rate hikes too; right? >> yes, use the amendments to expose what carol was talking about and all the high minded rhetoric and the title saying it's going to reduce inflation,
6:07 pm
that's not what it's going to do. wait a second, we're going to have basically a oil -- a per barrel of oil tax passed down to the gasoline pump and other things that will drive up the cost for the average consumer and how she pays for her groceries, her utilities, and her fuel. those amendments will attempt to establish that for the american people. >> carol, people are sick of howdies honest democrats are. consistently chronically dishonest. so you can't force companies to pay taxes. they're saying this 15% tax rate, minimum tax on companies with a billion in profits, that they'll bring in revenue from that. no, companies will just pass it on. >> this is frustrating. these are the people that have lied about and been wrong about everything whether it is the economy starting to contract, whether it's inflation with stimulus money. every single thing they have been wrong on and now all of a sudden they're going to essentially plan the economy and it is going to be perfect.
6:08 pm
it's insane. of course corporations aren't going to eat this increase in taxes. of course their shareholders aren't going to increase -- eat the increase in taxes. it is going to either stifle some of the expenses in terms of invasion and capitol expenditures and/or it'll be passed along directly to the consumer, which means the consumer once again is bearing more of the brunt of the cost at a time when their savings are going down and credit cards are going up. liz: people are feeling the pain, senator. there was a time when democrats said do not, do not raise taxes in the teeth of a recession. watch this. >> the last thing you want to do is raise taxes in the middle of a recession. >> when the economy is in decline, you don't want to raise overall taxes. >> i don't think during a time of recession you mess with any of the taxes or increase any taxes. >> in an economy like this, the last thing we should do is raise taxes on the middle class.
6:09 pm
>> again, it's a global recession. we can't lose sight of this and what's happening here in the unit is happening all across the globe and quite honestly in a higher level in some places. liz: labor secretary saying we're in a recession. that democrats in the white house keep denying it. what is going on with this party, senator? >> yeah, not quite sure. it's worse than that. building on what carol said, cvo says because of this tax upon manufacturers, they're going to invest less in our country and the national association manufacturers estimate 200,000 manufacturing jobs will be lost. now, we're in a jobs war. we're in a jobs war with china, with other countries. they are subsidizing people to build there. corporations to build there, and yet all the sudden we're going to raise tax on the manufacturers who are creating jobs for our middle class and it's the taxes and higher fuel prices. it is also fewer jobs and a bad blow to people's pocketbook.
6:10 pm
liz: what the senator just said, carol, the republican senators were just off the hook upset today including senator cassidy and we'll show the senator weighing in with other republicans today and yesterday. watch this. >> well, the cvo says next year inflation will go up or down 0.1%, that's not much of a reduction. about as accurate as saying the border is secure and the taliban didn't know zawahiri was in kabul. it's a lie. >> joe mansion, why, why, why? >> much geared and oriented towards increasing the cost of energy. >> the economy is coming to a halt. we're in a recession. this is going to make it worse. i will not vote for a continuing resolution part of a political payback scheme. if you think you're going to get 60 votes, you need to think long and hard about what you're doing. >> let me tell you who will feel the brunt of that, it'll be small businesses. >> if you want to lose a manufacturing war, this is what
6:11 pm
you do. liz: there's senator cassidy. you know, carol, how can they think, you know what's really disturbing too and the senator will weigh in on this, that they want to raise taxes with democrat votes. with no republican votes. what does this mean for the state of our country today that you can do that and put that on the american people with no bipartisan shift behind it whatsoever? >> is that for me, liz? liz: yes, for you, carol. sorry. >> sorry about that. yeah, i mean, they don't have the mandate. people are frustrated and look at the numbers, they're frustrated by the way that congress is handling the economy and we heard from the senator before and amen for you standing up for us. this is really crushing and hollowing out the middle class and the working class at the benefit of the elite and wealthy and well connected. we have been through a historic wealth transfer over the last couple of years and it is going to continue and we're going to
6:12 pm
be in a place where the middle class and working class are entirely decimated. liz: senator cassidy, your final word. >> this is a bill that will touch the american people in a bad way. they'll pay more at the pump, you 'tilties, and groceries fuel is a big part of getting groceries too. i agree with carol, this is not a mandate to raise taxes. if anything, they should lower taxes. liz: thanks for joining us. it's good to see you both. >> thank you. liz: "the evening edit," we're digging into the disturbing track record of a florida state prosecutor governor ron desantis suspended despite all the media outrage. plus, a look at what was behind speaker pelosi's trip to taiwan and china suspending diplomatic rhetoric. more on "the evening edit". >> there's no world and no scenario in which joe biden is prepared to take on and confront

exercises around the island. you know diplomatic visit went well when it's followed by a missile strike. pelosi went to taiwan and said hello and hopped on her plane and was like good luck with all that. liz: joining us now, chief moore, former economic adviser to president trump. steve, always a pleasure having you on and we love your analysis. when it hits late night like that, you've got to take a reality check; right. i mean, china sanctioned speaker pelosi, suspends climate and military talks with the u.s. and sends 100 war planes, 10 warships, military drills running to taiwan and simulating a blockade. steve, why did pelosi go now? >> well, i'm glad frankly that pelosi went to taiwan because we need to show as much support as possible to taiwan in my opinion, but here's the problem in my opinion, you've got china that is basically saber rattling
6:18 pm
in the south china sea and they see weakness in the u.s. resolve, frankly and biden's leadership and why wouldn't they given what's happened in places like afghanistan. look, trump was the first president in modern times, liz, to see china as the existential threat to the united states security and our economic wellbeing and when we post those tariffs -- imposed those tariffs on china, a lot of democrats opposed those policies. i'm a free trade guy, but we've got to be tough with china because they're acting like a bully and, you know, if you stand down to a bully, you're going to see, you know, more actions that are hostile to the united states. liz: but why now? but why did she go now? to your point, there's tough rhetoric from nancy pelosi calling out china's human rights but to your point, little concrete actions behind a rhetoric.
6:19 pm
i mean, china is marching to be the number one world super power. house democrats to your point led by pelosi blocked bills and probes into things likes pandemic's origins in china, killed more than 6 million worldwide, blocked restrictions on china's influence here in the u.s. and our r&d and universities and stealing ideas and more. we're showing this jam packed bolster of everything with pelosi's mixed house record on china. so why now? >> you know what, i don't have anti-seek stories to why now. an answer to why now but we better take china much, much more seriously and china right now is acting like germany circa 1937 and that's how dangerous the situation is. when we have our focus in washington on things like climate change. no, climate change is not the existential threat, china is. when we have john cary go over
6:20 pm
to china and they make these crazy, you know, nobody believes these promises they make, oh, yeah, we'll reduce our carbon emission. they've never had an interest in the climate change issue, they're playing us. americans have to understand, this is a scary situation right now. it is a real threat to our national security, and we've got congress not even focusing on the issue of our country. liz: but pelosi acted like trump was the existential threat to america claiming he was going to trigger a crisis. we showed this yesterday, let's watch it again. >> the trump administration's reckless rash decisions are no substitute for real global leadership. i sadly besiege president trump to apologize to the american people for his disgraceful,
6:21 pm
dangerous and damaging behavior. >> what the president did, dangerous. clearly takes preparation, which the president didn't make and he abused his power for his own personal political benefit at the expense of our national security. liz: you know, steve, i mean, she went after trump and to your point, it was china all along. could you imagine what it would have been lanes in allen park if tip o'neil there instead with a horse trader wanting to do a deal with the president ready to do the deal. that's story of the trump years and it's a nancy pelosi story and now an international crisis because she went to taiwan. >> i was kind of thinking when you just played those clips that that kind of rhetoric was somewhat what the democrats used against ronald reagan. he's saber rattling and going to risk a nuclear war. no, he's the one that won the cold war without firing a shot. if we don't get tough with china, we're going to have to fight them one way or another over the next 10 or 15 years or sooner. we better be tough with them and
6:22 pm
we're not. i mean, we're just kind of rolling over and that is -- by the way, the way you win, the way reagan won the cold war is, you know, was not just building umm our military, liz, but building up the u.s. economy so we're number one. liz: right so we're not doing that. that's how we have to take on china now, but that's not happening, final word. >> it is not. when we're forfeiting our energy leadership in the world while china builds 50 new coal plants and we're shutting down our coal plants, what's wrong with that story? liz: firing up the coal plants to make our solar panels and green energy here. steve moore, always a pleasure. have a good weekend. come back soon. >> great, liz. you too. liz: the power of trump carrie lake wins the gop nomination for governor in arizona. trump backed lake and more on how the president's picks are skating to victory and florida
6:23 pm
prosecutor that governor desantis suspended and he's complaining to the media and we're digging into the story and information and blamed for a crime spike in the tampa area. all this and more coming up on "the evening edit". >> if you're 23409 willing to do your job as this individual in florida was not, it is well within the rights of the governor, ron desantis, to get rid of you and say, you're not doing your job. you're out of here.
6:27 pm
liz: joining us now is mitch ragaini shell and the hills joe concha. great to see you both. >> happy friday. liz: happy friday. joe, carrie lake wins ads' gop gubernatorial nomination. trump backed here. that's 146 candidates trump backed who have won since 2020. he endorsed 193, that's quite a track record. your take here? >> that shows donald trump is a king maker when it comes to endorsements in primaries. we saw it in ohio with jd vance and he doesn't win without that endorsement and pennsylvania with dr. oz. and carrie lake in ads. the primaries are like preseason football. the endorsements don't mean much if the candidate can't get across the gold line and win the games when they matter. in this case, in the general election. only then will the power of trump in 2022 truly be gauged in terms of how these candidates perform. now, polls don't mean a heck of a lot as you know before or
6:28 pm
after labor day. after labor day is when voters pay attention. can a hershel walker in georgia or blake masters in arizona make a difference. inflation is the number one issue for voters and those candidates hook that major, major issue to their democratic opponent and running against anchor. it's hard to see things not going well for the republican party but as polls stand right now in places like pennsylvania and georgia and a few other states, those republican candidates have their work cut out for them, elizabeth. liz: to joe's point, mitch, we've seen polls too say that, you know, voters do like trump's policies. he created a recovery and made the u.s. energy independent. just went full on that. you know, it started under obama but then trump took the ball and ran across the finish line. by the way, we've got dick cheyney going after trump and twitter and social media going after cheyney.
6:29 pm
trump went after cheyney saying the war in iraq was a big fat mistake and they lied about it but your take on trump's policies that are on the ballot? >> if you look at all the reasons why 85% of americans think we're heading in the wrong direction as a country, you can list policy by policy. whether it's immigration, whether it's oil energy independence, whether it's spending bills that we don't need that accelerated the pace of inflation. i can go on. you probably have them running on the screen right now. the fact of the matter is all of those policies that for trump policies and the biden administration, they just wanted to dot opposite and the seinfeld episode when george did the opposite and that's exactly what the biden administration is doing so all you have to point to is success of doing the right thing in the first place. i'm with joe, it's an uphill battle for many candidates and then the candidates will be out
6:30 pm
fundraised by the democrats that want to hold on to the seats. s. liz: i love your seinfeld anal seizure disorders. i mean, that was a -- analogy. that was a show about basically doing a lot of nothing. >> the show was about nothing liz: so, joe, christine said this too that americans are moving on from the january 6 hearings in efforts to re-litigate the 2020 election. to what you guys have been saying, it's american families that want inflation stopped, they want crime stopped, border fixed, and they want this to stop the toxic politicalization of agendas hurting schools. >> so many voters on the republican side and what bothers them about liz chaney is you never hear her criticize democrats or the president unless the president's name is trump. thinking it's a-okay there's no cross-examination of witnesses, no representation of those in the party like jim jordan or jim
6:31 pm
banks that can push bag on the witnesses, and she thinks this should be done in the country and this so-called trial and it should be done that way. that rubs people the wrong way. i'll be happy to say this before labor day, liz chaney will lose in wyoming and won't care because she'll run for president because she loves attention too much. azure as you were born, she'll be the next conservative on the view, or the 9:00 p.m. host on cnn. either way, even if liz chaney gets beat, she'll be in the public eye for a long time, liz. liz: i wish we were having cocktails later because we have more to talk about. >> come on over. liz: good to see you. >> have a good weekend. liz: you too . texas sends a bus of illegal immigrants to liberal new york city. democrats boasting it's a sanctuary city and now they're in an uproar. the disturbing track record of florida state prosecutor governor ron desantis suspended
6:32 pm
ands spended and congressman lee running for governor of new york. that's coming up next on evening edit. >> ron desantis has the chief executive had no choice. look at what's happening around the nation. when you have these prosecutors that come in with an agenda that puts victims in the backseat, that leaves law enforcement at the mercy of these radical agendas.
6:36 pm
>> state's attorneys that put their ideology over the rule of law are not satisfying their oath of office. i do think that some of these prosecutors that are very militant agenda in terms of ideology have been able to get away with a lot in other states. we've had prosecutors around this country that think they can pick and choose which laws to enforce and so he may have thought because they get away with it in los angeles and in baltimore that he could do this stuff in florida, and not on my watch. not as long as i'm sitting in
6:37 pm
the chair i'm in. we're going to take action, decisive action to protect the people of this state. liz: on my watch. welcome to the show congressman lee from house financial services. he's running on the gop ticket to be governor of new york. it's good to see you, sir. thanks for coming on. >> great to be with you. liz: governor desantis got rid of prosecutor andrew warren and suspended him and nonstop politicizing the justice system in tampa picking and choosing which laws are valid and which laws he'll refuse to enforce and laws he doesn't like. you were the victim of an attack. what are your thoughts about the story? >> if you want to be a district attorney, then you have to understand that da stands for that, doesn't stand for defense attorney. if you see that there's a law that's on the books that you disagree with as a da, you bring your argument to the state capitol and you can advocate for a change in a law. till that law's changed, you
6:38 pm
have a duty to uphold the laws of your state. as we're seeing in florida, we're seeing in california, we certainly have it in manhattan with the manhattan district attorney alvin bragg, people have decided on their own as the prosecutor, they're just not going to enforce all different laws across the board and others they'll treat as lesser offenses. there needs to be consequences for that because they're not upholding their oath. liz: excuse me, congressman, a disturbing track record here, he let go criminals including a career criminal that shot up a house with a family and children inside. let go people in the rioting in 2020 and got arrested a pastor for holding a church service during the pandemic while murder rates are spiking to levels not seen since 1994. that's happening in tampa. >> yeah, right there case closed. that you have somebody who's refusing to do their job then they have to go. the governor of the state has a duty to provide for safety of
6:39 pm
the public. the governor has to get involved. i would argue that governor desantis has not just the constitutional authority to get involved, he has a constitutional obligation to get involved. new york state, we don't have recall reelections. the governor under the new york state constitution has the authority to remove a da who refuses to enforce the law. i would argue that's not just an authority, it's a responsibility. liz: yeah, to your point, it's an important one, congressman. you swear an oath to defend and protect your citizens; right. the polk county sheriff grady judd in florida spoke to sheriffs in the largest districts across the nation and he said "we've got a dumpster fire going on in america and americans are getting burned by prosecutors like warren in new york, in la, in new orleans, baltimore. ". we can go on and on. watch warren complain here. >> this is attack on everybody's rights. it's not just elected officials who should be worried but the voters.
6:40 pm
people get to choose who they put in positions of elected positions. when the governor says, i don't like what you said or i don't like what you're doing and so i'm just going to throw you out of office, that's a violation of our democracy. plain and simple. liz: feels like hyperbole, little hysteria there, he was suspended. your reaction? >> the requirement is for the da to do their job and to enforce the law. you know, it's not a power move. i've said that if elected governor on day one i would remove alvin bragg. not to replace with some republican friend of mine. we're talking about the county of new york. we're talking about manhattan. if you're reaching out to the local elected officials, the only witness test is will the person do the job? liz: it's about something bigger. thomas sole pointed it out, we're letting prosecutors and judges put themselves -- judges
6:41 pm
put themselves above the voters and state legislatures picking and chooses which laws to enforce. that's bad for america. final word. >> yeah, no, absolutely. that's absolutely right. it's the duty for the law-abiding citizen who wants to be in charge of their streets. it's the will of the people that these laws got enacted in the first place. liz: got it. congressman lee, come back soon. have a good weekend. >> thank you, you too. liz: fbi director christopher ray linking the rise in violent crime to the border collapse. jeff van rue is fired up and we'll dig in next on "the evening edit". >> the justice department and the fbi must also make violent crime a top priority. however instead of doing so, it seems like the biden justice department, the fbi have focused on intimidating parents who are concerned about how schools treat their children.
6:45 pm
6:46 pm
liz: back with us now, congressman jeff andrew from house homeland security. great to see you, sir. thanks for joining us : >> it's my pleasure always to be on your show. liz: same here. fbi director, christopher ray testified to senate judiciary that america staves increasing threat from violent crime and tied it to biden's border crisis because of drug, gangs, and more. what was your reaction hearing that? >> my reaction was are you kidding me? we've been saying this all along and speaking about it and trying to legislate something to stop it and of course, you know, with the majority being what it is, it gets nowhere. the fact is that this is self-created, self-produced, self-destructed by this majority and this terrible president. we know that china is getting fentanyl to the border that with the border's gaming wide open -- gaping wide open, fentanyl is getting into our country and
6:47 pm
everybody should understand, it's not just texas. it's all over the country. fentanyl deaths are increasing, crime is increasing and part of the reason is absolutely because of illegal immigrants. we have dozens and dozens of people who are on the terror watch list, more than dozens. more than 50, a lot more. they're on terror watch list and many are escaping into the country. tell us something we don't know. liz: 192 caught to far. that's more than last year at all ports of entry including the border. watch the fbi director. >> i speak with chiefs and sheriffs all the time. in fact just about every week, sometimes more and the number one concern i hear from them, by far, is rising violence in their communities. whether it's gangs terrorizing a neighborhood, well known trigger pullers who keep finding their way back out on to the streets, robbery crews graduating from carjackings to aggravated assaults and worse.
6:48 pm
the violent crime problem is real and it's one we are firmly determined to combat. >> the border presents significant security issues. there's a wide array of criminal threats that we encounter down at the border. you've mention add little bit in some of your questions, the transnational criminal organizations that use diverse and complex methods to traffic drugs. that then cascades over into prison and street gangs who distribute it. liz: okay, we hear it; right. congressman, we understand it. why is this white house inflicting this on our border patrol and on our communities? >> i have absolutely no reason why. it is part of what i've spoken about before. there's actually a self-destructive process where you just have to believe that this white house and that this majority in congress doesn't care about america and in fact
6:49 pm
wants to destroy the fabric of america. frankly, christopher ray, he's not telling us anything we don't know. if he'd walk the streets and talk to people. if he'd gone to the larger cities and other areas and see the crime that exist and have existed and you know what, why it's no surprise because what you were speaking about before, prosecutors that allow people in and out with 10 and 20 fires, you know what, people at times need to be put away in jail forever. at times they need long sentences, three strikes and you're out. stop and frisk. we've got to go back. we made this happen. it didn't need to. couple years ago, it wasn't. liz: the crisis isn't how we govern ourselves. remember when congressman jerry nadler said antifa was an idea? he said every time i turn around, something is throwing a
6:50 pm
molitov cocktail at someone. final word. >> it's not just an idea or concept or whatever adler said and it's real and where did the guns come from and transportation come from and where does the money come from? they're real and it's bad and they're hurting our country. we've got to obey the rule of law and do what we need to do and get whole and heal again. liz: thank you for joining us. have a good weekend. >> you too, thank you. liz: texas govern abbott sends bus of illegal immigrants to new york and how biden's border collapse is really hurting and slamming the border states. art del cueto takes it on next in "the evening edit". >> people are projected into going into the country illegally in the first two years under this president. border towns in texas and arizona are beyond overwhelmed and now new york and washington are getting a small taste of what the mayors in those towns have to deal with with very

nate foy is outside of new york city port authority bus terminal with the latest. nate. >> reporter: good evening. that bus carrying about 50 migrants arrived here in new york city at 7:00 a.m. on the dot this morning. the green bus circled the block here around the port authority in midtown matt than tan and eventually stop -- manhattan and all the migrants poored out and all the migrants range in age, a lot of single men and majority from venezuela. governor abbott said new york city and washington dc is the ideal location for the migrants and can receive the housing and services that the mayors boasted about. today after the arrival, the mayor is accusing governor abbott of playing politics. >> we're receiving them with open arms and that's who we are as a city but need help from the federal government. >> reporter: help is not coming to washington dc because we learned the defense department

reject add request for more support as more and more migrants arrive in dc from texas. as for the group that arrived here in new york this morning, half of them will be bussed to other cities in the country and half will rely on resources here in new york city. we'll send it back to you, liz. liz: great report. nate foy, thank you so much. i'm joined by art del cueto and ford o'connell. thank you so much for joining us tonight. good to see you both. >> thank you. >> good to be here. liz: art, your reaction to the report because these cities are asking for federal help. see how circular this is. you collapse a border then the border states react saying we need help and now they've claimed their sanctuary cities like new york and now new york is saying we need federal help. know what i mean? >> well, they should be holding the president accountable because he's created this mess. this administration created this mess. for many times, the individuals that are apprehended on the

southern border, they say they're going to places like new york. they say they're going to places like washington, but now it's just political, you know, talk of oh, look at me. now it's been happening this whole time. what has the mayor of new york been doing then? now he wants to say something because he wants to blame governor abbott instead of blaming the person that is to blame and that's the president that caused this magnet of illegal behavior to happen in the country. liz: you hear what art is saying; right, ford? you have a council member in dc say "this is a crisis created by gop leaders in other states, republican leaders". no, it's biden's border collapse. illegal immigrants from all other central america are saying the message is clear, biden opened the border, period. >> look, art is absolutely right, liz. what joe biden has done at the border is flat out criminal and he's intentionally let millions of illegal immigrants into this

country, endangering the lives of american citizens, endangering the lives of the illegal immigrants themselves and lining the pockets of drug dealers. for mayor bowser and mayor adams of new york and dc to wine about this, it is flat out hypocritical. what they're experiencing in new york and dc is a single day of what occurs in texas. governor greg abbott for 19 months begged joe biden to secure the border and provide him with resources and joe biden refused and essentially called him a racist for not allowing and housing the taxpayer's dime in texas these illegal immigrants. liz: what ford is saying, art, you and i have talked about the border for six years since 2016. look at this, police in mexico near the u.s. border seize nearly 260 armored tanks. armored vehicles from cartels in the last four years. the vehicles remember, again, military tanks with machine gun ports. i mean, that's what's happening at the border. that's how scary it is. >> it's happening at the border,

the violence is happening south and it just doesn't stay there. it comes into the united states. when you're looking at what this administration has created with the amount of individuals that come across, they think they have a free ride and just ask for asylum and it's moving agents from one spot to process and hospital watch and also transport. that's allowed the criminal drug traffickers to bring their drugs into the united states. it's a humongous domino effect and it's on this administration. liz: christopher wray testified that terrorists can attack the u.s.. we've tracked 192 terrorists including on fbi terror watch list already caught at ports of entry on the southern border. that's more than 157 last year combined. >> look, joe biden -- [inaudible]. liz: that's for ford. that's for ford. >> joe biden's open door policy is not only endangering american

lives but a national security threat and he has a revolving door of immigration and we have people from 150 countries from around the world coming to the border and only 195 countries in the world. liz: love your passion and love for this nation too. art and ford, come back soon and have a great weekend. i'm elizabeth macdonald and this is evening edit. have a good weekend and join us monday night. maria: happy weekend ahead. i'm maria bartiromo. do the democrats have a deal? senator kirstin sinema suggesting she's on board with her party's massive spending and tax bill and with new changes and the democrats hoping to ram the bill through this weekend. senator lindsey graham is here with a response. plus, a big surprise in t
