fed is behind the curve by inflation and we saw the latest august numbers and inflation is accelerating again and the markets started to adjust. you know, i think that if you look at john taylor's rule, which tells you what the interest rate out to be and fight inflation. it's depending on assumption of 6 and 7% for the federal funds rate and there's a lot of ways to go and what that means is the 10-year treasury and mortgages are going up too and i would expect people should think about treasury rates in the 5-6 range and mortgage rates being in the 8-9 range. elizabeth: kevin, what do you make of this? we hear from wall street that china and other nations, they're major buyers of u.s. debt and they're now selling. is that true? >> that's correct. just remember though that who's buying and who's selling is something that some people obsess over and doesn't have a huge effect on the market claim price and if somebody buys, they did it a penny more than the other guy. the chinese are really, really in trouble and they're in

recession. they're on the state media and talking about the denial and a lot of pence funds and interest rate income and something you couldn't do in a few years ago. elizabeth: the blue chip economic survey indicators and we want to get a handle of what's going on with bidenomics and the u.s. economy. this is rattling and ruining the president's approval rate existence and it's 39% where the fed is raising rates and raising rates to stop inflation and the blue chip economists, kevin, they're saying that's not what's the issue here with inflation. it's the supply chain, it's

energy prices and more. what do you think of that? >> there's a point there but i think that you and i have been talking about this ever since the biden stimulus pass. in the end; right. suppose they're spend ago trillion more than in 2019 and unless there's a trillion more supply then prices will go up and what's happened is the government spent so much money that supply can't keep up with demand and don't expect inflation going down and this is the fed with paul vulker as much as ronald reagan and in his first year in office, he cut spending 23%. he cut it. not relative to baseline, it went down and that helps the -- causing inflation to go down. elizabeth: that was the peacetime dividend he was

working on too to do the cuts. we've got buckingham strategic wealth; right? they say that the end of 2021 people are worried about the federal reserve not having a handle on the forecast. what do you think of this? we're going to raise rates three time and that the target rate below 1% and the fed reserve raised fed funds rates two times since 20226789 we're going to see another rate hike by november and we don't know when there could be cuts and what do you think? >> right. well the market thinks next year is two cuts and they're not going to happen. they think we're going to raise another one or two times this year and i think they will, but they'll have to raise next year too. till you get to the taylor range at 6-7%, inflation is not really going to go down. the bottom line is that i wrote an article of national review about a year ago and said the fed should stop publishing their forecast and their forecast just undermines confidence in the fed.

that's so wrong. so they talk about publishing our forecast because of transparency and tell everybody we're going to move next year and move five times, what's the value of transparency. the fed is terrible forecasting record and the reason is that it's 500 economists and 490 of them are train in cambridge and they don't understand the way the world works and don't understand supply and keep getting things wrong and they'll continue to. that's why inflation is out of control right now. elizabeth: it's interesting and the ivory tower economics and just out of touch for reality. >> i was chairman of the council of economic advisers and don't forget the fed hiked rates after the tax cuts and surprise between supply and demand and supply goes down and they didn't understand that and that kind of misconception means that the fed

all that. doesn't look good to have tons of money in gold bars. >> the evidence they've disclosed pays a very clear picture of what's going on. from a defense perspective and defense attorneys are always going to try and come up with alternate explanations of how things could appear to be damming looking and maybe not so in reality. i don't know if they have that opportunity here. it seems like this is a very tightly investigated case and tightly charged case and seems they've really done a thorough job based upon what's been disclosed in the indictment and we don't know the source of the investigation. that initiated this case moves closer to trial and in order to keep this, you have to show alternative explanation. elizabeth: you're so smart. good to have you on the show.

dick durbin there's a resolution to stop it. durbin doesn't like it. schumer is ruining the most sacred space and setting for most consequential debate on war and peace, freedom and slavery. but why is it the rush to lowest common denominator. i think clearly everybody there must know, it could be about needing certain votes and we know the left does not like their traditions of the country. we know the left thinks that we think too much of ourselves and there's been this pattern whether it is about das that, you know, in the end of cash bail, district attorneys that think, you know, crime and looting is reparations and it's about really d denigrating the name of the imagery of the country and somebody like schumer isn't necessarily pushed around and it could just be in fact that this is what they're trying to do maybe to get

everything out about younger voters and appealing to the far left. about gestures of what they take seriously or not. before they thought after january 6 this was a special enough body to put a fence around the capitol. now you can walk in like you've gotten out of the bathroom and it's hard to take seriously and for the democrats, they seem to wing it from day-to-day and there's no actual plan whether it was destroying syria or what to do the next day putting out a policy that was going to run the energy instrategies structure or ideas attack -- infrastructure or energy vehicles and don't have the energy for what we're using and nobody is thinking about it and pandering from day-to-day. unless fetterman has a power that we don't know about, there's no reason for it. elizabeth: we're going to have to see about that. we'll have tammy bruce back on again. we hope so.

congresswoman victoria spartz from house withdrew dishly. congresswoman, thank you so much for joining us -- house judiciary. congresswoman, what message were you trying to get across there? thanks for joining us tonight. >> thank you for having me, liz. i'll be honest with you. you know, as someone who grew up in a dictatorship and came with ideas and ideals of this being the greatest republic with freedoms, i am actually appalled and shocked what's happened in our country. and i ran for congress because i got sick and tired, i was not american, i was sick and tired. i hate to tell you, it seem to me that a lot of politicians here don't realize how they affect people's lives. so i wanted to make sure the attorney general understands what he's doing right now is and how destructive it is for the republic when they try to intimidate millions of americans to just be opposed to some government views. you have a right in this country. you know, if we don't have a right to oppose our government and say you are wrong, it's a

dictatorship, and i cannot, i cannot let our republic fail because we have so much politics in washington d.c. and i wanted to let him know if he doesn't, because it seems like a lot of people don't here. elizabeth: so, congresswoman, you grew up in the soviet union, you grew up in ukraine. what bothered you the most about a.g. garland's testimony? >> well, listen, i said under testimony and i hate to tell you, you know, unfortunately until you start dealing with money and taking money from this agency, do proper authorizations, they don't care. i honestly -- how if they ever question me, you know? you don't recall anything? everything is under investigation? statute of limitation expire? it's all the same. we'll get back with you on this, but they never get back, never if respond to the letter. they mow they need to wait -- know they need to wait five minutes, never answer anything, and, unfortunately, congress is not doing their job by continuing giving money, doing this continuing resolution, continue funding these agencies
