of october. i'm trying to get the expectation of inflation. those numbers are sharply away. blue one consumer sentiment slightly higher. we have pending home sales. lauren: a huge fall. this is for september, supposed to be down 5%, they came down 7.6%, down for 10 of the past 11 months, we had the increase in gdp. looking at the housing component, 6%, this adds to the story we have been saying all year. stuart: ouch in the real estate market. i don't think it had any big impact, the dow is up 400 points. it has been a bad week for the president, how the president is perceived.

he called vice president harris the president, fumbled the name of the new prime minister, was confused about the student loan handout. when he took office, he said it was in ruins and gas was $5 a gallon when he took office, that is not true. he did this in one week. no one wants to pile on. he's the president of the united states, america wants and needs a focused and energy leader. he is not focused, watch out of he strays off the teleprompter, he's not energetic, frequent reappearing tired and worn out. everyone sees this. members of his own party keep him at arms length. many press don't want him to campaign with the. 's white house staff keep them under wraps because they know the damage he could do even with a friendly interviewer. he has been wheeled out occasionally to make a brief presentation from the teleprompter. who knows who's really calling the shots.

that someone will need to be built. it is somebody who will need to be getting a profile and is going to know what to do and what their job will be and that's not kamala harris. they have to start fresh and have to think out of the box because at this point they have been denying what is going on when it comes to the country and they don't have high regard for the american people, they think we are a bunch of rubes sicking our thumbs and they can roll over us like a monster truck, they have been mistaken so we have had it and it is a matter of being lied to or having the president and others being mistaken. this is not a political game of battleship on the computer. this is real life. people's lives, the futures, some people aren't going to have 20 or 30 years to rebuild

their accounts, rebuild their lives. this is an excess essential threat and we are worried about being too harsh with the president. i understand that sometimes, seem to be not worried at all how harsh they are on this country and the average american. stuart: the current trend is towards the republicans taking the house and the senate. after that vote i don't see, he will stay in office but i don't see how he can say i'm running again in 2020. >> it is a problem with not knowing who is running the country. the same people who got us here would remain. he becomes a friend that you shift out and put another placeholder in. this is why the constitutional republic requires people to punish a person or remove them who is a mistake or creates problems. when people are not elected are running the country we don't have that luxury.

shifted, which one is that? lauren: arizona between democratic in competent mark kelly and blake masters. it is a tossup instead of democratic. the average has kelly just 1.5 points. it is so exciting what could happen a few days from now. stuart: if you are a public and it is exciting. lauren: the big players are pouring money into specific races hoping to change things. stuart: back to the markets. good to have you on the show, sarah. if i am a long-term investor should i be buying now, big tech? >> a great question. we've seen a massive week for earnings and the old guard fall. when i say old guard i mean big tech. in the short-term it is difficult. interest rates rise and companies still challenged but if you are long-term investor

like you said, think of the opportunities that could be created. in the words of warren buffett be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful and how much fear is out there now. i would say look beyond big tech too. if you think of the top companies today, where were they 20 years ago, look at the early 2000s, the top companies, only one overlaps with the top five companies today. you need to make sure you are vigilant of companies that could be the companies of the future and they might not be included in the s&p or the dow or the nasdaq because they are not large enough. look beyond large tech and structural growth mis structural growth memes like cybersecurity.

>> the debate didn't hurt but not to the extent that fetterman's policies are hurting. most voters in pennsylvania are concerned about 3 things, inflation, the economy, crime and it's those 3 points the killing fetterman. the more people realize he is a trust fund baby, the more they hear he wants to release 1/3 of all prisoners in pennsylvania and get rid of second degree murder, that scaring people especially suburban voters who see the crime rate spiking in philadelphia and pittsburgh. it didn't hurt fetterman, probably hurt him a little, the debate a bully hurt fetterman a little, what is really crushing fetterman is the crime issue and the inflation and the economy. stuart: i'm interested in the fracking issue. pennsylvania is a major league fracking stay. four years ago fetterman said

he didn't want anything to do with fracking, now he is all over the place saying i do support fracking. what to people of pennsylvania think? do they support fracking? >> it is popular especially what we described as the areas that are not pittsburgh and philadelphia. it's an economic driver in the state of pennsylvania. if we were to unleash the national gas sector we would have much more power on the international stage and people understand that. it is not just about energy but also petrochemicals the going to the manufacturing cycle and the power we would yield, a net exporter of energy but fetterman, not just one statement that contradicted himself. this is a guy that signed a pledge, made a public deal about signing a pledge to ban fracking. he said fracking is a stain on pennsylvania. that rhetoric will not help him

relationship is at an all-time low. stuart: secretary blinken says the saudi's recent aid to ukraine does not make up for the opec plus cut in oil production. where do our ties with saudi arabia stand? >> there is an 80 year relationship as old as the president between saudi arabia and the united states. relationships are very deep, saudi arabia is head of opec and opec plus, consortium of 23 countries balancing the market with her decision of reduction cuts. the price of oil fell and that should be benefiting the world. we talk about huge profits that you just mentioned the. enormous amounts of that is a tax base for the federal government so that is not mentioned to the american public. it is not strained to the point of breaking but the communication for the united
