out about banking troubles again and i think that overshadowed things so for now i think the markets are okay with where the central bank is the goldilocks situation. stuart: tell me about applicable big deal reports this afternoon, most widely held stock, i think it's most profitable company in the world, i'm not quite sure. what do you expect? >> i do expect they are going to give good numbers relative to expectation. you and i have talked for years about not liking this expectations games but unfortunately it's the one we are playing. i think the interesting thing to look at for apple long-term is how they are using their platform. they just opened up high interest savings account for iphone using and it got $1 million of deposits over a short

period of time, amazing what they can do pushing things out, asking their subscribers to do something. stuart: i do find the interest-bearing account from apple interesting. it brought in a billing dollars, i think in four days or something like that. that is a challenge for established banking system, isn't it? >> it sure is in one reason we see thanks fail is because they are offering savings, .02% or someone like apple or allied bank or any high interest savings accounts are offering four and a quarter. it's a big difference in you and i would take that, anybody wo would. stuart: thank you very much. about to open the markets and we are in business. lucy reading is morning, how do

we close? i have no idea. a lot depends on the apple report after the closing bell. as we can see, a few stocks are up, i'm looking at ten and about 20 down on -- i'm sorry, the dow 30. lost control of them out this morning. it's always bad news in my business. the dow is down 67 points. that's a fraction of 1%, .2%. the s&p 500 done a quarter% and nasdaq is down about exactly one quarter 1%. big tech everyday, we've got amazon up and microsoft the alphabet, but and of times. that's what we're going to start. a report after the ball. susan is back. >> institute conference in los angeles. >> i know the company that the

back of my hands, we are expecting a decline in sales today. this is a quarter where they always talk about cash return to investors so expect an announcement of the same rate of buybacks we saw last year, $90 billion or so and this is, apple has become a cash cow like an atm machine to get back to their investors which is why warren buffett holds it as his single largest holding period from the last decade, apple has returned $600 billion in stock buybacks, more than any other company on the planet the last decade or so. i think this quarter we are still buying back at the same rates as last quarter, we had 5% decline because of the production in china, i think the most important part today will be hardware sales and where we are in the cycle of his iphone 14 and whether it continues to sell after the holiday shopping especially with reduction snags.

stuart: quick question to adam who is not with us, if it's a disappointing report, it's investors are disappointed and apple talk comes down, as the whole market compound? >> there's probably a hiccup but with apple you say i could now come in and by apple at 155, it was 170 a month ago, i'll buy some. what they are doing in india is exciting, if they can turn india into what they make china, earnings will go up 30% over the next 12 to 18 months so does the excitement about apple right n now. it's not a quarterly report. stuart: anheuser-busch, the big beer and they are not spirit, a be a company, gigantic. they reported this morning. the controversy over the trans, bud light, that that does not appear in this report. >> i was looking at the guidance and i think bud light is a very small part of anheuser-busch is

business. you saw sales go up 13%, i saw strengthen in other bands as well so short-term public relations problem but long-term in terms of sales, i don't see it in the earnings itself. stuart: want to come to you for shady bank and then adam on the overall market impact. pack west down 41% as we speak. was going on? >> exploring all options and you have other analysts and brokerage advising them with this possible issue in multiple potential investor talks to maximize shareholders. holding from the markets with investors, they think the worst of the banking crisis has already passed us. jp morgan, first republic and silicon valley bank so a slight regional issue but not systemic in their view. stuart: is that why the overall market is not selling out

despite real trouble at pack west? >> i would say there really isn't real trouble, there's perceived trouble. the bank itself cannot say we've seen an outflow of deposits so i think it's built by association. several other west coast banks with problems, silicon valley, first republic, silicate etc. and people say is an of the california regional. there must be a problem. no, maybe there's a perception of a problem if they haven't had the outflows. stuart: so they can take care of this one. >> they need to take care of the other four failures. stuart: let's move on, another reported company, phillips, what do they got? >> they boosted their guidance which is good, somebody dollars a barrel and they will announce they will wrap up there mission outputs. you want to talk about serial? talking about and procter & gamble if you're able to raise prices enough to cover inflation, sales have not been heard so people continue to spend, kellogg's boosted their guidance as well. stuart: down 82%. >> this is maybe you by on this reaction. stuart: the dharna. >> despite a dip in sales like covid vaccines, the total in the first quarter, it was down expected, better-than-expected on the bottom line. stuart: i always make a comment whenever i see cruise lines, so here we go again, a solid gain. as a cruise business back? >> i keep telling you about airlines and cruise lines as well so along with the other players, they are seeing more bookings search, people are to get back out and travel. stuart: do you remember leaders?

if you think about the broader context of this, what you see ucs and the delays and you don't understand. if you dig beneath the surface a little more, probably in my opinion, the biggest issue we have in america broader infrastructure but specifically air travel, air traffic control systems. the most outdated and i would say obsolete system almost the entire world there are 60 countries that have better and newer outdated systems to control air traffic and what it does, we are always safe regardless but to stay safer, we don't let planes in the air so if there's any destruction, travel or otherwise, everything is slow down and pushed back. stuart: to have a hard time retaining staff front up to customers? they are in a difficult position, they are taking all the heat from the traveling public because of the promise of the airport, can you keep them

employed? >> you try. there's a lot impacted, the numbers todd mentioned, we are replenishing and it's growing significantly but retention has always been an issue, it's a hard job which is why is so critical and important in a lot of parts of my book on the concept of how you build a culture of friendly and part of that is treating employees like you want them to treat your customers. stuart: you mentioned your book and the have and to hold it here, is called turnaround time, uniting airlines and employees and the friendly skies. i have looked at a little, you have a new art. i didn't know that. you had a heart transplant how many years ago? >> 2016. stuart: that's just one series of crisis you've gone through. >> i had several. stuart: which was the worst?
