about inflation. their new botched narrative is this, that u.s. inflation, just deal with it. it is worse overseas, you know. it is bad overseas too. u.s. inflation ranks at the bottom, the 14th worst in the world's top economies, 12th worse in the g20. worse than china, canada, india. is this really winning messaging? >> no, it's not. obviously, you know the fact is, first of all you're right, so many companies like japan, that have lower inflation rates than we do, so it isn't even true but to some extent you know the united states is the hub of the world economy. every other country is a spoke. and a lot of countries are either directly or indirectly attached to the dollar. so when the dollar inflates, liz, every country in the world inflates because they're all either directly or indirectly connected to -- so in other words if we bring our inflation rate down, not only would it

6:31 pm
the united states it was all over the world that didn't do jimmy carter much. elizabeth: i don't remember the '70s. just the hucapoo shirts just kidding. what is the gop plan to fight inflation? >> cut spending. i'm talking to republican leaders. the number one thing we have to do, this is really important, the investor class, the people you are talking to every day, they are hyper-focus what the fed will do. my line the fed can't do this on its own. what the fed solution is continue to raise interest rates until they drive the economy down and drive demand down. i don't want that solution. i want to see cutting government spending, so in other words if somebody has to take a hit it should be reduction in government spending, not what you and i and other americans spend. elizabeth: got it. listen to the democrats on inflation and their new narrative. watch this. >> when i hear people talk about inflation as i heard in there, we have to change that subject.
