right. 300. now it's pure guesswork. some of the bones eventually fuze together to form 206 total bones in adulthood. who knew that? a see you learn something every day on this. that makes sense. i've got to do a quick market check, you know what i mean? because we're about to leave the show. the dow is up 23, nasdaq up 88, s&p up 15 points. okay. i thought that was a pretty good show and a great week. next week, of course, we have the great debate and i'll be in california on wednesday and thursday for that. can't wait. varney and company is done. coast to coast, starts now. coming up on cavuto coast to coast, the uaw strike expanding across 20 states, but not all three automakers will be affected. we're going to tell you why and how this affects you. plus red apple group chairman and ceo john catsimatidis will join us to
12:01 pm
talk about it all. then cities and states may be forced to take drastic action as tens of thousands of migrants flood the border each month. republican montana governor greg gianforte is leading the push to have the white house provide some answers. and he'll be joining us today. apple releasing its iphone 15 today, but excited customers, well, they're facing issues actually getting their hands on the new product. we are live at the apple store this hour as always, there's a lot to get to. so let's get started. welcome everybody to coast to coast. i am ashley webster in today for neil cavuto. we begin with our top story today. it's the united auto workers union extending its strike against general motors and stellantis and authorizing more walkouts. jeff
12:02 pm
locke is there in the middle of it. he is live in wayne, michigan, with the very latest. jeff well, ashley, they have made their strategy clear now, and that is to play one automaker for against the other for ford being spared. you know, there's the strike that continues on here at the ford district, ford assembly plant here in wayne. but other than that, they are going to be spared at the same time, stellantis and gm are the victims of 38 additional walkouts across the country. sean fein, the uaw president, making that clear on a facebook live broadcast a short time ago . both gm and stellantis have rejected our profit sharing proposals and both companies have rejected our proposals to convert temps. so today at noon eastern time, all of the parts distribution facilities at general motors and stellantis are being called to stand up and strike. now parts
12:03 pm
distribution facilities, 38 of them, 20 for stellantis, 18 for gm. what is a parts distribution facility? well, it's a place where if you get car needs repair, that's where the parts come from. these have been described as cash cows as $1 million a day. maybe each one of these facilities makes. so the union trying to hit maybe where it hurts most in the pocketbook. these facilities are across 20 states in the us, so there's virtually every corner of the us that is being affected. and these are parts facilities around major cities like los angeles, new york, philadelphia, orlando, texas, dallas. at the same time, ford is being spared all of this. ford, they say, is making progress in their negotiation. i want to make sure i'm clear on it. on the cost of living increases, ford has moved on profit sharing. ford has moved on. the subject of wage tiers and strikes over plant closures. ford has given ground. gm and stellantis not
12:04 pm
so much. ford issued this statement a short time ago, saying that it is working diligently with the uaw to reach a deal, although that they're making progress, as they say in some areas. we still have significant gaps to close on key economic issues. that would be specifically wage his 40% wage increase. nobody's moving on that one yet. but there is movement and now there is an additional strike that takes place all across the country. ashley it drags on. all right, jeff, thank you very much for the latest there. and of course, we've already seen thousands of layoffs from these auto strikes. one dealer telling us that we will have to he will have to raise prices on vehicles very soon. and that, of course, is one of the big concerns. so what is the next chip to fall? and what is the impact on inflation? let's get the read from red apple group chairman and ceo john catsimatidis. john, what's your take on this strike? and do the workers have a point? they say their wages have just not kept up with inflation. they made
12:05 pm
sacrifices during covid and now it's their time to earn more. what say you? i think it's more serious than is being said right now, because the fact is that they want to the government is trying to force the ford and general motors and everybody else to convert to electric vehicles and electric vehicles. don't work. and the fact is that if the government does force general motors into electric vehicles is the fact is you don't need that many workers. so job security. well job security is in the crapper and these companies cannot agree to job security because of the fact that that you're going to need a lot less workers with electric vehicles. so which way do the pebbles fall? certainly, they need a raise because ever since there
12:06 pm
was a war on fossil fuels, besides electric vehicles is the price of gasoline has gone up. the price of food has gone up dramatically and the cost of living has gone up dramatically. and in the last 60 days and that's where don't understand our own country. we are. brant went from a $70 a barrel to $96, $95 a barrel. so what's going to happen, even though powell has paused on the interest rate increases as well, he's looking in a rearview mirror. the price of food is going to continue to go up because oil went from $70 to $96 in, what, 60 days? 90 days. so i just don't i don't understand president biden going to alaska on september 11th, on september 11th, and cutting production at the same
12:07 pm
time. russia cuts production at the same time. opec cuts production. we are taking the money out of america, the poor people and middle class out of their pockets by higher gas prices and higher food prices. and guess what? we're giving it to russia. russia is making $1 billion a day. ashley and you know what he's doing with the billion dollars a day they're fighting the ukraine and they're fighting. that's right. you know, in africa, i mean, we're creating our own banana peel and our country has to take a. let me jump in, john. let me jump in. i just want to get back to this issue that you brought up very well is inflate ation, because pretty soon here we're going to start seeing a shortage of vehicles on car dealers. lots and already we're talking about prices going back up again. just pump keeping up the inflationary pressure. how much damage could this uaw
12:08 pm
strike do to the us economy? it could do a lot of damage because i don't understand why our country that is capable of producing 1617 million barrels a day while we're producing 12.1 and forcing, you know, it could be i don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, but it could be raise the price of gas been so high that people will say thank you we'll buy an electric car. well they can't afford it, john. those electric cars are still very expensive. and we don't have the infrastructure in place to do away with range anxiety. right we're hurting actually. we're hurting our country tremendously. we're hurting it inflation wise. we're making poor people poorer, the middle class poorer, and the migrant crisis we have we have created crises in every sector of our
12:09 pm
country. we mean you can't make this up. this is this is serious business. it certainly is. and very avoidable at that. very good. well, sir john catsimatidis, as always, you're fired up. you brought the energy and we appreciate it. john thank you so much for joining us. i want to move on to this issue, and i know that john would have a lot to say about this. thank you. 25 republican governors are demanding more white house transparency as the biden administra ation relocates relocates tens of thousands of migrants around the country. where are they going? well, fox is alexis mcadams is at a migrant shelter in new york city this afternoon with more details. alexis hi. that's right. and we're trying to figure out exactly what happens right? ashley once they come to the united states, we've seen it on our tvs all throughout the week. thousands of people walking right across that border in eagle pass, texas. so now gop governors across the country are saying, hey, president joe biden, where are
12:10 pm
they going? take a look here on your screen. this is what we've been able to figure out just so far. it's not a surprise that new york city there is at the top of the list, but some of the other cities that are seeing that constant migrant migrant surge, rather, chicago, la. and dallas, that's all according to track, a nonprofit data research center. so cities and states have been sounding the alarm for months, saying they can't take it anymore. there's no more space now. gop governors sending a letter this week calling on president biden to explain where the migrants are going to the us once they enter saying, quote, your administration admitted under oath to congress that cartels prioritized the southern border as a major corridor and exploited daily for human and narcotics trafficking. our country cannot tolerate 100,000 deaths every year from a fentanyl crisis fueled by cartels pouring that fatal drug into our community. so this all comes as the dea gave a detailed report to congress the other week explaining that the sinaloa and the jalisco drug cartels pose the greatest criminal drug threat that the us has ever faced. as that surge continues, state and local leaders telling us
12:11 pm
they're doing their best to keep up. i talked to a local pastor, ashley, out in chicago yesterday. he's telling me he's spending big money all coming from his own church to feed, clothe and house the migrants. he says he's happy to help, but hey, where's the real plan? listen it's incredible that we are welcoming folks. this is all good. if there was a better strategy for how we're going to welcome them around the country , that would be big. that would be better. if there were funds to help with the short term needs or more funds that would be helpful. and as that search continues here in new york city, it's been another busy day at the roosevelt hotel, which is one of the main processing center for migrants here in manhattan. also local and state leaders like mayor eric adams are now taking a closer look at the right to shelter mandate, saying that we don't have room here to house the world. ashley they certainly don't. alexis, thank you very much. appreciate that . well, montana governor greg gianforte leading that 25 state effort to press president biden
12:12 pm
for honest and accurate data on the migrant crisis. governor, thank you so much for joining us. i personally don't think that the president has any real accurate data. i don't think they have a clue who for thousands and thousands of migrants who come across the border and simply disappear into america. what say you? well, ashley, thanks for having me on. and this is really pretty simple. since joe biden has come into office, 5.8 million people have crossed the border illegally. and those are just the ones we caught to put that in perspective, that's more than five times the population of montana. so what we're asking for, very simply, is who are these people? and i was recently down on the southern border. it was my third trip down to the border. i was in the detention center in yuma. there were 3500 people there on that particular day. that was just two days of apprehensions. now, their
12:13 pm
record according who these people are, they customs and border patrol is taking their pictures and then they're putting them on busses and airplanes. i saw a map of the united states when i was there that showed dots over every community in the us where they had located people just from the yuma sector. so customs and border patrol has this information and we very simply requested a partnership between the federal government and the states. we have to deal with these issues on our streets. tell us who these people are, where are they? identify them and help us understand their current asylum status and how your process in them. yeah, it's and you know, the threat to homeland security is enormous, is it not? thousands of unknowns, some on the terror list reports that thousands of single adult chinese individuals have come into the country. i know how china likes to spy on us. i mean, this is a
12:14 pm
massive security threat, is it not? it is. and in that detention center here, just this summer, 3500 people, that was just two days of apprehension when i was on the border previously. these people in detention were primarily day laborers from central america. on the day i was there this summer, our customs and border patrol told me there were 140 countries represented and russians, chinese africans, eastern europeans and these are not day laborers anymore. they're people of means. in fact, they told me one story of two russian nationals crossing the border with suitcases filled with cash. this is no longer a central american day laborer. people trying to find a better life, right? these are people fleeing russia and some of them are not our friends. as you mentioned, 244 people on the terrorist list have come across the southern border just during joe biden's administration. this is a
12:15 pm
crisis of his making. he needs to fix it. but he's also got to partner with the states so we can do the right job for our citizens. you know, governor, the mayor of eagle pass that has seen hundreds of thousands of migrants in texas spoke to neil yesterday and he's begging the white house to do more. listen to this. i'll get your comment here in eagle pass, we feel abandoned. we shouldn't have to be dealing with this. this is a federal issue. i have made that invitation to president biden or vice president anyone from the administration, please come visit eagle pass at the very least, you know what's going on . acknowledge the situation, put out a statement, call me, call us. let us know what you're doing to deter and control the situation. well i'm not sure if you could make out that audio, governor, but basically says we feel abandoned. you know, president biden should come down to eagle pass to get a real sense of what's going on. well, we're
12:16 pm
seeing it here in montana. we've we've confiscated more fentanyl in the first six months of this year than we did all of last year. and last year was a record year. we've apprehended mexican cartel members pushing drugs here in montana to with this crisis, the open border strategy. the biden administration in every single state today is a is a border state. and we're feeling the effects and we're asking them to do their job, secure the border and partner with the states. so we have the information so we can protect our citizens. so, governor, i want to get this in because you have you have the right to brag about this. you just signed a $1 billion tax rebate package that you've called the largest tax cut in montana's history. how the heck were you able to do that? well thanks for bringing that up, ashley. and we're proud of that. yeah, we're making montana a sanctuary for freedom and free enterprise through conservative fiscal budgeting. we were able to do the largest tax cut in
12:17 pm
the state history, and we still had money left over. so we paid off all of our debt. montana is debt free here in 23. i just wish the federal government, as they pass $33 trillion, would take a page out of our book, balance their budget just like other republican governors are doing across the state. pay down the debt and hopefully maybe retire the debt as we did here in montana. well, congratulations, sessions. i wish you could go to congress and give him a lesson. governor, thank you so much from the great state of montana . i lived in helena for three years. i still miss it. and that was many years ago. it's a beautiful place to be. governor, thank you so much for joining us today. i appreciate it. all right. a possible government shutdown. thank you very much. a possible government shutdown looming as lawmakers head home for the weekend. what some are worried that the gop may end up overshadowing their own impeachment inquiry into joe

12:23 pm
reaction from republican pennsyl lvania congressman dan meuse and congressman, i'm going to get to the impeachment inquiry in a minute, but just bottom line, do you have a group of republican lawmakers who are holdouts? they say no more, no more patches on this financial mess that we're in and that they want to talk about each individual spending bill, but how likely is that to be a successful? all your thoughts on the republicans just not being able to get their act together as some would claim. yeah, well, ashley, hey, great being with you. yeah, certainly we have 6 or 7 holdouts on a stopgap bill, a partial type of cr, but keeping something in mind mean this bill calls for an 11% reduction in in the discretionary spending that we can that we can affect. you see , i'm not sure if some of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle appreciate that the type of budget that we have, we have
12:24 pm
our mandatory spending and discretionary spending of the discretionary. it's about $1.5 trillion. would removing defense or removing homeland. and we're removing veterans funding. so that leaves us about $750 billion to reduce that level of spending, that amount is about $80 billion or about 11. that's an enormous amount on top of that, on what we can handle when we really want to deal with our budget reform, we've got to deal with both sides of the ledger, including mandatory and add this to it, ashley, where most of the provisions of h.r. two were, we will be securing the southern border with this bill . so the idea that we're have any holdouts is wrong. but keep this in mind. we have six holdouts. it's the democrats have 212. there's 212 democrats that won't vote for reasonable reductions and a secure border . but you know, these holdouts
12:25 pm
say that speaker mccarthy's gone back on his words and is not allowing, you know, discussion on all those. so spending bills in their entirety as opposed to a cr, a patch. you know, to me, that doesn't seem like there's any ground that's going to be given here in your opinion, do you think we are facing a shutdown? well you know, again, some of them are making a good the enemy of perfect. but speaker mccarthy hasn't gone back on anything. we've had very, very candid and frank discussions in a very open behind closed doors, but open among our republican caucus. and we're now looking at a top line of 1.471, which was the fiscal year 22. he's relinquishing a lot. even this $300 million i'm hearing is going to be perhaps pulled out of this stopgap, which is more appropriate name for it, and be done on an amendment which, by the way, i don't agree with because that sends the wrong message to putin. but and it's a little bit of a game. it's sausage
12:26 pm
making in order to pick up a couple of votes, which which again, the leader has to do. but i will just add this. if we don't come to our senses, we are going to surrender control . and our position to the democrat to the senate and we will suffer the consequences. more importantly, the american people will suffer the consequences. very quickly, congressman, you mentioned putin. president biden announcing a new $325 billion aid package for ukraine following president zelensky's trip to both washington and new york. what's your reaction on this latest round of aid? well, the biden's proposal is a lot more. it's a 24 or $25 billion. and the problem is this. it is it is it is lopsided. us has put in $110 billion. the eu and uk and japan of equal gdps have put in to support the ukraine about 35 billion. so so that is no way reasonable, that is no
12:27 pm
way appropriate. chair if biden had any leadership in his bones and in that white house, he'd be saying, hey, i'm going to ask for ten for another ten from the american people. but, but, but i'm going to get 15 from our eu partners that have more at stake in this since it's in their region than we do. right. that's what needs to be done. state department, and it needs to go to work. congressman dan musa, the republican from pennsylvania, congressman, thank you so much for taking some time to chat with us. we do appreciate it. okay, ashley, back to this story. thank thank you. uaw striking back, this time at presidential candidate tim scott. why this standoff is getting more political by the day. we'll have the story after the break.

12:31 pm
going backwards. that has to stop. yes more than not hit another assembly plant. why a parts and distribution center there primarily supplying dealers around the country. why not hit another assembly plant? well, that may be that may be the next step we take. you know, there's a lot of options with our stand up strike strategy. and it's just going to depend on what these companies do. this is our next move in the process. and i think it's a great move. this is one of the strongest aspects of our membership is these pdcs . they generate a lot of profits, especially for stellantis. they generate a lot of profits during the economic recession. often these are the people that kept the company going. these are the people that were working seven days a week, 12 hours a day during the recession. the company's not thinking about that. when he talked about how would you characterize negotiations with stellantis right now from the outside, a lot of people think your farthest away with stellantis compared to gm and ford, gm and ford or gm and stellantis are both in the same place. in my opinion. we we've not made progress there and it's unfortunate they chose and i want to make this clear, they
12:32 pm
chose for us to be out here right now. this wasn't a decision we made. this was a company's decision. we came to them at the beginning of bargaining over eight weeks ago with the demands. we gave them everything up front. they waited for over a month to even respond to our economic demands. there's no excuse for that. they we've told them from the outset, don't wait till the last week. you're going to find yourself in a bad position and they decided to wait till then. this is all on them. but sean, there were leaked messages that came out overnight from someone within the uaw, essentially saying, look, we create chaos here. we'll have these guys scrambling around, give the appearance that you guys want to keep them guessing for an extended period of time that you want to go on strike seven, eight, nine weeks, whatever the length may be, but not for a week. you don't want to get a resolution. what do you say to that? the people who saw those messages and thought, wait a second, this isn't bargaining in good faith? i say, i say, shame on the corporations for putting that bs out there. number one, we have you saying that's not true. that was that message true? we have. the message may be true, but but whoever said it but the point is this. that's not been our
12:33 pm
mission has been to get an agreement before bargaining started. we want our members to get their fair share of economic justice. and when we talk about chaos and all that, we have to plan, we have to plan for the worst case scenario. we have to plan because we know how these companies act. and we know that we planned on the fact that they were going to screw around and wait till the end. like they always do. instead of getting serious about our members concerned. so we have a plan in place and call it chaotic, call it what you want to call it. it's strategic and everything we're doing and this the companies own this. this is on their shoulders. everything that's happening right now is on their shoulders. they own it because they chose not to take care of the membership. sean fein, president of the uaw out here at the mopar parts and distribution center in centerline, just north of detroit. frank, i'll send it back to you. no pay, no birx pay, no part. pay all right. well, there you had it. you saw the uaw president, sean fein, there talking to reporters on the picket line in centerline, michigan. basically saying
12:34 pm
that, look, they are going to expand this strike, especially with gm and stellantis, because he says those two automakers are just not coming to the table to bargain properly. he said they are making more progress with ford. but bottom line is, it doesn't look like this is going to be over any time soon. and by the way, former president donald trump is planning to meet with some of those striking workers. so it is getting political. meanwhile, the call has gone out for president joe biden to do more as well. so with that in mind, joining me now is gop pollster chris wilson and fox news contributor richard fowler . all right, chris, let me begin with that. it donald trump saying, hey, i'm going to go out there and talk to the workers all ready, kind of, you know, getting himself in the middle of this. do you think that's a good move? well, i think it's interesting the contrast between him and what joe biden is doing. joe biden, as you said, they've called out for him to get involved and, you know, biden, the democrats formally are champions of organized labor. they're not even bothering to show up at
12:35 pm
the strike. and, in fact, it just shows how much democrats have have really abandoned their blue collar base and turned it over and surrendered. it really to republicans and now you have seen these type of workers, the blue collar workers, become a core part of the republican base. and biden is going to have a hard time convincing these workers and the people who would have made who would make up a victory coalition for him in some of these rust belt states that he cares about them when instead of showing up in michigan, he's going out to silicon valley to meet with a bunch of democrat elites and do a fundraising event instead. and that creates real problem for not just him, but democrats everywhere as we move into november. because again, there abandoning their base and it's a key part and a core aspect of it that they need if they're going to be successful next year in the elections. richard, let me bring you into this. and i understand you're a backer of mr. desantis, is that right? what's your take on this? trump going to the workers? oh, i'm so sorry. of course, you i go to the one way round. richard,
12:36 pm
let me get back to you. i apologize for that. chris. we know you are the desantis backer. all right, richard, i want to get on to the upcoming debate. i want to get on to the upcoming debate. it appears that donald trump will not be there. at least that's what we think. there are those talking of ron desantis who say he was too much kind of in the background. what's at stake in this second gop primary debate at nikki haley ramaswami they had good first debates. what do you expect to see the second time around? and well, actually, i think these two issues are rather these two issues are linked. earlier today, i published an article speaking to a forbes where a ford worker who's currently on strike for forbes magazine said, and when you listen to her story, she'll be front and center right as well as the striking actors and writers will be front and center in this gop debate. just earlier this week, one of the gop candidates, tim scott, said that if you go on strike, uh, you should be fired. and what when you hear workers like the

ones we just saw in that clip there, they would tell you we have nothing else to give. all we have to give is our labor. so when we decide not to show up to work, when we decide that we are going to put our paychecks on the line, because in the case of ford in the case of the worker that i sat down with her boss, the president of ford, the ceo of ford motor companies, is making 281 times more money than she's making. and let me just get you let's get the facts on this one. she makes. she doesn't even make enough money to afford a new a brand new ford car that she's producing in her factory. and i think that's the kind last that i think a lot of americans are feeling in this moment. they feel that ceos are making so much money and they aren't. and i think that is whether you're a democrat and or you're a republican, that's what the american voter is feeling, that pressure. and you have to identify with that pressure. and if you don't, the voter will will that's that's where the voter is going to vote in this upcoming election. i'm sorry, but we're going to have
12:38 pm
to leave it right there. gentlemen you can blame sean faine for that, but thank you very much. i want to shift gears as new jersey democrat senator bob menendez and his wife have been indicted on charges of bribery. fox news congressional correspondent chad pergram has the very latest on capitol hill. also coming up, apple releasing its. yeah, go ahead. sorry. go ahead, chad. okay. okay okay. well, we are it's a major my mistake for a senator indicted for corruption. it's a major indictment for bob menendez. he was indicted for corruption and cleared in a mistrial just a few years ago. now, the feds, they slapped bob menendez and his wife with counts of using his office to help egypt. so as you can see here, this is the mercedes-benz that we allege that your rebate provided as part of the scheme. what you see here are three kilograms of gold. these three kilograms together are worth approximately. $150,000. and of course, here you can see just a

fraction of the cash that was uncovered as part of the scheme . in a statement, menendez accused prosecutors of, quote, trying to silence my voice and dig my political grave. he also said prosecutors misrepresented the work of his congressional office. menendez claimed he did nothing wrong in april as allegations swirled and this inquiry will end up, i believe, in absolutely nothing. number two, do you know the history you just recited? not only did the jurors not believe the government's case at the time, but the judge kicked out the most significant elements of their charges, saying there was no there there. this could put the senate seat in play next year. that's a problem in a narrowly divided senate. this is trouble for the chair of the foreign relations committee accused of assisting egypt. he likely needs to step down as chairman of the foreign relations committee. a spokeswoman for jim risch of
12:40 pm
idaho, the top republican on that panel, says it's up to democratic leaders to handle menendez. menendez had to step aside as the top democrat of the committee amid the first indictment. new jersey's political class says things look bad for the senator. difficult, it seems to me, for united states senator to explain why he's got $480,000 in cash stuffed in jackets with his name emblazoned on them, hanging in closets in his home . menendez is expected in court next wednesday. citizens for responsibility and ethics in washington or crew did demands that menendez resign. back to you. all right, chad, thank you very much. coming up, apple releasing its new iphone 15 series today. and our very own susan lee is at the apple store in new york city. and susan, what do we have coming up? yeah so we know that lines are back

this advertising. the biggest ideas inspire new ones. 30 years ago, state street created an etf that inspired the world to invest differently. it still does. what can you do with spy. it is launch day. apple's new iphone now available in stores and online. susan lee in the middle of the action live outside apple's flagship store in manhattan. susan yeah, so we've been talking to some of the diehard apple fans that have been lining up since 8 p.m. last night to be some of the first to get their hands on the new iphone 15 and the other
12:46 pm
devices on sale. we also had apple ceo tim cook on hand to open this flagship store this morning. i went inside and had a quick chat with him. two things that he's very enthusiastic about in the new iphone lineup. titanium instead of steel on the pro models. and since we are in this global chip battle right now, the pro models have the first three nanometer chip in any smartphone. now the smartphones and these iphones are not cheap, as we know, but apple was hesitant to raise prices all that much this year because of 20 year high interest rates and sticky inflation. now, we asked some of these individuals who have lined up, why would you still spend in this type of environment? here's what they told us. honestly, with inflation and, you know, the days that we're living right now, it's normal. you know, there's bound to be a price increase or, you know, surcharge on everything that we do. we spend like, what, maybe 6 to $10 on coffee every morning. you know, having a
12:47 pm
phone is a necessity. and i feel like, you know, you should treat yourself once in a while , treat yourself the model there. now, i would i will say that a lot of the analyst checks so far say that the top of the line the pro models the pro max's are selling better than expected and you have production delays meaning you have to wait until mid november for the pro max model, mid october for the pros. and we checked in on the telco deals. a lot of these phones are being subsidized by the at&t s and also the t-mobile's. if you look at the subsidies, you're practically getting $1,000 back from some of those telecom companies. so maybe that's what's spurring demand and apple needs it right now since they are staring down a fourth straight quarter of falling sales, longest losing streak actually in over two decades. you know what? susan's fascinating to me and to the person you spoke to, people are quite prepared to pay this large amounts of money. but the iphone 15 doesn't have a whole lot of new gadgets that you
12:48 pm
would think would want people to upgrade. it's fascinating. well, it depends on the cycle as well, because we know there are 2 billion devices. is that are being used around the world and not all of them are brand new. some of them haven't been bought in the last 2 or 3 years. so maybe they feel with the telecom subsidies, you're practically getting a new phone. they thought, okay, maybe it's time to upgrade now . wow. very good. that makes sense. susan lee at the apple store in manhattan. susan, great stuff. thank you very much. time now to check in with brian brenberg and the big money show to see what's coming up in about 15 minutes. brian hey there, ashley. well, 1.6 billion, that's the total economic loss from one week of the autoworkers strike. the union upping the ante as of noon. 20 states now affected. we're on it. and dressing down for the senate. both sides of the aisle are annoyed about the slob dress code. that's all at one. but first, more coast to coast after this. it's friday, friday. gotta get down on

whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. feisty pants. just let the snowman be. i'm calm. great oh, come on. i love it. disney ceo bob iger wants to thaw relations in the culture wars. iger says the tension is bad for business. yes. and he aims to quote, quiet the noise. a fox news contributor, gary kaltbaum is here. gary, you're based in florida, so put on your mickey mouse ears. you say this is a smart move by mr. iger, right? yeah without taking sides. get back to your business and they are now in the last week they announced they're doubling capex on their parks. their theme parks, which is their huge profit center to $60 billion over the next ten years. and i have to tell you, there are two numbers that i really do believe are driving the bus for mr. iger right now. the first number is 59, and that's the stock is down 59% in the last two and a half years
12:54 pm
while the dow is flat. that's number one. number two is that 59% represents $220 billion of shareholder wealth lost. so last look, markets do dictate policy. so he's getting back to the business at hand. and hopefully it works because it's a very important company to central florida, to florida and the rest of the markets. you know, how can they bring that stock price back around? you mentioned the parks and the cruise business, which have been very profitable, but not so much domestically. but more so overseas. so what do they have to do domestically, gary, to get them back on track? one foot over the other? you know, simple as that. yeah. you got to get the got to get people wanting to go to parks. there have been you know, people that reviewing saying the parks look a little old and things like that you got to get away from that. they also got to get back
12:55 pm
to them on the movie front. they've had a few flops as of recent on a company that's had some garganta con wins over the years. and then there's the streaming front. they came out gangbusters, but what major competition for the streaming dollar right now, because there's so many that's got to be worked on, they got to get profitable on it. they're heading towards that way. so it's just i think i don't know if it's a matter of time, but time is what they're going to need and they're going to have to work hard. and if anybody can get the job done, it's mr. iger. he's a very smart cookie. he is very smart cookie indeed. very quickly, 10s. not a great week for the markets. gary, do you expect that to continue into the next week? what's going on short term yields are overbought and the market's oversold. so i think we can bounce, but it's very simple. if ten year yields keep going higher and head towards 5, market's going to be under pressure, especially with the other side of the one two punch. oil prices continue to just go higher on almost a
