elizabeth: las vegas let's welcome to the show gop strategist ford o'connell. okay, ford, this ftx fraud, one of the worst in u.s. history. sam bankman-fried, he's hit with seven new charges. he's charged with using -- 100 million in stolen money from investors to donate mostly to democrats during the midterms. this is a lot of ftx baggage here for these politicians. >> there absolutely is, and if it were not for the biden foreign bribery allegations and the trump indictment, this would be the top political story of the day. he used $100 million in stolen customer funds ahead of the 2022 election to give away political donations mostly to democrats. there needs to be a lot of questions being asked on capitol hill right now. elizabeth: yeah. but, you know, the biden white house is silent on this because president biden took in ftx money, right? if i mean, more than $2 billion is still missing after ftx collapsed. again, to your point, bankman-fried was biden's second

biggest donor. >> that's exactly right. he was a very large donor to democrats, and because of that there are not a lot of questions being asked on capitol hill. how did he get around our federal election laws? how did he use straw donors in i mean, there's a lot of things going on here because there's a lot of -- something makes me think that sam bankman-fried may not be the only person doing this who's influencing our elections because we do know folks like george soros and others have given more money in politics. where. elizabeth: yeah. and this is invest or money that was stolen. we're talking $1996 -- 196 members of congress took direct contributions from either sam bankman-fried or other ftx executives. ford, that's more than 1 in 3 of the representatives and senators in the u.s. congress. i mean, we know that ftx managers, bankruptcy managers are lawing back the -- clawing back the moneyful they've got a million creditors. you don't hear a lot about who's giving the money back. >> that's exactly right, you don't, because a lot -- if folks

said type of conundrum. but if it is true, it's actually very sad because i think everyone here is probably at least a little bit aware of what happened with britney spears and her conservatorship. the only difference here is that if michael oher is telling the truth, he was under conserve forship this whole time and had no idea with. he was under the understanding that he was adopt by these parent if9. i hope that it's not true, but there is a few things that that need to be figured out. one is that if the too byes did, in fact, make money off of michael to her or and his name, image and likeness, that the money that they benefited there this went in the best interest withs of michael to her. none of that has been determined. something else i find very interesting about this whole case is that michael oher signed four different contracts between the years 2009 and 2019, so a 101-year span. and -- 10-year span. if you are the ward of a con serve to haveship, you can't sign your own contracts. you can't buy your own cars or

house. so the question is, did he sign his own contracts with the nfl? because if he did, then something's a little bit off here. finally -- and not to say that i'm more in line with the, the uohys -- tuohys, there's just a lot that needs to be figured out. perhaps michael oher recently demanded $5 is million from his -- $15 million from his adoptive the parents and said if they didn't pay up, he was going to leak a negative if story about them k and now we have this conservatorship -- so i don't really like it, it's kind of crazy. elizabeth: such a nasty story it's turning ugly. he's saying less than three months after he turned 18, the tieu byes tricked him into signing this document making them his conservators, gave them the legal authority to make business deals in his name. but they're saying, no the, before he filed this petition in tennessee in court, he demanded

$15 million. so it's just -- we don't know the money at stake, and you're right about his multiple teams in the football league. >> yeah. and the other thing is, is that because he was the age that he sign this conservatorship, it wouldn't have been something where he necessarily would have been adopted. he was already 18 years old. they're saying that we did everything in his best interests. this was more for the sake of being able to sign him to our health insurance and things of that nature that they thought was in his best interest when bringing him into their family. but, you know, an adoption wasn't necessarily the best route to take in that situation. so i don't know right now, there's just so many things that need to be figured out. but, you know, it was such a love arely movie, and i think we all kind of fell in love with the characters and what it symbolized and, you know, the steadfast love that this family experienced for this -- they didn't even call him an adopted child in the movie. never in the movie was it a laid out that it was an adoption.
