pending home sale contract signs still not close. stuart: no reaction in the markets which interesting news for realtors, now this. it was an awkward moment. mitch mcconnell, minority leader in the senate froze midsentence as he addressed the media. he stayed silent for half a minute clearly confused. he was then led away by his colleagues. senator mcconnell is 80 one. two weeks ago president biden appeared confused and unintelligible during a meeting with israel's president. prior to that he slurred his words, lost his train of thought, stumbled and tripped. the president is ailing. we are about to see a generational shift in our political leadership. politics is all about votes. the oligarch needs the support of youngsters but they are not keen on voting for 80 somethings who are not physically or mentally robust. 2024, the current generation of leaders.

hard to see him in the oval office, the party is not keen and not getting the youth vote. 90-year-old diane feinstein is retiring. senate all mcconnell with a challenge to his leadership after his freeze yesterday. senate budget chair bernie sanders is 81. many which the socialists retire but his plans are uncertain. there is donald trump. he may be the exception to the rule. he 77, shows no sign of slowing physically or mentally but is not much of the youth vote. i since the country wants a new generation to take political power. there is frustration current leadership is bogged down with legal challenges in scandal not to mention the problem of age. one thing i learned in 50 years in america is america likes what is new. we accept change. generational change is coming

>> more rate hikes are challenging not only for banks but also challenging for small businesses, almost invulnerable is the residential housing sector. i did a study on the subsector of people to economists showing that despite tighter lending conditions, it's more challenging for banks and small business. if the economy remains resilient and we don't go into a recession, that is good news and yesterday what does the federal reserve say? staff is no longer forecasting recession. that's encouraging, the real gdp report, there's a lot more strength to this economy than people assumed. stuart: we have a 2.4% growth rate for the year in emerging from the second quarter of this year. i was expecting the growth rate to come down. i thought it would come down a little but it has gone up. is the economy expanding and getting stronger? much stronger?

>> the economy is getting stronger, we had weaker growth, the study of using proprietary data, small businesses are very vulnerable but again, much stronger real gdp and you are seeing a weaker value of the dollar which helps thomistic companies, small businesses because they don't have as much competition from foreigners, that will give you a good tailwind. all those people including myself that were expecting recession in 2024 if we get one it is going to be milder and that is why the equity market today and the last couple weeks have been less fearful of another fed rate hike. the good news is if you look at the futures market you see the probability of a future rate hike has been coming down. even if we get it with a

is a personal dispute between the wives of the foreign minister and xi jinping. in other words, it is not a complete division of the chinese communist party at the highest level. is that accurate? >> it is accurate. that's what they are warning the world, everything is fine, we don't want to say why he left but that's the chinese position. it makes me think this is a power struggle. this guy, the foreign minister is too close to xi jinping to disappear like this. a lot on china's reputation all around the world, we that you can rely on the communist party and by the way everything about him from the foreign ministry website loses speeches, it is all taken out, he's a nonperson right now. this brings up the worst kind of power struggles we have seen in the past in moscow and beijing. it is destabilizing.
