morning everyone. a very big news day, three huge stories, stunning nvidia, a spirited republican debate and russia, superpower in abject disarray. let's start with the money. nvidia leads the ai revolution in computing power, it away analysts expectations with another blockbuster profit report. more portly, it says good times will continue. just about everyone has raised the price target, premarket today, 500 one dollars a share, up $30. the dow industrials down slightly, s&p up slightly, look at the nasdaq. racing ahead to the tune of one hundred 40 points, close to one%, interest rates continue to soften, the 10 year treasury yields, got up a bit this morning, 422 but down from last week. the two year, that is below, it

is now 5. 0 one% interest rates edging up. let's get to politics. "my take" from the leading candidate at the debate, desantis, strong and forceful, tim scott didn't get much time, strangely he missed the postdebate swing room. vivek ramaswami got the most time and the most attacks. haley clobbered vivek ramaswami on foreign policy. mike pence dignified and occasionally aggressive. berman best line of the night. he joked about breaking a leg on the debate stage. my opinion it was a good debate about policy, large audience made for some real excitement, probably good that trump was not there. also on the show today, russia in disarray. vladimir putin likely behind the death of prigozhin . the russian economy sinking, it's arming ukraine not doing well, xi xinping can't be

moments. >> there were fiery moment at the debate last night which we will get to in a second but also substantive discussions about issues impacting the american people like the economy, border security, crime, and china. >> it isn't that complicated. unlock american energy, drill, frak, burn call, embrace nuclear. you have a cartels controlling a lot of your southern border, we have to reestablish rule of law and defend our people. >> the democrats talking about defunding the police for the last five years. we ought to be funding law enforcement in major cities, unprecedented levels. >> reporter: the candidates also sparred on funding for ukraine and abortion and some of them disagreed on whether they would support donald trump

has the nominee if he is convicted of a crime. entrepreneur vivek ramaswami tried to separate himself from the other candidates on stage calling all of them professional politicians, bought and paid for by special interests. he has been surging in the polls lately and it was clear early on the other candidates were ready to go after him. >> i had enough already tonight of a guy who sounds like chat gpt stand up here. claiming donald trump is motivated by vengeance and grievance, would be more credible if your campaign were vengeance and grievance. >> you have no foreign policy experience at it shows. >> our debate is next. it is on september 27th, seamy valley, california at the reagan library, mark your.

stuart: it has been marked for some time. thanks very much. then, you watched it obviously, who did you think was the star? >> i think a lot of interesting things happened last night. i think the person who really came out is the star, surprisingly was nikki haley. she really over performed and she benefits more from the fact that tim scott surprisingly faded into the background, seemed he was giving a campaign stump speech as opposed to engaging on the things. this to me gives nikki haley a boost. i also thought it was interesting how the long knives came out for vivek ramaswami. there seem to be a level of irritation that his presence on the stage, obviously vivek ramaswami is using the same playbook donald trump did last time saying i come from outside politics.

everyone else here is bought and paid for, that's why you can trust me but basically a lot of these candidates weren't going to let him get away with that without calling him out for differences and shifts of his opinion in recent years, between his first book and what he's saying today about a lot of subjects, they were not going to let him get away with demagogue going on a lot of issues where he hasn't gotten serious when it comes to foreign policy, border security, the way he talks about taiwan and israel and other issues. i think the big loser was scott. if you look at the situation and say how are you going to come out with some momentum and make a real impact with people, he is someone a lot of people expected to do a lot more. as for governor desantis he did everything he needed to, somewhat surprisingly, it was basically unscathed, no one went after him the way a lot of people expected the rest of the campaign to do so. that is something that helped him right the ship and give him

a little bit more solid standing after a couple rough weeks and months of the campaign. stuart: do you think it was a better debate without trump? >> yes and no. obviously the elephant who wasn't in the room as bret baer said, something people should engage with but we got a much more policy focused debate. if donald trump had been on the stage almost the entire debate would have revolved around him, his own gripes about the 2020 election, his legal challenges and the like, sucks all the oxygen out of the room but without him there you actually had the opportunity to see some distinctions particularly on the issue of abortion, whether you have a national policy, federal policy on that question or not and how you possibly get there. a number of other debates where we got substantive back and forth fighting between these candidates, in a positive way that showed us the differences. stuart: clearly you watched it all, thanks for being with us.

>> i'm not going to lie, i am a political junkie, never miss a debate. stuart: thanks for being here, see you again soon. let's get to the money. when i say money i mean the really big money. nvidia, blowout earnings, stocks $506 a share. take me through. that was a modest report. >> reporter: not only did nvidia report $13 billion in sales in the quarter but doubled from a year ago and its data center revenue that includes the a100, h one hundred chip, it rose one hundred 70 one% from a year ago. and they forecast revenue for this quarter $3 billion more than wall street expect that 16 billion so it just keeps on going. this is not crazy, they can justify this valuation, then we've got the $25 billion share buyback, the stock is undervalued at 507.

stuart: what is nvidia doing? >> they are all up. take a look. amd, they are up sharply today and i will go further, the nasdaq which was on track for its worst month of the year so far until now. what happens to the nasdaq now? they continue to gain. stuart: we shall see. adam johnson with us, last time we talked about it, your price target was $600 a share. stuart: you going to raise the target? >> i'm going to raise the target. i can easily justify an $800 target and there are some $1,100 target out there. when we started talking about nvidia, go back 6 months, that's when i recommended it to subscribers, it was one hundred 75. my base case was 475. and now for exactly the reasons lauren is describing.

if you can accept that in 2000 there was a dot.com phenomenon that changed wall street and change the way we do business, that became an e-commerce phenomenon which became a cloud phenomena. now it is artificial intelligence phenomenon. the reason nvidia is the ultimate artificial intelligence proxy is because it's semiconductor chips and able 30 trillion calculations per second. 10 times faster than any other semiconductor out there. it is that kind of brainpower in a computer that enables our artificial intelligence. stuart: it is nvidia leading a total revolution in computing. >> a total revolution stuart: as big as the iphone or bigger? >> synonymous with the iphone. the same way all of this. there's my iphone, there's yours, we all use it and that is the same story with artificial intelligence.

>> we can walk and chew gum at the same time. 's those emphasize why we need to win because democrats right now are punishing people for being a republican across the country and it is not just donald trump. it is people going to pta meetings like tim scott talked about last night, calling parents domestic terrorists, pro-life activists. it is a shame we see republicans being targeted for their conservative beliefs. we need to talk about the debate to do a lecture republicans in 2024. replied the democrats national equity will not commit to president biden taking part in any of the debate in the general election. what your response to that? >> i'm not surprised.

hiding biden, he hid his whole presidency, he hid through the election of 2020 come he doesn't face the american people, the media gives him an offramp on that and i know our candidate whoever nominee is is going to want to face biden, they will demand a race and the american people deserve that. >> one of the rules for the second debate, are you cutting down the number of qualifiers? >> we are raising the threshold. for this debate, one%, 3 national goals for the second debate, they will need to get to 3% and need to raise their donor threshold by $10,000 so we are going to raise it incrementally. i think that's right, they had their chance last night, they are not gaining momentum, we will see the field shrink if they don't make that criteria. stuart: what about the candidates who do not appear on the debate stage, couldn't meet the qualifications, should they drop out? >> they can make it for california. some got in late, some guardian in july. it's hard to get one% in national polls when you are getting in late. when i spoke to each of them

and told them they didn't meet the criteria that doesn't mean they are precluded from making criteria for the next debate in california if they get that 3% threshold. stuart: one thing i liked last night was the audience. that crowd of 5000 people really made a difference. are you going to try to get large audiences in the future? >> i love having the audience last night and i thought the audience was fair to everyone. everyone got cheers but when they thought you were stepping out of line they would boo you. i love the audience, the largest audience we ever had for a primary debate. i don't think the reagan library will accommodate 5,000 people but i do want to have that type of grassroots engagement. it's good for the grassroots to come in and see these candidates on the stage and in person it is different like a rock concert, different in person than it is on tv. stuart: thanks for joining us this morning. you must be busy but we appreciate you making time for us. fox business will host the

second republican debate september 27th at the ronald reagan presidential library in seamy valley. what do you think of the debate last night? >> i thought it was spicy and substantive, really enjoyed it. stuart: to the republicans look good? >> yes they did look good and i will tell you why. this was a debate, it was a discussion that went into the nitty-gritty of the stuff we are all talking about. there were someone liners that were cute and funny and we played some of them earlier and that made it adorable but what made it worthwhile for all of us as listeners as we got to know each person on the issues. that is what matters. stuart: seems to me like a generational change. a lot of youngsters on that stage, they looked young, they had dynamism and aggressive with her points of view. the republican party needs it and it was a contrast with president biden. >> it was a contrast. there were some forceful moments but no angry moments.

it wasn't the anger you see in some of the democratic conversations. i like the fact that the gop keeps a higher bar, that's important. stuart: the biden campaign cochair declared president biden is a democratic nominee. haven't had a single primary. lauren: even as president biden is challenged by two candidates, biden campaign co-chair cedric richmond says there's no need for any of this because he has a 40% approval rating and republican candidates go out as they criticize president biden. cedric richmond is declaring biden the democratic nominee and did you hear what former chief of staff ron klain said? you know the won the republican debate last night? joe biden. stuart: i don't think president biden is physically and mentally capable of standing up to a rough and tumble debate

for two hours. >> i don't think the dnc will let him do it. imagine president biden going up against any of those candidates, most likely it will be either trump or desantis. i would like to keep nikki haley and but she doesn't have the numbers, it is trump or desantis. they won't let him do it. stuart: check futures please especially the nasdaq composite which is at one hundred 47 points. stuart: the ai dolly from nvidia smashed wall street expectations as it continues to surge, now over $500 a share, up $30 as of right now. angelo, you had previously a $500 target price on nvidia. it is at 502. do you have a new target price? >> we have a new target price,

we increase the target price to $600 from $500 today, we realize the multiple of 33 times our 25 estimate but looking at how stock has reacted the last couple quarters, they are starting to go to that multiple where just a couple quarters we were talking about multiples 50 times. the bulls had it right in the sense growth expectations would be met and significantly extended when you look at the last two earnings announcements. that being said we continue to have high convention on the ai theme where nvidia stands. stuart: is nvidia a must have stock for investors who want to establish a long-term portfolio, to buy and hold for a long time? >> i think so. you get that long-term approach to this thing or you will get

bitten by the ups and downs of the cycles in the semiconductor industry. matt taibbi is not immune to the risks out there whether it is cyclical pressures going on in the semiconductor industry or the high exposure on the china side, 20% to 25% revenue. we know there will be increased regulatory pressures on that side of the thing. there are definitely still risks but longer-term in the next 3 to 5 years revenue will be significantly higher. stuart: thanks for being with us, $502 a share now. $600 per share. 10 seconds before the market opens. expecting a small loss for the dow industrials. it is down this morning, expecting to see the nasdaq go straight up.

press the button, start the trading, we are in trading mode, the dow hasn't been open with a small loss, 18 points down, virtually flat. there's the big board, dow 30 stocks, a majority of them are losers at this point but the dow itself, the index is virtually flat, up a mere 5 points. the s&p, don't expect it to move very much, not bad. 0. 4%, the nasdaq is where the action is. it is up 0. 75%, one hundred points higher, 13,822. show me big tech. all of them are up this morning. apple slipped $0.50. microsoft up $4. it was strong yesterday. up about 104, meta 297, amazon 136. now let's talk earnings. snowflake reported after the bell yesterday. must have been a good report because they are up 2%.

warned about and mentioned again. stock is down 8. 5%, the issue with dollar tree is americans are cash-strapped so they are going to the dollar store for basics like food. those are low-margin items. when you look at their report card they are lowering their profit forecast for the year because they are selling more of the basics and the other issue like theft, elevated loss in inventory from workers stealing stuff and shoplifting. stuart: that is the fourth or fifth retailer who said i've got problems with shoplifting. >> the phone the police is the craziest, most misguided policy we have ever found ourselves pursuing and this is the legacy of that. stuart: take a look at boeing please. they have a problem with their new 737 max jets, the stock is down 2.7%. lauren: it's not a safety problem.

it is a quality issue linked to spirit aerosystems. spirit aerosystems stock is down 70%. the buzzword is the 737 max, this is what this quality issue affects, the best-selling jet, you think 737, the two fatal crashes in 2019, this is a minor issue but boeing has to fix it and it hinders their delivery time. don't want to hinder new orders and deliveries at a time of looming travel demand. that's the issue there. boeing down 3. 5%. %. stuart: cvs announced a new push to make a cheaper version of the arthritis drug humira. what is a convenience store doing with the new drug? lauren: they are healthcare company, pharmacy benefit manager as well as they have a new company producing and marketing drugs so there you have it. it is called bio similar.

>> they want to be your emergency room on main street. they want to be the place you go if you have an issue whatever the issue is. lauren: we talked about generic drugs. this is a type of medicine called bio similar. in humira's case will be 80% cheaper. so that is a $100 billion industry in the next 6 years so cvs pharmacy which is healthcare company is trying to get into that another way. we won why didn't you tell me that one at a time? they will produce q mayor 8% cheaper, that's the lead. lauren: you asked me a different question. i'm wrong, you are right. stuart: adam johnson has his picks for the morning, starting with an old favorite, palo alto networks. >> number one in cybersecurity, there is your lead. it is an amazing company and i will tell you what is so fascinating about this one. about three weeks ago a

competitor had to guide down and literally it was like somebody just took palo alto out in the back and shot it. the stock dropped 20%. simply because the competitor was down and i told those guys this is when we buy it and they came out with earnings a couple weeks later and it skyrockets right back up. wonderful company. number one in cybersecurity. stuart: symbiotic is an ai play. >> it is and we were showing it to viewers earlier when we showed a number of ai stocks. it is up. this is the company that is converting walmart's distribution facilities into fully automated robotic facilities. they've also just done a huge deal with the bank of japan, the background is $18 billion, the revenues it is like they've got 18 years worth of sales on the books. blue when you like them. >> i love it. stuart: palantir. >> i love and i wish i had bought it. it was $7 or $8 forever and

then it took off with the whole ai thing. i don't own it. i wish i did. is a tough stock to own, because they have a weird business model. they've got a lot of money up front but they don't get the subscription revenue on the back end. that's why i didn't buy it. that's in the weeds but it is a darling at the moment. stuart: checked the big board please, we are in business for 6.5 minutes. fractional move. i will call that absolutely dead flat but we have some winners among the dow 30 and we are going to show them to you. topping the list is jpmorgan chase, up one dollar, microsoft now up to dollars about $3.29. amgen, j and j, american express on the list, the s&p 500, top, we've got nvidia up $21 now at $4.93. early this morning we had some gyrations, still sharply higher.

stuart: the economy was a big focus of the debate last night. the president took some incoming on the economy last night. >> reporter: he did. the candidates as much as they attacked one another also went

after bidenomics. governor ron desantis joined the two issues. >> we must traverse bidenomics so middle-class families have a chance to succeed again. we cannot succeed as a country if you are working hard and can't afford groceries, a car or new home while hunter biden can make hundreds of thousands of dollars on lousy paintings. that is wrong. >> not take long for bidenomics to take center stage, the word came up five minutes into the debate tapping into the pain that americans feel when they purchase food or gas or anything, was a theme throughout the night. >> i'm genuinely worried that american dream will not exist for our two sons and their generation unless we do something about it. now is our moment to start running to something, to our vision of what it means to be an american today. if you have a broken car you don't turn the keys over to the people who broke it again, you hand it to a new generation to fix the problem.

>> candidates like tim scott offered some solutions to this. he said extending the 2017 tax cuts, he wrote part of that bill, also all the candidates on stage said they would open up american energy as a way to lower the inflation and take back us economy. one more point on this, it would be interesting to have a debate whether president biden could stand up in a format like that and articulate a response to bidenomics and defend his policies. stuart: thank you very much. speaking of senator tim scott, he was pressed on trump's spending record during the debate. >> no doubt during the trump administration we were dealing with of the covid virus and spent more money but that happened at the end of our time in the majority. we had low in employment, record low unemployment and inflation was at 2% under president biden we've seen the opposite.

we have seen inflation explode which led to 12 federal reserve increases, devastating homebuyers today. stuart: monica crowley with us in new york city. you worked in the trump organization, you worked in the trump white house i believe, treasury department. what do you make, you would agree with tim scott, everything he said. >> absolutely. tim scott got the question about out-of-control government spending. the truth is republicans and democrats over many decades have spent beyond what they should be spending and now we are hitting a tipping point where the next administration is going to have to rein in spending and speak on lauren: the american people about it. senator scott was right about the trump -- trump record, donald trump delivered an economy through tax cuts, regulatory relief, unleashing the energy sector and fair trade deals.

that was paris covid and we had to up emergency levels of spending. the problem is biden and the democrats kept up the emergency levels of spending absent the actual emergency and we are $1 trillion plus in additional debt that the democrats have created. stuart: donald trump is expected to surrender at fulton county jail later today. is this what the democrats want? a distraction from a good debate last night? >> donald trump is the concept and showman. he did not plan this in this way for this fourth indictment. but donald trump has an uncanny knack of stepping on all of his opponents and adversaries when they have a good day are try to accomplish something, trump swoops in and steals the headlines. stuart: is his support going up with these indictments? >> yes and the polls bear that up. stuart: will go up after he appears, the mug shot? >> if there is a mug shot today

that not only clinches the republican nomination but probably clinches the presidency because we have never seen this before where a former president has been railroaded by the weaponization of government and this kind of l'affaire and the effect it is having, turning donald trump into a -- a tough cookie. the left cannot stop themselves from piling on donald trump. they hate him so much. there's reverse psychology which is they are trying to do this to create the rallying affect so he's the nominee because they think he's more easily beatable. i do not think that is the case. it is the exact opposite and for the democrats be careful what you wish for. stuart: welcome back, good to see you again. the candidates were asked if her they would support trump if he were convicted, the response.
