it's time for the president to get real, perhaps i should say get honest is at the moment he's not passing the pinocchio test. again -- glenn kessler of the washington post awards pinocchios according to the degree of honesty or dishonesty. he has just awarded biden a bottomless pinocchio because biden endlessly claims to have cut the deficit why one. $7 trillion, that's not true yet he made the claim 30 times most recently during his reelection announcement. if only we could ask some questions. his bottomless pinocchio status could be challenged but as we saw from the cheat sheet only approved questions get answered. he sent his press secretary out to take the heat but she turns the president's spin into an insult. earlier this week she said republicans were fighting to put fentanyl on the street. this from an administration that is supposed to bring us together.
10:03 am
the good news it is not working. voters believed biden cut the deficit or controlled the border or kept fentanyl out or brought the country together he would be riding high in the polls but he's not. 's approval rating dropped to a new low. a mere 37%. i said the president should get real, get honest but can't see it happening. if he was honest on the economy, the deficit, the border, his deals with china, defund the police, he would be admitting to gross failure and not going to do that when you just announced for a second term. second hour of varney just warming up. stuart: all right. tammy bruce always with us on friday morning. wearing red. hope she's fiery today.
10:04 am
can biden afford to answer questions? >> he can and he can't. this would be remarkable movements for the country because president biden if he was honest, we see this happen before, where he seems surprised or has an answer for the far left and gets corrected and then climbs up. what is horrible about president biden is his cynicism. he's decided to go along with this. i believe he knows a lot of this is not renting care because he likes being president. it has to be a seductive office to hold and this is what you always imagined being for the last 50 years of your career so he sold out but he has sold out the country. he can't answer questions. they deluded themselves, they think we are okay so far. we are going to keep doing this and it is because they don't respect the american people.
10:05 am
they have contempt for the people, they lie to themselves, they lie to everyone else, look at the condition of the world, we lost effectively four embassies around the world, the economy has effectively collapsed, it's like a slow rolling collapse. you've got the border going to get worse with title 42 being over. it is a shocking turn of events and the american people, it's horrible to see the low approval rating but it is appropriate because of what is happening in the country. stuart: back to biden's cheat sheet, the white house called this cheat sheet entirely normal. watch this. >> it is entirely normal for president to be briefed on reporters will be asking questions or press conference, and issues they might ask about. it's not surprising that yesterday we would anticipate questions that he did receive, the visit with the south korean president. we don't have specific questions in advance. that's not something that we do. stuart: i'm not sure about this
10:06 am
entirely normal. my question is who is really the president of the united states? >> the constitution requires us to know that, so there can be repercussions if there's a problem but this is what the left tries to do, normalize the abnormal, normalized what way do not want so they can say this is normal. it might be typical for them but it is not normal. donald trump was always out there answering questions whatever what happens so americans have a recent example of how a president can and should operate and it is just they are telling us to not believe our lying eyes, we saw what happened and they continue to just roll on with the series of lies. we got a chance to change it. stuart: we do in a few months. always good, thanks very much. how about this one. if president biden is reelected he will be 86 by the end of his second term. what is nikki haley saying? neil: what a lot of people are
