see you. joining us congressman andy biggs from house oversight. congresswoman kat cammack from house homeland security. first to you, congressman biggs. you and members of the house freedom caucus, congressman biggs you're fighting against kevin mccarthy as speaker of the house? why? america cart think won the gop nomination as house speaker but falling short of 218 votes. why are you fighting against mccarthy. >> i wouldn't characterize fighting against kevin mccarthy. elizabeth: you don't want him to be spiker, you don't want him to be speaker, is that it. >> some don't want him to be speaker, some will accept him to be speaker, what needs to happen, the change in trajectory. here is the question, we don't know if he will fight this administration with everything that he has, every tool that he has. we don't know if he is going to use every leverage point. we don't know what the policies are, that he is going to advocate for. and quite frankly, we just don't

know what's going on with him as speaker of the house. that needs to be determined. i think what you saw today was well beyond the freedom caucus because you had a few members of the freedom caucus that supported him but other members who didn't support him who are not members of the freedom caucus. so it's a long way to get to 218 and he doesn't have it yet. elizabeth: congressman, what specifically are the problems that you guys feel are, issues with kevin mccarthy as speaker? what, can you cite examples? >> yeah. so let's talk about some leverage points. an example of a leverage point must-pass piece of legislation. national defense authorization act. the national defense authorization act we just passed we'll have to pass another one doesn't have all democrats support. so they were in the majority. they needed republican votes but instead of removing things like diversity, dei offices and also the safe banking act and

clearing that up, we had this massive bill and we didn't stop it to get some of the bad woke policies out of there. we went ahead and said okay. that becomes a problem. that i think is part of what we're talking about. there are, we're going to have a thin majority. we have people on the one side of, either side of the conference. they are willing to work together. we have worked together. we need to be able to work together. and the question is whether kevin can pull that off and pull that together. elizabeth: so you will continue to challenge kevin mccarthy? you say he needs to do more to stand up to democrats. we got that congressman biggs, we'll have you on soon. we want to get to congresswoman kat cammack. congresswoman kat cammack, good to have you back on. you support kevin mccarthy as gop speaker of the house. why? >> listen at the end of the day we have a mandate from the american people. they want common sense policy that is conservative and america first. that is what we need to do and that's really the plan kevin mccarthy has.

most importantly as part of all of this he has a plan. we'll get our economy back on track. we'll secure the border. we're firing 87,000 irs agents day one. most importantly we're holding this swamp accountable. we need someone -- elizabeth: sorry, andy biggs -- >> he is the one who got it. elizabeth: andy biggs is saying kevin mccarthy folds and cave into democrats too easily. is that the case? >> no. see i don't think that is accurate because when you think about the minority position we've been in where you have a very, very tight number of republicans versus democrats, i don't recall anyone ever saying anything bad about kevin mccarthy as he was standing there for 8 hours 32 minutes helping tank the build back broke agenda. people are quick to forget that. all that being said, healthy to have discussions, healthy to go back and forth get the best conservatives out there. in the end we'll be fine. elizabeth: let's go to this. trump will possibly announce he will run in 2024. then we've got kong

in my mind president trump was the greatest president in my lifetime. i was born in 1988 as point of reference for all viewers out there. we have incredibly good problem right now. we have a heck of a lot of talent in the conservative movement. you have governor ron desantis, you've governor, i'm sorry, president trump. if you look around the country we have a tremendous bench deep and rife with talent. a lot of good things to offer. i personally think the next president of the united states will come from the sunshine state. that is my personal opinion. we need to get back to the america first policies. i think both trump and desantis championed those. we need to stop the infighting and focus on problems dividing this nation. that will be the battle ahead of us. elizabeth: that battle over policies, and capital riots multiple investigations is hanging him up. he is under multiple probes. we have mike pence criticizing him too. so there is all of that. we were in the middle of a

elizabeth: we've got breaking news coming in. house homeland security ranking member john katko. good to see you, congressman katko. greg abbott invoked the invasion clause of the u.s. constitution to deal with the border crisis down there. this is the first time we've ever seen a u.s. governor do this. what is your reaction? >> my reaction is i probably would be doing the same thing if i was a governor. what else can he do at this point. it is like banging your head against the wall trying to get this administration to pay tanks to the crisis they created. it's a crisis. people are dying in record numbers. people are dying of drug overdoses in record numbers. people are crossing in record

numbers including terrorists. what else can he do at this point? i don't blame him giving it a shot to make it happen. elizabeth: we had more terrorists caught in the last fiscal year than the last four years combined. homeland secretary, we watched what was going on, congressman. you were at the hearing. he claimed the border is secure. his own team says that is wrong. your reaction? >> listen to the person who answered the question after him, director wray from the federal bureau of investigation. he detailed a litany of concerns he has about the border now, terrorist standpoint, criminal standpoint, national security standpoint that does not comport with real think that the border is security. nobody i know is maintaining that except the secretary. elizabeth: watch fireworks from today's hearing. listen to this. >> secretary mayorkas, final question, sir -- >> honor and nobility.

plan. i have just heard grievances. elizabeth: eric swalwell saying there is no plan. what is with the talking points? he works for the american people. the american people don't work for him. >> well that, that is our job as members of congress to hold people accountable all across the government and that is what we did today. and when we take over the majority on january 3rd, my colleagues will follow me running the committee hold him and others accountable for this. it will be a different dynamic because we'll be in at majority. we'll be able to dictate things. elizabeth: are you going to move to impeach him? >> i won't be on the committee at that point. i don't know if that will happen or not. that is certainly something that has been discussed. i don't know if it rises to that level or if that is necessary. what we do need to do hold this administration accountable for the atrocious border situation that we now have that they created. elizabeth: you know, in october 2019 there was something like 55,000, 60,000 illegal border crossings. there are now 230,000.

it's astronomical now. we are seeing, records broken from month to month to month to month. you know the american people are sick and tired of it. they're sick and tired of having to see this on their tv screens every night where you see mayorkas down there just, you know, jawboning and not doing anything and having now a federal judge kicking out trump's title 42 today, the pandemic policy. d.c. judge emmet sullivan just pushed that out the door. so that's gone. so you know what about, upholding their pledge for the safety of u.s. citizens? their constitutional oath? >> they seem to have ignored that pledge. i can tell you one group they didn't mention that is aghast apoplectic about this, 108,000 families buried loved ones this year because of drug overdoses. drug overdoses are now the number one killer of people 18 to 45 years old. it is first time in our nation's history more than 100,000 people

wasn't his money in effect to give and he is at this point by all reports worth zero. so they should have to give it back but it is congress. so of course, or congressional candidates and it is the government and politicians. of course they will probably not going to. i think it speaks to a bigger issue which is all of the money that is in campaign finance. citizens united i know a lot of people on the right have backed it. it is a disaster. we need to have that overturned and return to some semblance of formal sy in these elections. elizabeth: yeah, we saw one report $17 billion estimated. that was the cost of the midterms. this guy freid from ftx, he palled around with top democrats. he shared a stage with bill clinton in the bahamas. spoke at conferences, testified on capitol hill. he was a speaker at dave votes, the world economic forum, scrubbed its web page getting rid of its connection to ftx.

we're looking at the balance sheet it could be $16 billion in money that vaporized and vanished and gone. when investors look at the black box, this is like magic beans, there crypto exchange, you know what i mean, carol? you look inside, it is like cobwebs there. >> i think there is something really different going on here. when you have an enron or an mf global it seems like it is purely agreed money play, given connections you laid out. on top of that ftx was involved in terms of crypto donations to ukraine as well. so the cast of characters, all the dem donations, the wef wants nothing to do with them, ukraine, there feels like a bigger story here. there are some more questions than answers.
