until tuesday for going to port. but the gop is trying to cobble ski together for individual spending bills to satisfy their members next week. ohio congressman jim jordan is with me this morning. the house has left d.c. mccarthy did not get his bill through, what is the republican party going to do with the six holdouts. we will keep working through it, sometimes democracy gets messy and what did churchill say democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others. we will get through this, i do think what needs to happen on the stopgap measures, we should fund the government for short period of time while we work through the remaining appropriation bills. funded for a short period of time. stuart: can't you tell the six holdouts. the republican party at this moment is wildly unpopular out there. >> we have been trying but you have to put something on their

that the american people want us to get done while we fund the government for a short period of time and the issue is obvious, look at our southern border. i would include on the package one simple thing which says no taxpayer money will be used to process or release migrants into the country. stop it, the mayor of new york wants that everyone wants that, republicans, democrats i would put that on the bill and i would send it to descendent, dear chuck schumer, you can allow the government to shut down because you want to keep the border open. that is so obvious why we wouldn't do that and that's what were working to build a coalition around interparty and send the boat over there. stuart: it sounds like a good idea to me. why do you go to the six holdouts, what is wrong. >> i think we should call the bill up and call the question, i think our members would vote for it and frankly i think some democrats might vote for including hakeem jeffries who called the extremist i don't think that bill is extremist i think it's common sense and is

mayor in new york is talking about the huge problem he is facing so i will put that bill on the floor and fund the government for four weeks while we work through the remainder of these appropriation bills that include on the bill no money no american tax dollars can be used to process and release it into migrants into the country so we stopped the crazy situation that the biden administration has created and they've done so intentionally and i bet democrats would consider voting for that. hakeem jeffries should he talked about how bad the problem is. that's how i would do it. stuart: former president trump is encouraging house republicans to shut the government down. is that the best way to go about this. >> i don't think anybody want to shut down. another thing we can add to the bill, another thing we can add to the bill put on the same bill that i describe say nobody can be used to target your political opponent which is exactly what jack smith is doing to president trump. joe biden supports that put that question there, president biden

you think it's okay to have american tax dollars used to walk to your political opponent, put that on the bill as well i think that gets republican support and may not get democrats support because they like the idea of weaponize government against the opposition. i could put that on the bill to, those are the kinds of things that make sense and the american people support no one wants to shut down what we want is to do the things of the american people sent us to do. stuart: hunter biden will appear in court for his arraignment on gun charges. where are we on the hunter probe can you give us this day to play on this please. >> we continue to depose witnesses and we talk to for individuals part of the hunter biden investigation and that's what were focused on the judiciary committee and the house oversight committee is scheduled to have a hearing next week where i think they will outline the authority as we have is the house of representatives when we are in an impeachment inquiry phase of our constitutional duty to do oversight. we will perceive and keep doing our duty. once were in the phase of

impeachment inquiry as speaker mccarthy and asked a few weeks ago. that helps us because report today and out of the power that solely resides in the house of the representatives of the impeachment of power and if we get into the inevitable disputes of the executive branch the court has been more inclined to side with the house because we are functioning and operating under power that exclusively resides with the house. but the first hearing is scheduled for next thursday in the house oversight committee where i think will have an outline and show the amount of people first why this is warranted and all the facts it requires to move to the stage of our investigation and the authority that you do have when you're in an impeachment inquiry phase. stuart: congressman you're a busy guy but they stand for being with us. we do appreciate it always. >> coming up a good friend of the show dave portnoy went on offense against the washington post reporter. rotate. >> its reporting tactic when you want someone to respond you have to indicate that there might be something negative and then you get them to engage.
