ashley: that is barrel lives, that's going way back to the 1950s. i may be wrong on that. as a young child my dad would bring that at christmas time. is 10:00 eastern time in this christmas season. let's get to your money. the green on the screen, the dow is up 56 points. a modest increase. s&p up even more modestly, up one. 9 and nasdaq still trading down but just barely. it might go green. interest rates trading up. the 10 year yield up to 3.69, close to 3.7. it is up 10 basis points. if we could look at oil trading up a book to $76 a barrel and bitcoin we saw a rise up $357,

close to 17,000. it is 16,940. the supreme court temporarily blocking in order that would end title 42 as a white house correspondent calls out the white house for ignoring the border crisis. >> the images we will see this week on title 42 are going to be unavoidable and impossible to ignore. we are finding this is an administration and white house that has been reactive to the migration problem and often times republicans leading the conversation and what we've seen is the biden administration blaming trump policies. we are two years in. dave: matt schlapp joining us, the border has been open for months and the legacy media has been silent, nothing but crickets from them.
10:03 am
is the tide turning? is it too obvious to avoid? >> the border has been open all 8 years of the obama administration, trump took historic steps, one was title 42 which allows the president of the united states to say because there is a health crisis, they also there was one, the pandemic, that most impact policies on the border. if you let people stream in across the border without taking into account the health effect on our population, that would be a healthcare crisis. here's what president biden is saying, covid remains a problem, he continues to push for funding on covid. my guess is they could start with more panic if cold and flu season goes up. at the same time the biden administration is saying covid is still an issue, they are saying it's not an issue at the border. how is that possible? the hypocrisy of the biden
10:04 am
administration never ends. dave: we have 800 migrants themselves dying as a result of trying to get in and thousands of americans getting killed by fentanyl and problems with criminality, all the got aways, no idea who they are, this is a national security crisis, more than a little problem. >> let's be clear here, it is a crisis of their own making because of their cynical politics, they believe illegal immigration on the southern border mostly done by mostly committed by latinos is good for them politically. it is a way to flatter minority populations but what we are seeing in america is the crime and fentanyl, human trafficking, rapes and murders, the whole diabolical process is bad for their communities and
10:05 am
they are straining towards republicans on this. the idea president biden things this is a racial play politically is sad because he's hurting these communities, even barack obama said if you play across the southern border illegally you will be sent home. president biden says if you cross the border illegally come on over and i will ship you around the country and act like you didn't break the law. dave: the white house spokesman is saying is a close border which is absurd. we've got to talk republicans, there's a fight between senate republicans and house republicans over the budget. how is that going to end? >> very badly for these senate republicans, conservative leaders like myself will get aggressive, it's very clear republican activists across this country know that our profligate spending cannot continue and it is leading to this diabolical inflation which is hurting us across the country.
10:06 am
if they passed $2 trillion in emergency spending it will fuel than inflation, fuel president biden's policies and separate elected republicans from people who vote for them. the senate republicans are destroying the republican party in a cynical ploy to do business as usual, they can't give up the spending but the spending now is causing average americans to have their lives destroyed. it must end and there will be consequences, people better listen. dave: when americans are choosing between eating and heating there's a problem. great to see you, thanks for being here, merry christmas to you and your family. lawmakers just unveiled this huge spending package as they race to a shutdown. >> it is 40 one hundred pages long, you ask what is in a,
10:07 am
$858 billion for the military, $45 billion for ukraine, $41 billion for response to natural disasters and legislation to avoid a repeat of january 6th and to ban tiktok on government issued devices. the senate will vote first as early as tomorrow and the house just under the wire because the current spending bill expires midnight friday which is christmas eve eve. dave: everyone will have read it cover to cover. thank you very much. let's get to the markets, we were seeing positive movements moments ago, that continues, the dow is up 80 points. the nasdaq is trading up just barely, scott schelladdy, the horrific spending bill in the midst of all the inflation, the fed is getting no help from legislators, what do you think is going to happen with inflation?
10:08 am
some people say we have got it handled now that the fed is working at but you still see them spending like drunken sailors inside the beltway. >> drunken sailors stop spending when they run out of their own money but here is or stand, the american electorate is lulled to sleep thinking this is a short-term thing and you can tell by their actions, they are spending their savings which are record lows, jacking up credit cards, record highs and vanguard has a survey saying out of all their 401(k)s, 5 million or so, people are rating them with hardship loans to give themselves a bridge to get through this, that's not going to work, the last time we had inflation like this, started with nixon, 6.6% since 1971 and went through forward, carter and was finally taken care of by ronald reagan. i'm not saying it will be four presidential terms long can.
10:09 am
i just tell you it's not going to be as quick as a demonstration thinks because of things like $1.7 trillion being poured on that fire the fed raising rates to put things out and if we go back in history you will find, we thought we had it looked in 1980-81, took our foot off the gas and it started up again. inflation will be sticky, it comes down slower than when i went up and a lot of it has to do with labor. as long as you got 3.7% unemployment we will see that rise to 6. 5% and be up there for 2 years, to get down anywhere near the 2% inflation mandate. dave: and will have a huge slowdown so this will be stagflation on steroids, right? >> the job losses start to come through, don't know if you saw the difference with the philly fed the other day but we are 1.2 million jobs off, the philly fed is right, we are in a dire situation and we will
10:10 am
see the on employment numbers climb, and again as johns hopkins says they expect that to be 6. 5% for 2 years, to get down to the 2% inflation mandate, this is not looking good anyway you look at it. dave: despite that i hope you have a merry christmas, you and your family. i know you're traveling, good luck with that. good to see you, thank you very much. and you are looking at some movers for the markets, let's start with home depot. lauren: the price target goes to 335 or 390, they are worried people will fix up their homes left, they cited the decline in the stock market is the reason people have less money and the decline in home prices. dave: whirlpool. lauren: jpmorgan took them to neutral, it was one hundred 45, they took it to 35, did not leave off the one. they blame softening housing

market and inflation is going to persist for the next 6 to 9 months, so says jp him. lauren: the pharmaceutical company verona farma. >> they have a long medication, stock is up 41%. dave: thank you very much, thousands of troops discharge for refusing to get the covid vaccine could soon be reinstated. that is good news. they may get back pay. mike emanuel has the full report coming up. new york city mayor eric adams issuing a warning about ending title 42. he says migrant surge could strain basic services new yorkers depend on. we have the details. the supreme court temporarily blocking the end of title 42 but businesses are still bracing for when it will be officially lifted. grady trimble will tell you how a rancher on the border is preparing for the end of title 42, that is next.
10:14 am
when people come, they say they've tried lots of diets, nothing's worked or they've lost the same 10, 20, 50 pounds over and over again. they need a real solution. i've always fought with 5-10 pounds all the time. eating all these different things and nothing's ever working. i've done the diets, all the diets. before golo, i was barely eating but the weight wasn't going anywhere. the secret to losing weight and keeping it off
10:15 am
is managing insulin and glucose. golo takes a systematic approach to eating that focuses on optimizing insulin levels. we tackle the cause of weight gain, not just the symptom. when you have good metabolic health, weight loss is easy. i always thought it would be so difficult to lose weight, but with golo, it wasn't. the weight just fell off. i have people come up to me all the time and ask me, "does it really work?" and all i have to say is, "here i am. it works." my advice for everyone is to go with golo. it will release your fat and it will release you.
10:16 am
dave: we are seeing green on the screen which is a good thing after yesterday. yesterday the markets collapsed toward the end of the day but are in the green today, dow jones up 91 and the nasdaq is up slightly, 9 points. the mayor of new york city, eric adams, warns ending title 42 affects services, what exactly -- lauren: he is anxious new york city resources can't handle this flood of migrants and called out the strain on the education system in the police department. >> it is alarming, new yorkers need to be aware of what we are up against.
10:17 am
i'm not going to sugarcoat it. every service we provide will be impacted by the influx of migrants in the city. it will impact education, it will impact dollars we are using to clean the streets. it will impact our public safety. but impact our helping those long-term new yorkers who i need. lauren: a democratically led century city. since spring 32,000 migrants have come here, most of them in taxpayer-funded shelters but they need healthcare, they need clothes, they need schools and they don't work because they can't. dave: a lot of people come -- they don't realize how cold it is, that happening in texas. the supreme court did just temporarily block the expiration of title 42 but businesses still bracing for when it is officially lifted. grady trimble talking to a rancher on the border in cochise, arizona. what is he saying?
10:18 am
>> reporter: he feels it is a matter of when, not of title 42 gets lifted and he's worried a bad problem he has been dealing with especially for the past 2 years will get worse. i want to set the scene so you see how close we are to the border, this is the wall, mexico on the other side and where i am standing right now, rancher john ladd's property. as a result of the past couple years of immigration problems under president biden you've been dealing with host of other issues on your land because this is the first place like lowes, runners, migrants land as soon as they climb over the fence. >> that is right. we have put up with his immigration deal for 30 years and this is the worst it has ever been. >> reporter: they destroyer property in some cases, makes it hard to do your job. >> absolutely. fences, water lines, they tear fences down, they don't want to climb through them, they break water lines to get a drink, get

10:20 am
enforcement officials across from here to new mexico to texas all saying the same thing, that of title 42 is lifted there are going to be major problems on the southern border. dave: they have a slight reprieve. we will see what happens in days to come. thank you very much, new research showing younger and newly ordained catholic priests in the us are becoming more conservative even as the vatican and worshipers are moving more liberal. jonathan morris, our resident theologian joins me now. is the catholic church moving toward the schism, divide here? >> the number of priests is coming down a lot. since the 1950s which was the peak, has come down massive amounts. those that are entering the priesthood, i was a catholic priest for a long time, seek dispensation from pope francis to leave. the numbers of come down, the numbers of come down, those who are going and are much more
10:21 am
conservative. why? because in order to make that decision, to do that in a society that is going -- you have to be countercultural at some level. in the 50s most catholic priests were very conservative. it was a conservative society. in the 70s, as there was a major social rupture many of the catholic priests went along with that and then young men right now going into looking at this as a possibility says why but i want to join something in order to be just to go with the flow. i want to make a difference, there is a big change. i wouldn't call it a schism but those entering the priesthood are more conservative. dave: they get in because they are fed up with the relativism in our culture and truth and relativism, is the dichotomy. do you believe in truth?
10:22 am
it gets back to the trial of jesus, we are in the christmas season so i can harken back to that when pilate asked jesus what is truth? of truth is not relative, you can't appreciate a lot of the relativity going on in the vatican for example and also among some of the more liberal priests. >> the question, what is truth? think about that. what is truth? you are already doubting the fact that there is anything to be objectively better than anything else. dave: the relativist -- >> if there is no truth, nothing objectively always good or bad, then nobody can have any opinion that is better than anybody else and that is a sad place to be in our culture. dave: let's talk a good place to be in our lives, your christmas message this christmas. >> what jesus did for us is the

10:34 am
on my radar but i don't think that's where this is headed. we seem to be mainly within omicron. we have a lot of immunity here from omicron because of all the people that have had it and because of the vaccine put down a blanket of immunity across the country. dave: one thing we do have is a bad flu season, this rsv thing going, some covid cases but the question we were talking about, there 0 covid policy which was a disaster but we had so much masking and social distancing and everything maybe we have lost some of our natural immunity because of those factors we had in our system, for good reasons but is that why we had this outbreak of flu and rsv and the other things? >> in a word yes but let me put it in public health terms. i think public health is about looking at the ramifications of what you do. what happens if you lockdown,
10:35 am
you don't get exposed to that. you don't have any immunity and your immune system pauses. it is not used to seeing that virus. might take 2 or 3 days to wake up. it is not damaged but might take a few days to wake up. by that point you are very sick and it is spreading so that's why we are seeing the triple pandemic. it is related to all the lockdowns my closures and distancing. we were micro focused without thinking of long-term public health consequences which we were talking about it. dave: doctor siegel is my doctor. i got rsv, i didn't have a test because i didn't go to your office but it is a nasty bug. i had one hundred 2 temperature. it is something you want to avoid.

and threw it to the side. a couple weeks later, i seen it again after getting not so pleasant news from my physician. i was 424 pounds, and my doctor was recommending weight loss surgery. to avoid the surgery, i had to make a change. so i decided to go with golo and it's changed my life. when i first started golo and taking release, my cravings, they went away. and i was so surprised. you feel that your body is working and functioning the way it should be and you feel energized. golo has improved my life in so many ways. i'm able to stand and actually make dinner. i'm able to clean my house. i'm able to do just simple tasks that a lot of people call simple, but when you're extremely heavy they're not so simple. golo is real and when you take release and follow the plan, it works.

i want you to start with the wall street journal editorial that appeared today, now new york democrats tell us they have second thoughts on taxing the rich adding it is donning on some new york democrats the state's deep income tax rates are driving away top earners who fund essential public services. if only this wisdom had visited them before they raised taxes, this is happening in democrat states all over the country where they have driven the main source of revenue to places like texas and florida where there are no state taxes. >> in his ear of direct deposit, you don't feel the tolls hit your car, don't really see the cash, you use your credit card and usually a lot of people watching us get direct deposit, they don't flip to the back and see how much taxes are taken out, you probably do and the host of fox business but average people

don't and i have to remind myself to go do that. unbelievable how much they take. for every $10 we make they keep and then you're vilified if you give to the system, they pretty much disbanded and discarded you if you were bill deblasio or governor cuomo, hochul came out and said if you want -- we don't want to pay the taxes good riddance. to adams's credit, he never felt that way, he reached out to florida saying you've got to come back, we want you b new york, high income earners pay 51% of all the taxes so 50 one% of taxes paid by the top 2%, when you lose 11% of your top earners in the last 2 years that truly hurts at a time in which you are stressed between no one riding the subways providing the revenue, no one

driving mass transit and think how much money is spent on illegal immigrants we are forced to house because we are century city. dave: you didn't throw in the fact that all the covid money is drying up that they got from federal taxpayers, we are growing broke and i suspect the same in california come a they had this huge surplus because of covid money and silicon valley, now that money is drying up, they will be in deficit as well. i want to switch to a hard-hitting interview. you watch all these things you've been talking about on fox entrance, president biden in the first lady sat down with one of the toughest interviews i've ever seen with actress drew barrymore. i want to play a little bit and get your reaction, role tape. >> you say that you are a good gift giver. jill's favorite room in the house, do know what it is. when doctor biden wants to be a little naughty, what snack does she get do from the white house kitchen. doctor biden has a free friday

night does she want to go out or stay in? dave: who says biden doesn't do hard-hitting interviews, come on. >> no offense to drew barrymore, her afternoon audience has lighter fare, that's why he said yes, you think you wants to sit down with bret baer or david asman or bill hemmer, do you think he wants to sit down with tucker carlson, no, he has no good answers. he could say look how great my economy is doing, he thinks it's doing great, he could say look at my election, last the house but gained a seat in the senate so he could decide to do that now, just so different from the previous -- the previous occupant -- dave: trump love the tough questions because he could play with it as only he could. before you go we have breaking news and i know you are interested in the live golf

club, that division that was being boycotted by the masters, the masters just cried uncle and live golf players can now play in augustine national. what does that mean? >> that's one major and it's great. the best players in the world, 2 thirds of which paid more, there was more of a format they liked, when you're in the tournament you played all the days and more appearance fees so live took a lot of great players and then we are the pda, how dare you, they say okay, if you play the european tour or the japanese tour or the eastern tour, why can't you play for each other's tour? better players can go, this can include coming together, tiger woods told greg norman, i will not support this, craig norman said i'm not going anywhere so this is the first break, it is good for the game.
