elizabeth: okay, senator marsha blackburn is going to join us in a moment. we want to talk to former utah congressman jason chaffetz about this. jason, this really lit up and really broke apart the irs whistleblower hearing when marjorie taylor greene brought up hunter biden's abuse of women, treating them like, quote, office supplies, asking hunter biden transporting prostitutes across state lines, how can there is not a charge against hunter biden of violating the mann act? so this is when, you know, the hearing really lit up and fighting and shouting. >> well, no doubt this is, this was one of the more salacious parts of the hearing, and it's
5:41 pm
quite disturbing. but you cannot pay and put it off as a business expense the fly a prostitute across the country to perform, you know, sexual favors for somebody and then have is her go back with on an airline ticket. and marjorie taylor greene showed that airline ticket. now, also what came out in this hearing are hunter biden, for instance, one of the things that came out spending $10,000 for a golf club expense. well, it wasn't a golf club, it was a sex club. the irs whistleblowers also highlighted the idea that hunter biden paid for joe biden's hotel rooms on a particular trip. but it wasn't a business with expense, was it? or was it a business expense? because remember, wasn't it joe biden who said i've never had a discussion about any sort of business, overseas business dealings with my son? so several of these came out. i think the one thing i wish the hearing did more of is show how

that money was flowing. they did establish that there were millions of dollars that were flowing in to the bidens. they didn't pay taxes by the hundreds of thousands of dollars, but they weren't allowed to fully pursue these charges with the department of justice. elizabeth: got it. jason, thanks for stepping in there. let's bring in senator marsha blackburn. senator, an honor and a pleasure having you on. your reaction to the whistleblower hearing today in. >> well, jason was summing it up very well. i think that what we should do is, first of all, be very thankful that we have employees of the federal government who see the wrong being done, who see how government is being weaponized and politicized, and they are stepping up to call that out. that is a good thing. and whether it's irs or the fbi, to have people that say what you're doing is wrong and you cannot politicize these agencies

and use them against the citizens of this country, i'm grateful that they're there. elizabeth: what's striking is democrats undermining the whistle blowers. this is about honesty, integrity and justice being served and conducted right, in a correct way in the u.s. government. it's kind of -- viewers seeing thissing we talked to them, they found it really disturbing, the democrat behavior in this. this is also happening at the same time, senator, we need your reaction to this. we know we have a heat wave hitting the u.s. the biden's electric car push putting millions of new cars onto the power grid. the top u.s. grid regulator told house energy that china is a threat to the power grid? what was your reaction to this? >> when you hook at our -- look at our capacity to generate electric power and today i met with many of our public power distributers and we talked about what is happening, specifically
5:44 pm
some of the regulations that the epa and nepa pa are putting in -- nepa are putting in, they're making it very difficult to expand the grid. or for our power generators. elizabeth, what they're doing is turning to the generators and making it very difficult for them to increase the load that they generate. because they don't want gas, they don't want nuclear, they want renewables. but then you also look at the fact that transformers, they're going to increase the regulations on these electric power transformers our distributers use. and already are these transformers are at 95, 97% efficiency. so they want to change this. you've got a lot of costs there. you are not going to be able to get this. and so, therefore, who's going

to pay for it? it's going to be the rate payer, both the commercial and the residential rate payer. elizabeth: wow. senator blackburn, we're going to stay on these stories. thank you so much for your insight and perspective and coming on the show. it's great to have you on. okay, we're staying on the irs whistle blower hearing that's been going on. irs agents slamming the media, also the media and democrats for damaging and undermining government whistleblowers. they were all for them under trump, now not under biden. and a renewed senate push to ban congress stock trading. that's putting renewed focus on the timing of stock trades by nancy pelosi's husband coming around government legislation and the awarding of federal contracts. let's check in with our friends dagen and sean to see what they've got coming up next hour on "the bottom line." sean: we're going to dive into the story of the big hearing today, a lot of information came out. we have senator rick scott as well as kristi noem, governor of south dakota, talking about jason aldean and cmt canceling a
