and probably the top - the reason for that is we -- the reason for that is we are more bullish than most. we think it is negative right now, we have deflation going on. the fed should pause right away. lauren: what are you looking at? >> the housing sector, the key driver of all -- for recession and deflation, 41.7%, and the problem is the commerce department's reporting 9. 6% annualized rate, you can look at case shiller, it is declining so there's roughly a 12 month lag of cpi to what is really going on, we have an index you can get on our website that is real-time inflation and that has been negative for the last quarter. lauren: do you think we will see a recession? and if so when? deutsche bank is saying a lot of people are agreeing there

would be a rally in the back half of the year but deutsche is saying you get recession the back half of the year? >> we are the reverse. first quarter is negative because of statistical aberrations, can't really measure the first quarter because there's a decline from the christmas quarter so you could get a negative print that could be down for the stock market as people can overreact to that but we think the economy is resilient for the same reason, we have a shortage of homes, the all-time low and the estimate is 2 million cells a normal cycle is not going to happen, mass layoffs and then less consumer spending because you have unemployment. that is our thesis, we have a technical recessional roughly slow growth, you have to be seen. lauren: kevin o'leary you should a stark warning on cryptos, more unregulated

lauren: the biden administration says the number of border encounters with migrants from cuba, nicaragua and haiti are down from december, but that is only because title 42 was kept in place. matte finish at the border in eagle pass, texas. what is the latest where you are? >> reporter: the biden administration says the weekly average from those countries has plummeted 97% from december to january, those numbers speak for themselves, they don't paint the entire picture for a couple reasons. those numbers are only referring to four countries, haiti, cuba, nicaragua and venezuela, four countries out of the one hundred 40 the cross into the us. number 2 and perhaps more notable the migrant encounters from the biden administration do not include the got aways,

without further dismantling the right to asylum at our border. this is a pillar of the postwar international order to which the united states has committed itself. do you think the policies are too strict? >> the biden administration is not following the law. senators and house members can complain all they want but it is enshrined in the law. to meet the standard to claim asylum it is called credible fear. the credible fear standard has two parts to it. the second part, you have to look at it, an immigration judge has to say yes, you have fear of prosecution and if you return to your home country you will most likely be tortured. to say i seek refuge from climate change, because they don't like gay people in my community or there are problems -- those are excuses but they

don't meet the legal standard, that is why the overwhelming majority of these claims get rejected, they get sent back. of these people were humane, what they should do is allow these people to claim asylum in their country where we already have facilities to do so. by the way, if you don't go to a port of entry, you come up to the middle and go across the border which the drug cartels want them to do, you are supposed to be detained, fined, incarcerated and deported, that is the current law. so congress, look at your self, if you don't like it introduce a bill but democrats don't introduce that bill, they just complain about it. >> dpt wrote a bill, legislation to regulate artificial intelligence and now congress and ted lu wants congress to pass it. is the congressman that codes. is this a smart idea? republican national committee members will vote today for
