because boring oil has been under the gun. there's this whole macro trade that's happening where people are not looking at individual companies, they're just saying, oh, recession is inevitable. therefore we should sell anything that's hurt under a recession and the assumption being, well, if we're going into a recession, that means oil demand goes down, oil stocks are not going to make as much. sell the oil stocks. i disagree and think it's one sided and understand the logic behind it and it's one sided and imperfect because we're not going into a recession. my point is the oil stocks got to where i want to own them. stuart: almost every analyst on the show is looking at the fed. are they going to pivot, are they going to --->> so sick and tired of it. stuart: never goes anywhere. >> can we get on with the rest of our lives and business and focusing on employment, focusing on earnings, focusing on all the wonderful things happening in the country. stuart: you're in the financial business. do you have to take account of what the fed is likely to do and not likely? >> i do. unfortunately i do and have to

have an opinion on it and my opinion is that the fed is almost done raising rates, and actually i would argue that the bond market is saying the same thing. fed fund futures say the fed will be done at about 5 5.25. we're at 4.75 right now and within two or three more hikes of being done and remember, stocks always look forward by six months, which means the stock market's saying, okay, it's done. i think that's why actually stocks have been rallying. it's not a straight line and some days, a week ago down a lot. i think, i think we're turning that corner. oil has been hit by the notion we're not turning the corner but i think we have. stuart: can i put you in the bull camp? >> oh, gosh yes. i've been in there for months and for some of the months i've been wrong. again, if you focus on the two es of earning and employment. employment is as strong as ever and earnings not as bad as we thought and those two es, earning ands employment, are what ultimately are telling the story. stuart: adam johnson, thank you,

sir. much some movers for us, lauren. lauren: grand theft 'auto people are up 2% and sony is looking to buy them likely in response to microsoft trying to buy activision blizzard if that gets the green light. stuart: silver gate capital, i looked it up. they're crypto. lauren: correct and they're crashing and pull up the stock. they won't be able to file their annual report on time. down 43%, and they're now evaluating their ability to stay in business. what did you say, adam? >> i said i own it, and it's really ugly and it's embarrassing and upsetting. i thought the two crypto companies were coin base and silver gate and everybody uses them to revert currency into crypto and route into the right exchange. for that reason alone, they're the right infrastructure and i've been wrong and it's painful. i've got egg on my face today. stuart: you're admitting it.

bipartisan appetite for a bill banning tiktok and that's because there's so many proposals floating around right now on both the house and senate sites. this one that you mentioned, it passed the foreign affairs committee yesterday. it is sponsor is republican congressman mike mccall and he tells me that the bill would give president biden the authority to sanction and ban any chinese controlled company that could be participating in espionage or intelligence gathering, aka tiktok. >> if you have the app on your iphone, you're susceptible to having a backdoor in your phone. we saw the spy balloon incident that took place across the united states, and i would argue that tiktok is like a spy balloon in your iphone. reporter: in its defense against mccall's bill, the social media company is positioning itself as somewhat of a champion for american values even though its owned by chinese parent company

stuart: back to the markets, the dow is up a solid, call that 117 points, 131%, not bad. s&p down 57, down a half percentage point. sorry, the nasdaq down half a percent point and s&p down 7. some democrat senators are calling on meta to stop a plan to release a meta verse app to teenagers. lawmakers wrote a letter to mark zuckerberg to criticize the past failures to protect children. meta stock down only just. apple abruptly closed a store in north carolina. ashley, tell us what happened. ashley: yeah, permanently closed its store. the north lake mall in charlotte yesterday just one day after the shopping center experienced its third shooting since december. it's one of two stores that the company omi operates in charlote and apple release add statement

this is a relief rally and the beat on sales profit guidance, 25 analysts price target hikes on this relief rally, 250, some going up to 250 and that's about 20% upside on the stock. most calling for 225 and i said again to you, 10% growth in any other year for sales force will be considered disappointment but it's a stock bye back being doubled to $20 billion and that's also helping the bottom line. stuart: i want to know about wal-mart. susan: yeah, wal-mart says they're opening 28 new health center locations next year, 2024. wal-mart, the largest grocery by sales in america, kroger is the largest by store. when you know that kroger had a beat to end last year and increasing their dividends and they're cutting back on stock buy backs in order to reduce debt to buy albertsons, a $20 billion acquisition. really interesting about the state of grocery and why i brought up wal-mart, both of them are seeing that they're seeing an especially strong trade down from wealthier

wouldn't that do it? we're all looking for ways of stopping this dreadful killer surge. i put it to you, a wall is the best and frankly the only way. >> well, physical infrastructure along that border we know works. just look at the history and look at data and facts. it does work, it helps secure that border. this whole idea that the left is pushing that we're only picking up fentanyl coming between ports of industry, we're only picking it up there because that's the only place we're catching it. we know that the cartels love to surge large bodies, large populations of migrants over the border so that border patrol resources surge to that area so that they can then smuggle illegal narcotics across the border in other areas of the desert and along that river. we know this, this is proven fact. law enforcement agents, border patrol acts know it. the fact that the biden administration continues to not say this, to not tell the american people the truth is doing a disservice.

individuals coming across that border illegally over the past two years than any time in our history, all of that money, every individual that crosses the border paying cartel members and all that money going back into the illegal narcotics trade and this administration is funding the cartels to continue to pedal fentanyl across the border. until we get serious or change our policies and/or go after the cartels, none of this will change. stuart: we know who runs the cartels. you're a forming acting dhs guy. wee know who they are, don't we? >> it takes political will and they're omitterring in a foreign country and mexico in this case. so it becomes difficult because you want a liaison with the mexican government but there's elements of the government that are compromised and so it becomes a lits l more difficult
