illegal immigration and homelessness. and it's very interesting, because a lot of money is thrown at both of these problems, and i think both tend to proliferate. so what is the correlation in your mind between homelessness and illegal immigration? >> well, among other things, like you mentioned, they're very, very similar problems. we clearly do not have the answers to them here in the california where i think it's more than half of all the homeless people in the united states reside in the beautiful state of california. but we also have a handful of million undocumented people who live and work and, in many cases, do distribute to our society -- contribute to our society here in california, but we don't know what to do. we simply do not have the right answers in terms of making sure these problems don't continue to exist and, most importantly, don't continue to proliferate. in the time that, for example, gavin newsom has been the governor of the state of california, one of the first

things he said when he was sworn in was he wanted to eradicate and eliminate homelessness in california. it's doubled in size since he's been here. now, it's not entirely his fault, but it's one of those issues where if you cannot firmly define what the problem is, homelessness in california a lot of it happens to be mental illness, drug abuse and things like that, if you concentrate on things like the price of housing in california, you're never going to crease the issue. st t very similar. alejandro mayorkas clearly does not have a grasp on what the problems are along the border. he needs to, i don't know, i guess craft a new undercover boss episode where he aches his tasselled loafers down to the border and walks alongside the men and women of i.c.e. and cbp and sees for himself what the actual problems are. kennedy: yeah. and ted cruz made the point, ted cruz was not in a friendly mood today, but he was, like, the people who work for you hate you. it's a really tough job right
