it is coming down about an inch every couple of hours. new york city. good morning, every one. it is 10:00 eastern. the markets coming back a bit. we are up 100. nasdaq up 170, 1.3%, solid gain. the yield on the 10 year treasury coming down a little. down 5 basis points. we are up 452, the price of oil, bitcoin around 26,894. any minute, the president of the united auto workers union, sean fain, will deliver remarks on the ongoing strikes. he will say if the strikes will be extended again or not. we have this on our hands, the latest read on consumer sentiment.

to save this country, virginia needs him, he has a lot of potential and talent, maybe the secretary of education. there is all kinds of talent. what worries me is we talk about people being in denial, donors and everyone else have to admit what the american people are saying, we want to return to success, policies that help our lives, energy independence to an economy that can work. it may not be trump. nikki haley and ron desantis, that is great, but we are coming to the point, our lives matter, we are just regular people listening to us for a minute, it would be okay, things will be fine. america has dealt with all kinds of things. this is a turning point and trump represented that but the american people understand why

he is leading to that nomination and deal with it and some of this dynamic. stuart: california senator dianne feinstein has passed away at the age of 90. you worked on her first campaign in 1992. >> she was, by the way, we disagree on some of the issues, she is really the last vestige of what the democratic party used to represent. she was the conservative one for democrats in 92. barbara boxer who was running at the same time, she wasn't doing well, so my idea to pair them, to pool boxer across the finish line which worked but feinstein was doing well because she was seen as conservative, remarkable background, lovely woman, genuinely cared about the issues. sometimes right, sometimes wrong, but that is the kind of politician's they need.

it is sad, lovely woman, rest in peace, but for me it is another individual, many democrats who, like me, i am now become a republican but that was our option, you have the feinsteins of the world when you talk decent politicians who won't lie to you about what is going on, value-based, pursue those values, that was dianne feinstein. we are worse off with her being gone. it will be interesting to see what the democratic party thinks they will do about that. it is a shame. stuart: thanks very much. appreciate it. donald trump is going after the republican national committee again. now what is he saying? lauren: he said the daily caller has to stop debates, no more debates, bad for the republican party. they are not going anywhere meaning there is no breakout candidate. we might have seen that two

times the past two debates, nikki haley was the breakout candidate, vivek ramaswamy was the breakout candidate in the second debate but everyone is trying to be the alternative. stop with the debates because he's got the lead. who else wells is gaining enough momentum? stuart: what is he 60 points out? after the debate, 62 points ahead of desantis. when is the next debate? lauren: november and i am a. do we know if trump is participating? i don't know. he thinks he needs to. he thinks he will -- for lack of a better word, coronation. >> this is for the democrats. we should continue to have debates, this is a chance democrats are looking, who can we choose other than biden, other than someone else. we owe the company and the

republicans have to embrace this idea of this is who we are now. beyond that, trump needs that, whoever becomes the nominee, to bring america forward, it independents, democrats and other republicans as well. the debate should continue. even more substantive and we can dig into some of these positions but they have to continue on. donald trump would be better off and everyone would be better off. stuart: i would be honored to do another debate. back to the markets, still seeing green. i like the look of the nasdaq up 158 points. to analyze this market, we've got a modest rally. are you predicting a solid rally going forward? >> yes and no. we are coming to the end of the seasonal volatility.

the fed got the personal consumption expenditure is less than anticipated. that's fueling the markets. my call for the rest of the year is to see the fed go dovish before the end of the year. we won't drop rates but they stop organically which fuel a 10% rally from now to the end. stuart: 10% rally between now and the end of the year, that's a solid rally indeed. i will go through them. meta, google, amazon, start at the top, meta, what is so special and where is it going? >> it's earnings will expand and outperform. they are an ai play as well as google and amazon but those stocks carry the market this year. in this type of environment where the rest of the market is lagging, just a month ago, everyone saying small caps, that hasn't worked out well so far. things have dropped since then. companies are expanding when we

up, the nasdaq is up 150, that is a rally. any moment now, sean fain will give an update on the strike. our are other carmakers feeling the effects of the union strike against the big three. stuart: ashley: they are. the ripple effect of the strike could hurt car drivers, car dealers, auto parts suppliers. a long, drawnout standoff will reduce the number of cars and make it harder for people to repair their vehicles, reduce demand for parts needed to to make new vehicles. as popular models become scarce, dealers are likely to push up prices. one other factor to point out, servicing and repairing vehicles is the most profitable dealerships, service departments bring in so much money they can cover most of the other costs of running a dealership. as you can see the longer the strike goes on the bigger the scope of the economic impact.

ascertain, about 3000 assembly line workers make the chevy traverse, the buick encore, the gmc acadia. those are suvs. the report from reuters, they also going to target the chicago assembly plant, uniontown in chicago. the ford explorer is a big money maker and seller for forward. this would be the first time they expanded the strike when it comes to forward, that was against only gmc and stellantis plants. if this is what goes down here, the live stream has been delayed by 20 minutes. what is going on here, reuters with those two plants, made an

the strike will be only at the gm plant in lansing, michigan, the delta township plant, there are multiple plants are, delta township plant, the suv plant and before to explore plant in chicago, those are the ones that will be struck. they will not extend additional striking to any stellantis plants. they made significant progress with stellantis prior to this announcement. they are excited about that progress. to be clear, what is being struck? the lansing double township plant makes the chevy traverse, buick encore and gmc acadia. that's 3000 workers. the ford explorer in chicago and lincoln aviator. as you reported earlier, those plants make a lot of money from
