"kudlow," i'm larry kudlow. the die is cast. house speaker kevin mccarthy mccarthy unequivocally declared a impeachment inquiry to deal with president joe biden and his family's culture of corruption. the effort will be led by chairman james comer at the committee on oversight an in cord coordination with jim jordan of the judiciary and chairman jason smith on ways and means. mr. mccarthy called impeachment inquiry the apex of power for the house. here is what the speaker had to say today. >> taken together, these allegations paint a picture of a culture of corruption. eyewitnesses have testified that the president joined on multiple phone calls and had multiple interactions, dinners, resulted in cars and millions of dollars, into his son's and his son's business partners. we know that bank records show

that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to the biden family members and associates through various shell companies. the treasury department alone has more than 150 transactions involving the biden family. that's why today i am directing our house committee to open a formal impeachment inquiry into president joe biden. larry: all right this impeachment inquiry has become necessary because of the politicized justice department and the fbi. they have blocked and stonewalled house investigators all year. indeal they have blocked and stonewalled investigators for many years. appointment of special counsel david weiss is an insult to any definition of a fair justice system. he is an integral part of main justice and the biden administration but any special

prosecutor, including the notorious jack smith should be completely outside of government, not a willing instrument of the white house. basically joe biden wants to throw donald trump in jail for 700 years to prevent the former president from becoming president again. by the way that idea of president again is looking increasingly probable according to numerous polls. the tragic irony here is that mr. trump is being indicted for exercising his first amendment free speech rights whereas joe biden is the one who who has broken the law through bribery, influence peddling, bank and money fraud, and other potential charges. i know these are all allegations but as speaker mccarthy said today, the evidence of biden wrongdoing is growing larger and larger. a couple more points on biden's troubles. the world price of oil has jumped back to $90 a barrel and

the average national gasoline price has increased to $3.84. meanwhile a militant united auto workers union may well go on strike against the big three u.s. automakers this thursday, september 14th. it is a strike for higher wages and benefits but it would also be a strike against joe biden's far left climate change, electric vehicle mandate which could knock out 500,000 auto workers jobs and cripple the u.s. economy. biden has caved into the opec plus crowd of saudi arabia, russia, venezuela and iran by freezing alaskan and gulf of mexico oil. it is an act of sheer insanity. also breaks the law by sidestepping congressional legislative mandates. meanwhile, while biden's budget deficit has spiraled back to two trillion dollars, his open borders policy is pushing down

wages by flooding the country with illegal immigrants. had tip on that one to "breitbart"'s john carney. and a recent tip poll shows that 46% of american voters rate the economy as the number one issue while investigations of the trump administration ranked 15th at only 8%. got biden and all of his legal henchmen trying to bust donald trump, throw him in jail for literally 700 years plus, i don't know, that is the latest count, stop him from becoming president. trump is exercising his free speech about the election and many other things and his presidential perogatives whereas it's joe biden who seems to have committed actual crimes, not just free speech, actual crimes if any of these allegations are proven true and evidence seems to be moving in that direction? >> that is absolutely correct, larry. look at what they have done to president trump, his family, his supporters, his administration, even people that work at mar-a-lago. this is absurd. they have used and abused the political power that they have in washington, not only to twice politically impeach him which are both wrong and need to be expunged which i am demanding in the house of representatives but also they continue to use the

power of the department of justice to politically pursue and persecute president trump for simply using his free speech. this is wrong and we cannot stand for it but at the same time it is our duty in the house of representatives to go after corruption and take it out of the government. that is what the american people deserve and that's what we're going to do. larry: march -- marjorie i take it the speaker will not pursuit a vote in the house on a resolution to gain an impeachment inquiry. i think that raised a few eyebrows. i don't know how important that was. what's your take on that? were you surprised? >> no, i'm not surprised. i'm going to tell you, i absolutely love it and here's why. we're just following precedent. and nancy pelosi is the one that set that precedent. i think this should be a warning to all democrats and democrat leaders, you better be careful

chair jordan and chair comer have done an incredible job. look what we've learned. as a result of their efforts. we know that mr. hunter biden was either selling influence or selling the appearance of influence. we know mr. hunter biden as a result of that he is at best he's a sleeze bag. at worst he is a thief. number two, we know that president biden was well aware of what his son was doing when president biden said i never discussed business with my son and i have no idea what he is doing. the president was lying. number three, as a result of the house republicans efforts, we know that president biden not only was aware of what his son was doing but he aggressively

enabled it. now those are the facts. is it enough for an impeachment proceeding or do they need to gather more facts? that's up to the house but if you're asking me where i think this leads, i think it leads to an impeachment. i realize that president biden has his side of the story and as best i can tell, what the white house is arguing is president biden is just a good family man who talks to six of his seven grandchildren every day and he is such a swell father that he calls in regularly to his son's business meetings to talk about the weather but nobody believes that. larry: and gives them all their own small business llc, senator kennedy. >> right. larry: and puts money into those llcs, which somehow seem to, i'm going to say dribble up to then vice president biden and who knows what nowadays. you're right, he is a wonderful

grandfather except for the kid down in the ozarks he won't acknowledge. >> this whole thing with mr. hunter biden, secretly president biden has got to be embarrassed. i mean this whole thing is, it reeks of privilege. it reeks of influence peddling. it reeks of sleeze. and i just, i'm grateful that the house got the facts and they are going to keep going. larry: yes, sir, let me move on. you know, 9/11, so joe biden doesn't go to any of the memorials. he is in alaska. by the way spitting in the face of alaskan oil, no oil and gas drilling. we'll get to that in a minute but, but, but, we learn that the state department puts together this deal, some kind of a hostage swap and winds up unfreezing six billion dollars to iran. six billion dollars is a lot of money. iran is broke and needs every

nickel it can find. we already allowed them higher oil prices. now we're giving them six billion. what do you think about this? >> well, first, i know president biden didn't make the 9/11 ceremony but to be fair he's busy, he did send the vice president. but to answer your question, everyone has the right to, to be stupid now and then. for the last two years president biden has abused the privilege and this latest deal that he made with iran is sort of the cherry on top. how can i put this? more sheep is not going to solve the wolf problem. the only thing that has ever gotten iran's attention were the sanctions and they're not strong enough. and if president biden wants to, he can ratchet sanctions down.

whether our so-called allies in europe support us or not. he doesn't want to do that because he thinks that if he gives the ayatollah in iran a hug and a good hot cup of cocoa, that, president biden can win him over. and, that nonsense. that, weakness invites the wolves and the ayatollah is a wolf. and the, i mean, peace through weakness has never worked. larry: so related to this iran thing, iran, as you know, sir, iran is part of opec plus. now, here's my point. oil prices are going back towards $100 a barrel in the world market. gasoline prices are going back up to, they're going back up to $4 nationwide, higher in a lot of places as you know.

opec cuts production or extends its production. that is iran, venezuela, along with the saudis and the russians and joe biden's response, sir, is to freeze drilling in alaska and to freeze drilling in the gulf of mexico. i might add, in both cases, violating the law because there are congressional mandates, legislative mandates for a lot of these lease sales. so, biden is, i don't know which side he is on. he gives six billion dollars to iran and giving opec plus higher oil prices and american consumers, drivers, middle class, blue-collar folks getting damaged as their wages sink lower and lower after inflation. what is going on here? the oil story is almost neglected but i don't want to neglect it. >> president biden is on the side of the teleprompter. his policy is whatever that teleprompter says it is. i'm sorry to have to say that

but it's true. as best i can tell, by his deeds, if not his words, the president's new energy policy in terms of fossil fuels is look, let's give up america's energy independence. larry: right. >> and instead of producing our own oil, let's buy oil at higher prices from nations that hate us, so those nations will have more money to buy weapons to try to kill us. and they, it makes absolutely no sense. point two, president biden is violating the law. congress passed a law, i was there and voted on it to open up drilling in anwr. it will not hurt the environment. the area we're drilling on in anwr in alaska, imagine this, imagine a football field. put a stamp in the middle of the field on the 50-yard line. that is the area on which the oil and gas industry will drill. the entire football field is

anwr. the polar bears are safe. president biden is violating the law by not following congress's direct tougher. larry: and natives want the jobs. >> of course. larry: the natives want the job. the other one is in the gulf of mexico down your way. there were lease sales legislated by congress biden has everyturned. this guy is breaking the law once again just like he is breaking the law regarding student loan cancellations. he is breaking a supreme court decision. this guy, there is a pattern of corruption here to use speaker mccarthy's phrase this morning. >> well, president biden, i mean, i think it is just a fact. you see it. i see it. the american people see it. there are two wings much the democratic party and one of them is called the loon wing. some might say the woke wing. that is the wing that president biden has embraced.

and, part of, part of the loon wing's agenda is to get rid of all fossil fuels, all petrochemicals. we're going to live solely own wind and solar power and as i have said before, i will say it again, my car does not run on unicorn urine or fairy dust. it is totally unrealistic view of the world and president xi and the ayatollah and vladmir putin and the folks in cuba and venezuela, they are laughing at him. they're laughing at america. they're saying we don't have to fire a shot at you guys. you are all destroying yourselves and we need a change. i've said this before too, larry, and i mean it. the water is not going to clear up until you get the pigs out of the creek and that's true in washington. larry: well i agree with that. i'm interested in your wolf and sheep. you know, i think it was in the

1952 or 53 election, winston churchill, churchhill told clement atlee you're a sheep in sheep's clothing. >> sheep's clothing i remember that. larry: you're a socialist, and everybody knows you're a socialist and doesn't want socialist. a lot of economists are saying because of biden's open borders, sir, letting in illegal migrants, then giving them some kind of a work permit, one of the consequences for that is to lower the wages of american workforce and that is becoming a more and more serious problem. what do you think about that one? >> well it is a valid point. and you can find a number of economists who agree with that. you can find others who disagree and, it has been my experience for every economist there is an

equal and opposite economist but the truth is the labor market, labor markets are relaxing a little bit. they're not as tight as they were and if that is the case then handing out those work permits could depress wages for everybody else but the fact of the matter is that the biden administration, whether you agree or disagree with the policy they're breaking the law. i mean it is illegal to sneak in our country and if you get caught you're supposed to be deported and president biden just says no, come on in. larry: well, your inference before, i said it in my opening riff, i believe it is time to retire mr. biden. i say that with the greatest respect. retirement is not such a bad thing. not for you, senator kennedy. i'm talking about president biden. i want to be clear on that. senator john kennedy, thank you for your time, sir. >> appreciate it, larry, thank you. larry: coming up, vivek ramaswamy is going to tell us

not wrong and you're outlining how to destroy the swamp and i thought you would share some of that vision with us because it is a noble cause if there ever was one. >> thank you, larry. i'm giving a sneak preview of the speech i deliver tomorrow morning. larry: oh, tomorrow, i'm sorry. >> yes, it's tomorrow morning but we know it is a topic of passion for you so i was looking forward to this conversation as well. the thing the advisor class, managerial class told presidents from reagan to trump is you can't shut doesn't agencies as the u.s. president. you cannot fire large numbers of federal ememployees, that you can't rescind federal regulations without asking congress for permission. it turns out, larry, if you read the law carefully, the u.s. president absolutely can and that's what i'm going to lay out tomorrow, laying out a plan for reducing the size of the federal employee head count by over 75%. 50% by the end of my first year

in office. also shutting down five government agencies. those are the first five of many more to come which will lay out in great painstaking detail and also rescinding a majority of federal regulations, which i view as unconstitutional pursuant to the standard laid out by the u.s. people court in west virginia versus epa last year. this will be a seismic shock to the system, larry. once again restoring three branches of government as our founding fathers envisioned, shutting down the fourth branch of government, this unconstitutional shadow government in the administrative state. i think i am the presidential candidate who will have offered, probably the greatest level of detail own how to actually get that job done. then we'll get in there after the 2024 legislation and actually do it. larry: you know, vivek, again all noble causes. my pal russ vought, omb director and steve miller, senior advisor, you know, they worked

on schedule f right at the end of the trump administration. >> yes. larry: ran out of time. so i'm assuming you're going to go back there because the idea, you can take out large numbers of civil servants, et cetera. you just can't take one out, i think that was, we were going to try to take out large, like the department of education or at least carve it up, get rid of a large chunk of it. >> that's right. larry: i know sneak preview, i happen to be vice-chair of fpi, sneak preview, put a little meat on the bones for me. >> that's good. i like to go into detail on these issues because it matters. the schedule f exemptions were a great step that that direction. what it means there were certain categories you were working on, certain federal employees policy making roles the u.s. president can fire. expand that to more employees fit that function, you can fire more employees.

that is a step in the right direction. what i'm laying out tomorrow is a fundamentally different approach. not going through the backdoor of schedule f, but through the front door of reading the statutes which say you can't fire individual civil servants, what they call large reductions in force, mass layoffs. those aren't including in the civil service protections and mass layoffs are absolutely what i'm bringing to washington, d.c. the other thing is, there are unexpired provisions of the 1977 presidential reorganization act that say under limited circumstances if it is to stimulated the economy, efficiency in operations, if it is to reduce redundant agencies the u.s. president already has statutory authority to shut down and reorganize agencies. that is what i will use for the fbi, for the atf, for the u.s. department of education, for the nuclear regulatory commission and other agencies. and what we're going to do tomorrow, larry, go into detail,

say 35,000 employees at the fbi, 20,000 of them are back office bureaucrats, they can go home to honest work in the private sector. the 15,000 agents in the front line, we'll reorganize them and move them to the u.s. marshals or financial crimes enforcement network at u.s. treasury or for that matter of dea on the front lines of the fentanyl epidemic across this country. that is how we increase effectiveness while also restoring the integrity of our constitutional republic by the way stimulating our economy. keep in mind the administrative state is "the fountainhead" of wet blank kit of regulations that suppress the u.s. economy. this is top domestic priority of my agenda. as larry, you know these are not talking points. these are not get in and do and not tinker along the edges. we'll get in there and shut it down. that is why i'm running for president, i think we'll succeed. larry: a noble cause, all noble

have been talking about at this table for the better part of two years, republicans must force joe biden and every democrat to eat all the "bidenomics" failures. this report was almost undercovered given impact on young people. i'm not a young person. i was a very long time ago and the way you can buy a home, 2019 as you know you were at the white house helping to make this so, we had a boom year. that year income rose and poverty fell for the first time in 50 years. those are just facts and now a child poverty last year, last year to this year has doubled and part of that is because of bad policy. part of that obviously they didn't extend the child care tax credit, et cetera, but when you have lower poverty, higher wages you can do things like buy a home. so in 2019 the average price of a home was 236, less than 250,000. they are saying you could make $60,000 a year, one of you, not even your spouse,

afford700-dollars a month in mortgage payment. the same house in a news report is $436,000. you both need to make 100,000. before you turn irit, put gas in your car, food on the table. people are feeling the pinch everywhere. republicans in the debate need to lead with the economy everything they're saying. they are talking about trump and trump is talking about the economy. larry: key word, you raised this earlier affordability. >> yes. larry: affordability has gone way down under biden. just on the housing thing, 7 1/2% some odd mortgage rate. that is a big number. three years ago it was 2 1/2%. >> i know. larry: right there affordability. so wages going up, inflation going up faster, gasoline, groceries, et cetera, taxes, all going up, that is an affordability issue which is then linked to "bidenomics." this guy should do that in a debate. i don't know i guess there is reason for the debate.
