tom: christmas is just 4 days away, jack frost, is trying to ruin everything, freezing temperatures, a massive blizzard and a bomb cyclone. threatening to travel, to spoil the travel plans for millions. joining us now. from fox weather. is the latest with ion oliver. >> all bad news with this one. this is brutal forecast any week, it happens to come in days immediately leading to christmas, a couple of most busy travel days of whole year. thursday and friday. that is when the storm will be at its worst, these are winter weather alerts, these run into christmas weekend. blizzard warnings up for northern plains too the great lakes, winter storm warnings, great lakes region to south from there, and western parts of the

northeast, we may see these expand east. there are blizzard conditions, snow is likely one of lesser factors with this storm. it will be wind and this bitter arctic coal cold, look at windchill alerts for over 100 million americans from canadian border all the way to northern gulf coast. this is a huge problem, how widespread this is. as we head on through the next couple days, these are not windchills, they are air temperatures, watch this forecast. you can see clearly where that arctic air. is marching across the coun country -- 2 p.m. central time, omaha 6 degrees below zero, dallas down to 23 degrees, st. louis at 8, you watch that cold front continue to progress off to the east,

this takes over the central and eastern part of the country this now friday morning, 6 a.m. central, nashville at 4 degrees above sere qzero and indy fe4 degrees below zero, and dallas at 14 this is generating a lot of problem that is with arctic air. and windchill. thursday to friday, this storm system ramps up during this time period. bombs outsides we call it droops more than 24 mill millibars in 24 hours, this is bringing warm air, that area of low pressure up to canada. bringing heavy rain with that, up to quebec, a huge problem, a big travel week, a big ski week next week, in between christmas and new years, a nice storm that

blanketed the country last week now rain up to canadian border, and temperatures up to 50s. that is is not good for holding on to snow. here is snow forecast, you have some of these areas, some of these tallies have trended down. all other things that we were talking about that will make it impactful, areas east of l.a. michigan, some enhaenhancement off ontario, chicago, about 3 to 6 inches of snow, timing with this, a huge problem, here is the rain. all the way to northern new england, yellows and orange, they indicate 2 to 5 inches of rain possible. as this stem moving on through. we have talked about that not the wind gusts yet, to 60 to 70 miles per hour, that is this area of low pressure, really starts to crank moving over great lakes, it there will be a period of time in particular for high tide cycles friday morning, live
