♪ ♪ elizabeth: happy friday. let's bridge back to the show grover norquist, head of americans for tax reform and ford o'connell. grover, first to you. that cnn report, top democrats and top donors now talking to other candidates to replace bind on the 2024 take iting that they're, quote, texting and e-mailing, making phone calls, big donors not locking in. the thing that also popped out, grover, democrat operatives compared biden to a house guest who's overstayed his welcome. is this a turning point? what do you think? >> well, it certainly seems to be coordinated. we even have the press talking about covering how he's abusive to staff, swears at them, bullies them. this has been known for a long time, and yet everybody held
5:03 pm
back from talking about it. the press knew about it, the hill staff -- many of these people have worked for biden, and all of a sudden everybody's agreeing to talk about it whereas before then you couldn't. and the press secretary still calls on the people in the press who are taking -- making those criticisms. so there seems to be agreement in the room this guy has to go. he polls below trump and other republicans whereas a generic democrat does better with. elizabeth: so what grover just said, reports there's still no campaign headquarters, till no staffers on the ground, no, you know, central points for people to go to in the swing states. ford, or when you saw this story given what grover's saying, is this a turning point right now? what do you think? >> absolutely. the democrats are on high arelater right now because they're concerned that donald trump could become the next president of the united states. and it's not the tripping and falling and the random outbursts. it's clear that joe biden is not
5:04 pm
all there. and also the campaign, lack of campaign activity. his fund raising is actually behind where donald trump and barack obama were at this point, so it would not surprise me if he actually is replaced, and the person he'd most likely be replaced with is california governor gavin newsom and a vice president to probably be approved by jim clyburn since he heads up the black caucus. elizabeth: grover, biden and the dnc raised far less than obama did at this point in 2011. it's something like $72 million, it's, like, 20% less versus obama's $86 million. there's no grassroots support. doubters say every day biden, you know, makes a gaffe or blunders and calls a lid early and is not doing full-on campaign rallies, grover. that raises even more doubts in voters' mind, reinforces to voters he's 80 years old and shouldn't run again. husband old age is a problem. >> -- his old age is a problem. >> well, and to pick somebody

other than biden is a wise move for the democrats. why run a candidate associated with high levels of inflation, with declining wages given inflation, who messed up in afghanistan and may have caused the problem in ukraine by his weakness in afghanistan with the kabul withdrawal. all of those negatives don't get handed over to the next democrat to announce he's running. oh, that wasn't me. elizabeth: to what grover just said, ford, but newsom? given what a basket case critics say california is? really? newsom? >> oh, there's no question that gavin newsom brings all the same problems to the table that joe biden does. the difference is that he is straight out of defensive casting. he's slightly younger, he's a halfway decent defensive communicator as we saw with sean hannity. and when it comes to the d.c. establishment, nancy pelosi, chuck schumer, he is just transagessal enough to lie and

do exactly what the democrats want in d.c. should he be elected. elizabeth: so now we've got biden signing an executive order authorizing the pentagon to call up nearly 3500 reservists for deployment to europe amid the war in ukraine. i mean, gop lawmakers are slamming the move. and today, grover, we had 49 democrats saying no to biden wanting cluster bombs for ukraine. now, democrats are pushing back against biden in congress. >> well, he's -- when the king gets old, everybody starts looking around to see who they have to be nice to now and who could step in. newsom could jump in, it could also be handed off to the governor of michigan. i mean, there are a number of different options. and it'll be a small group of people who make this decision. and biden will be offered whatever pardons he needs, but also a promise that the party will speak well of him and hold

out there at mma events. he is going places that republicans have never gone before and, frankly, not only is he getting stronger in the republican primary to your point, liz, he's also getting stronger in the general election. and let's not discount the possibility of a third party candidate and someone like cornel west because that will certainly hand the republicans the white house in 2024. elizabeth: yeah. peel away the votes from the democrats. grover, ford, great to see you both. back with us now, fbi special agent nicole parker. nicole, it's great that you joined us tonight. we appreciate it. so you saw the story, attorney general merrick garland tells house judiciary chair jim jordan that doj will make u.s. attorney david weiss available for a sit-down interview with house judiciary over those whistleblower allegations doj, fbi officials obstructed probes in order to help joe biden. what did you think of this story? >> you know, this is very, very important. americans want to know what is going on. and if mr. weiss is, indeed,

able to take charge of these investigations, then that's what needs to happen, and there needs to be no interference from anybody else at doj. elizabeth: so we've got, you know, weiss confirms an ongoing investigation into bribery allegations by a veteran fbi informant involving biden, hunter biden and the founder of burisma. when you saw that story, how serious did you think this was? is? >> i mean, this is, you know, extremely serious. like i said, americans deserve the know what is going on. i think that, you know, this week has been a very big week for the fbi and for involvement in these types of investigations. you know, the biden family has been looked at over and over, but the fbi and doj seem to be turning a blind eye or slow-walking these types of cases. elizabeth: so we've got house judiciary, another new scandal, a new investigation into why fbi officials spieded on two house staffers who worked for congressman devin nuñes in 2017 while he was on house intelligence and was investigating fbi for its botched trump-russia

courage especially when you're in a deep can blue district knowing that she will not be reelect after switching parties. i think she should probably run for statewide office and has a very bright future, but she's raised some very important issues. one, on education. she mentioned multiple times how, and some places within the state of georgia especially in the black community specifically, how they have a 3% rate of individuals or students who are actually succeeding, if i recall correctly. she's mentioned crime as another issue which is one that's very deeply important to me, deeply important to my family. and generally speaking, when we think about the african-american community voting for democrats, especially at the presidential level, over 90% of the time and getting little to nothing out of it and mostly nothing out of it, i think it is time for a lot of african-americans to begin to think very differently about the party which they support. specifically around the party, the democratic party who enjoys their support in order to win a
