it's not hurting nasdaq right now. >> that's i think because the fed done raising rates. inflation is coming down. i don't know how many of our viewers realize because you go shopping, it's still expensive but the producer price index at one time was rising 11.7%. it's now down to 2.5%. inflation is coming way down which is what gives the fed cover to stop raising rates. >> however, we got revised statistics on wage growth, it was down in the past quarter. originally they said it was up 4%, it's down i think .7% so american workers are so underwater, under as low as inflation has gotten, americans are still hurting. >> wages have risen but not as fast as inflation so they actually lost ground. this will sound weird but

there's a silver lining to that because wages are obviously a portion of cpi, calculation. thus inflation so as wages go up less, inflation goes up less and in the same way, if home prices come down a little bit, that lowers cpi so there is a silver lining. >> but not for those in power because american voters are ticked off they are losing, they are underwater with inflation and they will vote for change. >> of course they are. we've already seen a and the fact that speaker mccarthy was able to get the deal through last week lowering spending with the democratic white house that wants to do the opposite with the democratic senate that wants to do the opposite, that's major victory for mr. mccarthy and the republican party.

it goes for change over the next 18 months. >> and at the very least, it strengthens the republican desire not to raise taxes, we know president biden wants to raise taxes if reelected, he will try to do that again assuming democrats don't take over the house, it will be difficult for him to do that with america's reaction to what's happening here. >> everyone steps back and says where have we been and where are we going? if you look at the professional investment community, there's never been so many professional traders market. highest since 2008 it look at the market and it is to change. i think it speaks to the optimism i try to tap into as the guy who runs the american ingenuity portfolio. you can't bet against this country or get to negative because it comes back.

we are seeing that right now and i think the markets are leaving and. >> where would you spend your money? >> i have the big tech stuff, apples and amazon and google's but things are starting to broaden out so the second tier of tech, salesforce.com, palo alto software for security, the next ones are starting to broaden out and people are going to start feeling more comfortable going further out on the risk spectrum. >> for you as impressed with amazon is a lot of people are? >> i am long amazon what they are doing across the board is exciting. expanding the retail base, amazon web services, i think what google is doing with artificial intelligence is exciting, i was buying and people have said you lost it

buying nvidia. you have to be willing to go against the grain and there's a lot of exciting stuff and innovation right now. >> good stuff and stay right here. gen z starting to dip their toes into the world of investing, what's the most common investment? >> it's not stocks, not bonds, 50% of investors, those born in the early, currently invest in crypto growing up during tech change, social media, access to investing according to a new report but experts warn while young people can afford to take investment risk using crystal as a linchpin of portfolio, it's risky due to volatility especially if they do not diversify. >> i don't want to embarrass anybody particularly in my

the rnc republicans launching their bank your vote campaign pushing for republicans to vote as early as possible in 2024. ronald mcdaniel, the chair of the rnc joins me right now it looks like you're taking a page from the democrats book from 2020, right? >> we've been doing this for a long time and states like florida ohio and i will there are states changing their laws post 2020, pennsylvania is a great example. we have to get into these states and change the culture and educate voters on the importance of the boat and i say this, don't wait until the fourth quarter to put points on the board when you have four quarters. you don't want to do last quarter of the game so this is what we have to do as republicans, 50 days available of voting, with got to think the vote early and a big part is knowing republicans will protect the boat, extensive poll watchers and pull workers and lawyers in the ground to make sure your vote is protected

through that timeframe. >> are you looking primarily at the senate right now in terms ot presidential and a second but there are all kinds of the advantages republicans have going into 2024, you think you can take over? >> i do, we have an exceptional month, democrats have 21 seats, republicans have seven. the opposite of 2022. this is our best map to take back the senate with states like west virginia, ohio, pennsylvania. >> you mentioned west virginia, joe manchin a danger? >> absolutely in danger taking that vote on the inflation reduction act which of course was the green new deal that her people in west virginia hurt him in that race and got candidates like the governor of west virginia and drink that race is popular, we are going to win that. >> i want you to look at new york times headline, i usually don't look at new york times headlines but the struggling, robert kennedy junior pushes

machine. >> sometimes machines lose, look at donald trump in 2016. >> this is the new york times trying to downplay rfk because they know how weak biden is. they're trying to say he's like a republican to make sure democrats don't vote for him because it's what they are doing to protect the weakest president with low on approval whose change the whole primary calendar and won't debate because he so unpopular, even his own party doesn't want him so they are doing biden a favor with the article. i'm not worried about running against either of them, republicans will have the right candidate and will win the white house with the right message. >> a strategy running against biden who represents the product of the democratic party or rfk junior, could you which depending on who's the final contender? >> i don't think it's going to be rfk junior, it's going to be biden and we are preparing for that. let's make sure we beat him and you've got to go to bank your

chicken with futures again, the dow and s&p 500 are down but just barely. the nasdaq is barely up a little bit even though interest rates are going up. dr barton joins me, let's talk about vicks first of all. thanks for being here. does this mean it's a good or bad time to hike? some say is healthy and some say is healthy when it's down. investor sentiment is positive but people like warren buffett said is the time to be nervous, are you? >> i think when people are

getting on one side of the vote, that's when everyone is on one side we should be nervous and we should be greedy when others are fearful and vice versa. right now the fear gate is way down, it does that when we have long of moves so some people have been talking it could be a bad thing from my perspective and research, it's a good thing we get along, grinding bull markets when they do come. >> what could surprise? what are you most concerned about happening in the economy policy decisions in washington, whatever? >> you talked about it already, a bit with adam as well what happens when other countries raise rates we didn't expect, things like that happen. if the fed decides they have to raise rates, i don't see it

happening in june, maybe later on. that would slow down things and anything that looks more inflationary than we are getting right now, i think inflation has been acting nice lately going down, not where we want it but all of those things are troublesome. >> fifteen seconds but i've got to ask about ibm, why? >> the overlooked ai stock. one of the original ai places, they did well in 2022 when the market did, 5% yield and they just had a little technical breakout so i like it for all those reasons. >> there is the opening bell, thank you very much. look at the big board, let's start with the dow, it's down just about where was when we started, down just a fraction of a%, it could go either way. close to flatlining. if we could switch to the

nasdaq, tech stocks, originally they were doing pretty well. now they're just about flat, up about eight points on the na nasdaq. s&p, do we have s&p showing? trading up about half a percentage. big tech, let's look at the big companies here, we got a split decision between the stocks, alphabet and meta- are down but amazon, microsoft and apple trading up right now in the early trading. let's check out game stop, they had a major shakeup in their leadership. taylor raises here. take me through the changes and why it is a bumpy ride. >> your down about 19% in the market, the ceo is out, we heard he's been fired without cause,

the company saying they are not going to give us a reason for it. we got quarterly results, better than expected. top blind not so good but for me the problem is, i want to hear from company executives with the future outlook is for the company. ryan : formally at game stop taking over executive chairman for now, a lot of insurgency going on. >> amazon, i've been hearing about amazon but they are making changes to their streaming service. i like their streaming service quite a bit, what are the changes? >> advertising to potentially which is interesting, third-largest advertiser market after google and meta. amazon tried to get it. netflix and disney addict advertising tears, it's about time amazon come in and it's great for these companies to diversify revenue stream, it could be a play on the. >> electric vehicle makers

delaying their shareholder vote, why? >> they need money and the vote to increase the share authorization this year approvals did not pass so they are moving to july 6. you need about 2% of the outstanding 100 million shares approval on that to increase, they are not getting it. >> there are reports that tesla is looking at building a new fauci, where would this be? >> tesla is going to stay in. europe's second largest ev market so good for them to get in. he always talks about china being the golden goose but don't ignore europe and the second largest market. reports tesla making a play for spain. >> cheaper labor. somebody is getting in to the chinese market. >> lucid. this is a company who's been struggling a little bit but you

need about 3 billion to fund this so you can see interesting they are up 3%. they are going to be raising up i believe about $3 billion to fund this expansion. they will need it, you have to be in china if you want to play in this space but they need the money to do it. >> everybody wants to play in a i ring out and adobe is incorporating ai into his services, how? >> not just ai but generative. a big note this morning from a $500 price target on the stock, 20% upside. you can see your gaining 3% or so this morning. otherwise looking at mostly in line results for the quarter from that company but ai -- reminds me of bit coin days, if you add points to the end of your name, your so popular. i think ai is a new bitcoin. >> i appreciate with nvidia but i'm wondering, i'm wondering if

adobe we talked about adobe, ebay, sherwin-williams. the nasdaq winners lucid, adobe, is the scaler and t-mobile at the bottom. check the tenure because we did see it going up a little bit and it's going down a little bit once the trading began, 2.7 basis points to 3.7%. gold is trading up about 1%, $20 just shy of that 2000 an ounce. bitcoin is up 29 to $26377 for a coin. oil trading up again, $72.67 a barrel. natural gas, let's see about natural gas trading down. the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.56 but in california, $4 in any 87 cents.

checking the markets, pretty flat day of these for the dow, literally .00 a second ago, it's conked out a little more but the s&p is positive, just barely. nasdaq is the best mover today and it's moving in the right direction, up about 42 points. look at amazon, only nobody i know you use everything that they, you buy one of these once every two years, every day you go with amazon and by something or look at amazon prime and is having a good day, up over 2%. the faa order ground delay at laguardia new york airports again because the poor air

quality. madison is at newark, my daughter lou in yesterday and she was delayed, the plane had to stop in pennsylvania but it did make it, the delay doesn't necessarily mean it's close, right? >> that's right, we are seeing delays yesterday and today and still expecting flights to make their way to these airports but don't expect it to be on time because breaking news, 20 minutes ago the faa announced all flights coming in newark airport are being delayed. all flights, look at the board, these are departures, still working okay but for planes to leave and airport they have to first arrive to an airport so we are anticipating is to change because we are starting to see flights coming in, not taking off from their original airports so newark joints philadelphia airport and stopped flights into philadelphia that originate from

the northeast, mid atlantic and ohio and that's do to low visibility. fox weather telling us pennsylvania will probably be one of the hardest hit areas today, looking at images he should expect conditions in philadelphia to get back this afternoon, similar to what we saw in new york yesterday and the faa saying looking at newark in philadelphia this will expand well beyond those two airports. there warning to expect delays, maybe cancellations if you fly into the new york city area, philadelphia area c area as well as charlotte, all areas the faa is keeping an eye on today. you can see why. look at the video we shot earlier today, a plane taking off, the smoke still in developing the area similar to what was yesterday, nothing like we saw yesterday when it was orange but still hazy, smoky conditions out there. when you look at the air quality, such an important part,

if you step outside, you smell the smoke but important to understand how bad it is and when you look at the northeast, you see air quality conditions incredibly poor and that's why people are being encouraged to stay inside as much as possible. we are seeing steps taken, google telling northeast employees to work from home to avoid being outside, mlb yesterday pushed to this evening, a doubleheader and the doubleheader is still on but obviously keeping an eye, when we get back to travel, we just heard from united airlines, issuing waivers for travelers traveling in and out of impacted airports. the flights are impacted. it's just the start of the trouble day yesterday, over 4000 delays in and out of not states airports, keeping an eye on the number today, we've gotten started on a rocky start.

all flights coming in, not good news for those trying to get into the new york area. >> masks are back in the streets of new york, madison, thank you very much. doctor marty makary -- conditions remain hazardous but i've been hearing from people, at least it's not hazardous, it's natural smoke as opposed to chemical buyers we saw in palestine or not like the 9/11 aftermath where there was toxic mix, should people feel safe or is natural smoke just as bad as chemical buyers? >> first of all, it's important to note every now and then there's a death related to fire smoke. back in 1966 new york city experienced a similar giant smoke cloud and 160 people died at that time but it is the

duration of exposure, it's not like you will catch a virus if you are exposed to the smoke for five minutes when you run to get water or food so that's important. the masks, you can wear them if they make you feel better but they don't work very well, it's related to the poor size of the actual size and the mask. there's a tiny article, they go deeper in the lungs, if you have asthma or respiratory disease, you've got to be careful. the masks don't work well especially a cloth mask. >> let's talk about new study, there's a new pill out there taking daily that can reduce risk of death by more than 50% in lung cancer patients and breast cancer patients, a separate drug increase survival rates and prevent recurring disease. tell us more about these pills. >> to the announcements of the cans of meaning, the first one is take rousseau, a medication

made by astrazeneca. reduced recurrence and increase survival in those with lung cancer and five-year survival went from 88% down -- up to 80% from 78% so another 10% of people in the study group made it to five years but only about ten to 15% of patients are eligible and these are people who have surgery first so it's not as if somebody has lung cancer all over their body will benefit from this drug. similar with breast cancer, reduce breast cancer recurrence and only in a subgroup of people with a certain type, hr pos positive, a sub type of breast cancer. unclear if it impacts overall survival but right now it really reduced recurrence of breast cancer in people. >> wonderful news for a lot of people out there.
