[laughter] liz, you know, you look at this historic uaw strike, it comes right as president biden is ramping up his bidenomics sales pitch about improving wages and conditions, but the awe autoworkers saying biden is undercutting their wages and work conditions with high inflation and mandating all electric cars. they're telling "politico" they, quote, feel abandon by the white house. abandoned by the white house. >> well -- [audio difficulty] elizabeth: having a little trouble with liz's audio. >> no, i can hear you, liz. sorry. i thought you were showing a

clip, sorry. look, this is a complete mess, and it's entirely on joe biden's doorstep. the reality is that joe biden's push for evs has alarmed the union. the union is looking at tremendous loss of membership because it only takes about 40% as much labor to make an electric vehicle is as it does to make an internal combustion engine. so they're looking down the barrel of a shotgun and realizing ten years from now, twenty years from now their ranks are going to be seriously depleted. there will be jobs created in manufacturing batteries, liz, but those factories are generally going to right-to-work states, and they're not going to be unionized. so the union is not just talking about wages and they're not just talking about profits of the auto e industry, they're talking about this big green push, this climate change push from president biden which is requiring 67% of all cars sold in the u.s. by 2032 be electric vehicles. the other problem is if you pump

up the cost structure of detroit, they're going to be not at all prepared for a big push from china. china is invading e.u. countries now with cheap evs. ours cost on average about $55,000, theirs cost about 20 the. the e.u. is actually undertaking an investigation into illegal subsidies of evs just like solar panels ten years ago. this is what's coming to the united states, and the uaw knows it. they know this is threatening them and also detroit. elizabeth: you know, the uaw has yet to endorse president biden for his re-election. >> yeah. elizabeth: but the other thing to too is, and if they do, you see a paradigm shift. more exit polls showing blue collar workers are moving toward the republican party. that's an issue for them because the unions have done get out the vote campaigns for democrats. and also look at what happened in new york city. in new york city jerry nadler, alexandria ocasio-cortez, they were shouted down.

they were trying to speak about the illegal migrant crisis in the manhattan, but the protesters were chanting, you know, send them back, close the border. i mean, new york city mayor eric adams said, quote, this will destroy new york city. so you see voters here are fed up too. if. >> yeah. and, by the way, that's also a labor issue, liz, because all these migrants are looking for work permits, they're dying to get into the work force, of course, because they have to provide for the their families. but they're going to be really clobbering the lower end of the income spectrum for americans. workers are going to be badly hurt by this influx of low income wage people. yes, are people fed up in myself9? absolutely. are they fed up in chicago and philadelphia, san francisco? if all these cities are being very badly hurt by this migrant influx, but so is all of working class american workers. this is a real problem. and, again, it's entirely of joe biden's making.

elizabeth: you know, the white house -- >> he changed the border. elizabeth: yeah. the white house, you know, this crazy all or nothing electric car mandate, it's destroying the car industry, as you point out. larry summers said what you said, that electric cars take about 40% fewer workers per car. but, you know, the uaw, they want the cost of living adjustments that were wiped out in the 2008 obama bailout to the car industry. but biden's inflation has soared nearly 17% compounded. autoworkers, this is new data coming in, they've seen their average wages fall more than 19% since 2008. liz, sit tight. we want to listen to a top democrat admit that high inflation under biden is a problem in what's going on with the uaw. watch this. >> you have our big three who are making in some cases record profits, and you have people who are working at those facilities who are struggling and have less money in their pockets because of inflation. elizabeth: so you heard that, right? that's -- >> yeah.

that's bidenomics, liz are. elizabeth: i mean, you know what's really interesting? trump is saying the uaw should step up and say this is nonnegotiable. get rid of electric car mandates. we had six house democrats joining house republicans, liz, saying, yeah. we want to top biden's electric car mandates, and we want to stop california from mandating vehicles that americans can drive. >> well, look, this is incred by important to the biden white house. they're trying to appease the climate lobby, and they're also trying to appease the uaw friends and big labor in general. i don't think they can have it both ways. liz, why not let consumers determine the course of the transition to evs? right now the inventories on the lot of evs are 300% where they were a year ago. they aren't selling, and yet we're pushing detroit to make more and more of these cars that, at this point, are very unpopular. they're overpriced, and we don't have enough charging stations. so, yes, let the free market

decide when and if we're going to really transition to evs, because right now this is a disaster for our car companies. and, yes, you're right, the workers are behind. they are losing ground. we know all americans have lost ground since biden took office. that is bidenomics. it's high inflation, big government spending to promote more inflation and basically people are falling behind. they're not stupid. that's why his ratings on the economy are abysmal. elizabeth: got it. liz peek, thanks for joining us. have a good weekend. >> thanks, liz. elizabeth: now look who's here from house oversight, congressman pat fallon, and former congressional investigator sam dewey. congressman, first to you. we've got a new reuters-ipsos poll. a majority do support the impeachment inquiry. and we've got reports coming out of cnn, the white house is enraged, the president is really furious over the gun indictment for hunter biden saying, the white house is saying if he had a different last name, he would

not have been indicted, that this is completely political. what do you say, congressman? >> wow, that's the exact opposite of reality, liz. if his last name wasn't biden, he wasn't related to the president, he'd be in jail right now most likely. he didn't pay income on $8.5 million of income. liz, if you or i or any other american did that, wesley snipes went to jail for that. the charges, the gun charges, are are the lesser of the crimes, so that's exactly the opposite of reality. wow. elizabeth: what do you think, sam? >> i think that's -- i 100% agree with the congressman. and the big question that i have is, is u.s. attorney weiss now actually going to investigate the money, because the money trail from the tax case goes a lot further. it goes into potential fara violations. doj said that's ongoing. and is you know what in that's the same money trail that the congressman and his colleagues on the oversight committee are

following because it leads to to the biden family, not just hunter. elizabeth: yeah. and, you know, the other issue too is, you know, congressman, the white house talking points memo to the media telling media how to report on this story, congressman fallon on, left out what house republicans uncovered in the investigation into biden family corruption allegations. you know, the white house narrative is joe biden was helping his son struggling with addiction, but the story's much bigger. let's show the viewer what they left out. what do you think of that, congressman? >> well, liz, they left out lots of different things. i mean -- [laughter] hunter biden was engaged in influence peddling and selling access in politics for years. and the white house doesn't want to acknowledge if it, unfortunately, and neither does the doj. they left out the fact that that he was making, hunter biden was making a million dollars a year working on the board of burisma when his father withheld a billion dollars worth of aid

from the ukrainians until they fired the prosecutor who was looking into corruption that the ceo of burisma was engaged in. they left out a myriad of things that we don't is have time in your hour program to share9 with the viewers. elizabeth: well, we're trying to share it now, congressman. [laughter] what the congressman just said. what do you think, sam? because former speaker nancy pelosi, she open up the impeachment inquiry into run the with no floor votes, no floor votes. it was base on just one whistleblower. house republicans have multiple whistleblowers, irs whistleblowers, fbi whistleblowers. they've got bank records, text messages, e-mails, 170 suspicious activity reports, irs whistleblower testimonies, but the republicans are getting heavily criticized for opening this inquiry. what do you think, sam? >> i think setting a aside the procedural questions about what does an inquiry mean, what do you need to get extralegal powers, there's absolutely no issue with saying we are looking

at the evidence and considering impeachment. there's a lot of evidence, it comes from a lot of different sources and a lot of which are just cold, hard documents that a raise questions that rise to to the level where, okay, we have to start thinking about about impeachment. this isn't, isn't just something that is within our legislative purview. the notion that there's no evidence is just cherry picking or outright ostrich in the sand type behavior. elizabeth: yeah. so what sam just said. you know, congressman, the white house spokesperson admitted that joe biden did attend hunter's business meeting, quote, because he loves hunter. when did the story change? up until now joe biden insists he knows nothing about hunter's business deals. >> liz, in 2019 candidate joe biden built a firewall that said i have no knowledge of what my son does for a living, i don't have any knowledge of his business dealing, and i never met any of his business associates. that was an outright lie. he gave his associates tours of

the white house and had dinner with plenty of them. elena battarina was the first lady of moscow, married to the mayor of moscow, she's a billionaireess and oligarch. her husband was accused of corruption, she gave $3.5 million to hunter biden's shell companies, and a few months later she had dinner with biden at café milano. this is why we are come compelled to investigate more and find out the truth. elizabeth: final word, sam. does this get worse for the white house? >> i would hope it does. i mean, we'll see what happens. we are see where the trail goes. i hope that the committees follow it. i would really like to see the next logical step is subpoenas for bank records of the family, phone records of the family, and i suspect that that will reveal a very questionable activity. so i think it will. today tuned. elizabeth: so your gut is saying there's corruption here. >> everything i've seen indicates that something corrupt is happening, yes.

astute politician. she's one of the best politicians of our time, and she doesn't make mistakes like this. and then to have it repeat again, you have to wonder e, are they tying to suggest that she shouldn't run again? it doesn't seem to me to be a coincidence. elizabeth: lee, now we have got two brand new polls out today, first from reuters-ipsos. biden is tied with trump at 39%. trump is beating biden 41-35% in 7 key swing states, georgia, arizona, wisconsin, pennsylvania, north carolina, nevada and michigan. and also lee, we've got a new "usa today" poll, 70% say the economy's getting worse, nearly half trust trump more on fing the economy versus -- fixing the economy versus biden. >> all of that looks really good for former president trump. and when you also look at some of the fox news polling that came out last night, joe biden has lost a lot of key constituents including women, suburban women, the black vote

is, hispanic vote. all of them in double digits, 10 points or more. that's significant because that was the margin that he won with the last time. so the other thing i'm really interested in in this is some we're calling the none of the above votest. there's a lot of undecidedded voters. when you look at that poll, 39-39, 20 the president -- 20%, 1 in 5 voterses is undecided. when you look at a swing states, 24% of voters are undecided, that's 11 in 4 -- 1 in 4. these are two people that a you know exactly what you're getting, and people are saying i'm just not sure what to do. elizabeth: wow. yeah. >> the question, are they going to vote at all? are they going to change their mind? the are they truly undecided, or have they just had it? what does that mean come november 2024? i think it's going to the make things harder to predict, because voter turnout is what it's all about. elizabeth: what's roiling things

is that new census bureau report. it's interesting what you're saying. we saw median household income. it did rise many five states, but more than triple that number, 17 states, saw a drop, a decline in the household income. we're showing the map where they showed where there was a drop in median householded income, lee. and, you know, when people see that, when they see their incomes going down for three years straight, they don't feel good. and what -- on top of that, they get outraged, they get angry over president biden continuing to clearly mislead on camera. let's watch this. >> we've seen record lows in unemployment particularly, and i've focused on this my whole career, marley for african-americans and hispanic workers and veterans. you know, workers without high school diplomas. i taught at the university of pennsylvania for four years. i used the teach political theory. elizabeth: okay. biden never taught a single

class. u-penn paid him a million dollars. and then he seemed to imply that minority voters, you know, they don't have a college degree. >> yeah, i think it's pretty staggering when you see that, but it's not surprising when you look at the polling why his mental fitness polling has just decreased so much over the last two years. he's dropped 15 points, a significant 15 points. he's gone from 46% of people questioning it to now 61% of people say that he's not. and there's a clear reason why. so he's either losing it, or he's terribly racist. and if anybody else were to suggest the same thing on the right, everyone would be up in arms. you just can't help but question that. i think it's really important to note that that 51% of biden's own voters are questioning whether or not they want him to run again. he's really not this a good position. and when you look at that map that you showed before, those states where people have lower income, those are some key states. you've you've got iowa, michigan, ohio, pennsylvania, virginia, wisconsin.

elizabeth: okay. joining us now from americans with tax reform is president grover norquist. grover, okay, is so president biden, chuck schumer e, they said we're going to give the irs, you know, tens of billions of dollars, and you're going to do more audits, but we won't a audit anymore making less than $400,000. but now the treasury inspector general for tax administration says, wait a second, the irs is going to audit people under 400,000. can you explain what's going on? >> yes. the number one promise that biden made to get elected was that nobody who made less than $400,000 a year, no person making hess than $400,000, would see higher taxes. so then when he decides to give $80 billion to the irs, the question came up, because he's only going to audit rich people, he says. well, are you going to have more audits on people who make less

than $400,000? and janet yellen wrote a strongly-word letter saying i don't think we plan to right now, and that was enough for the democrats who were balking at sign isinging on to the i.r.a., the inflation reduction act, the massive spending bill. they weren't going to vote for this because it was such a breaking of the president's pledge. yellen sent a letter saying, well, we have no plans to do that now. and what's happened is, of course, cbo looked at it and said there'll be, with what biden did, there'll be 700,000 more audits of people who make less than -- middle income people, 700,000. and and there'll be $20 billion squeezed out of these people at least, o.k. in so this is very pawnful. and then the democrats wanted protection, is so yellen wrote the letter. but when it came before the senate, 50 democrats voted no to the idea of limiting audits on people making less than $400,000. elizabeth: so then the treasury

inspector general goes over and talks to the irs, says, you know, the treasury secretary, yellen, said, you know, are redefine high income people, don't audit people below $400,000. the irs says to the treasury inspector general tax administration, irs needs agility to audit whomever it wish, basically said that, and the irs' definition of high income individuals is still stuck at, you know, $200,000. i think that's a 1976 level. so the irs is pushing back saying, you know, we do not -- we can't update our definition in our systems, we can't identify the population of taxpayers that meet the criteria of $400,000 or more, so it's status quo. we're just going to keep going forward awed a admitting whoever we want no matter the income level. >> that's the irs talking. the irs works for yellen. the irs works for the president. they could redefine high income from 200,000 up to 400,000, which is what the inspector

general suggested, which you point out, which would make it all easier. the irs says we have no intention of doing that, and the word you mentioned, agility, means we can go after anyone we want, and you can't stop us. we already have our $60 billion so go away. elizabeth: we're so sorry to do this to you, grover, we've got breaking news coming in from special counsel jack smith. he's basically saying that the court should limit trump's public statements, that he would prejudice, be prejudicial toward a jury in, you know, i think it's the classified documents case. so what do you think of jack smith saying, you know what? we've got to limit trump's speech. >> well, there's a case going to the supreme court because biden9 and the fbi were mow-mowing social media people, telling them what they can and can't sa- elizabeth: i've got to correct myself. it's the election interference case. it's not the classified, it's

networks all across the country and folks, liberal a hacks basically saying, well, the 14th amendment says something about insurrection, and we think that maybe donald trump was with insurrectionist, so it has to work. it has to prevent him. again, this is exactly what has been consistent, this has been how donald trump has been treated since day one, since 2016 -- since 2015. this is exactly what the teach state the does to -- the deep state does to people. and it is infectious, it's everywhere where. it's not only at the federal government, but it's at the state government. they are scared, they are afraid of him and what he represents. elizabeth: and we've got this action in georgia, the judge on the georgia 2020 case says trump will not face a speedy trial next month, in october. that's a setback to fulton county d.a. fani willis. willis had insisted that trump and all of his co-defendants in the georgia 2020 election case be tried together in october. we've got lawyer sidney powell and kenneth cheeseborough, they

won their demands for a speedy trial. now it looks like judge scott mcafee is basically saying, you know, trump, you're not going to be tried in october. this could be a delay in his trial. but let's stay on this, gene. i want to point this out. d.a. willis suggested making defendants who don't want to go to trial next month waive, waive their speedy trial under the constitution saying, you know, this is going to be a logistical quagmire if you don't do it my way. >> liz, this is, again, just something where the entire paradigm that we're operating under, fani willis having her way, is completely incorrect. why do we have speedy trial protections? we have speedy tile protections for the protection of the defendant to insure that someone doesn't languish in jail with charges hanging over them from the government threatening them with the potential of being thrown in jail for a long period of time. but if you have a very

elizabeth: look who's here, fox news contributor and civil rights attorney leo terrell. it's good to see you, lee yore. what do you make of randi weingarten now says she did not compare parental rights groups to the racial segregationists in a recent interview, but she's on videotape saying they're, quote, using the same kinds of words somewhat do you make of this? >> hypocrite, blowback, and it doesn't -- it's too little, too late, liz. this is what happened. her comments were offensive and insulting to the tie to make an analogy -- to try to make an analogy of jim crow segregation with parents' right to have school choice and have parent involvement. it was a ridiculous, insulting comparison for those who gave their lives and fought day and night for civil rights. it was the insulting. she came out and walked that back. here's the real problem, liz. she is concerned that parents

are going to take their kids out of public schools that are poor, horribly done. and what's -- the problem is simply this: schools that, public schools give the democrats and the unions money. so she's looking at this as a financial situation. she doesn't care about the kids. she cares about her bankroll so she can influence democratic politicians, liz. elizabeth: that's interesting. you know, senator tim scott, he's not having it it either, leo. let's watch this. >> those same words that you heard in terms of wanting segregation post-brown v. board of education, those same words you hear today. it's not, you know, i was kind of gob smacked when i was talking to the southern poverty law center, and they show me the same words -- choice, parental rights and attempt to divide parents versus teachers, and

that point it was white parents versus other parents. but it's the same kind of words. >> i think it's just disgusting. here's what we've heard from randi weingarten consistently, they are standing in the schoolhouse door, the teachers unions, blocking poor kids in failing schools. the devastation could end on day one when we allow choice and competition in our k-12 the education. when parents have a choice, kids have the best chance to succeed. elizabeth: you know, leo, this is not the first time weingarten has made this comparison. national review says in 2017 she declare at a bruin onconvention that, quote -- at a union convention that, quote, the real pioneers of school choice were the white politicians who resisted school integration. and she also referred to school choice programs as being, quote, the only slightly more polite cousins of segregation. what do you think? >> i'll tell you, liz, what

bothers me is that it's part of the democratic playbook. all randi weingarten is doing is playing the race card to justify an irrational thought to keep people of color in the poor public school. i got news for you, there are brown, black and white people who want to move their kids to private schools. why? because education is the key to break the poverty cycle. and you can not learn in these public schools because the schools are only focused on raising money for the union. it's insulting to every american who wants the best for their children. elizabeth: so she's basically saying, or you know, you can't have that. you out there, all those parents out there with children in public schools, you can't have school choice. you've got to do it my way or the highway, leo. >> right. and i'll tell you right now this black american, who used -- liz, i used to be a schoolteacher. i'm a civil rights lawyer. and why deny people of color, people of all colors the right to pick what school they want?
