it is -- good morning. it is 10:00 eastern time. to the money please. this selloff is a lot worse. we are down sharply on the dow, the nasdaq recovered somewhat. the rise in the 10 year treasury yield stopped. 4.7%, and other technology stocks, the price of oil, $89 a barrel, not much change, bitcoin, 27,000 and change, we received the latest read on job openings, otherwise known as jobs. ashley: the number is 9. 60 one million, that's the number of job openings at the end of august. we were expecting 8.8 billion.

we were expecting 8.8, the labor market would be extremely tight. that's not the case but look at that, 9.61 million openings. stuart: that means it is a strong labor market. not sure the fed wants to see that. no immediate reaction on wall street, dollars down 120, nasdaq 87, thank you very much indeed. now this. here's the deal. congressman matt gaetz is trying to remove speaker mccarthy, forget what a ridiculous spectacle this presents and focus on the damage coming our way. the speaker will almost certainly need democrat votes to survive. they will not give him those without concessions. the battle for republicans and a wintry democrats. the democrats may sit back and laugh as the gop destroys itself. that is politics.

you see that crash coming, there are huge ripples. what do you see happening in commercial real estate? >> the banking system has a lot of problems, commercial banking, real estate, we are in for some dire times which i don't want to say the sky is falling, we have part of the economy doing terribly poorly. of commercial real estate, these loans coming through, to get that back on their feet, i've been in the chicago area the loop where it is busy, spoke to some people how bad the businesses are, a lot of left because there is nobody left in these buildings. they say they're only 30% or 40% occupancy, probably lower than that. they are not asking people to come back to the office like people think they are. we are in dire straits when it

comes to real estate, presidential real estate. we have a problem on our hands. neil: i just want to add to residential real estate. another report shows homes in 99% of the counties in america are unaffordable for the average home buyer. it is an extraordinary statistic. the american dream is temporarily on hold, isn't it? >> think a lot of those places, 12 counties at risk of going under when it comes to illinois. look where these places are, illinois, 50 out of 50 states as far as return on your property since 2,022. it has gone up 13% and the real estate taxes, second in the nation behind new jersey, there is is 2.1. if you are paying 2% of your

weather events and disasters. climate disasters affected one in ten houses in the united states that led to damages exceeding $86 billion. severe flooding, wildfires, extreme heat putting significant financial burdens on households across the country. families unable to clean pay for repairs will see their property values decline or vanish. extreme weather could lead to food shortages. increased medical expenses and loss of jobs as businesses face mounting costs. neil: the premise of that calculation is extreme weather is the result of climate change. they -- the cause -- and what is that about.

similar story we are seeing southeast from here in brownsville, texas, where a group of several dozen migrants turned themselves into authorities for processing. up the road from their we are seeing some of the largest groups coming across the border. the sheriff department sent from the fort brown golf course in brownsville sunday night, over the last 72 hours authorities say 3000 have crossed in that area. the steady flow of migrants up and down the us/mexico border has some business owners all over border towns on edge and worried about the bottom line. >> we don't want to go downtown anymore because you don't know if it is safe. has me wondering about security cameras and every corner covered and stuff like that.

stuart: so far the administration has paid no political price for this but i think that is beginning to change. as the migrants hit new york, dc, chicago, i think the political calculus is changing. what say you? >> the political calculus is changing because you can see the. one reason the biden administration ordered border patrol to stop enforcing border sovereignty is it looked bad when you start to see 40,000 migrants under a bridge in texas. rather than allow the visual to build up they are moving them off the border as quickly as possible oftentimes with flight at 2:00 in the morning going to major cities across america. if you don't see it, no one will do a story about it but there's millions of them. you are seeing new york and los angeles and chicago and other blue cities get overrun with migrants are here illegally and

the ripple effects are there as we are in day 19. stuart: opec sounding the alarm how much money is invested in the oil industry. they want more money invested. ashley: of course they do. opec is concerned this lack of investment in the oil industry will pose a danger if global energy security consent prices to $100 a barrel. the total investment of $12 trillion is needed between now and 2045 to prevent a striking energy prices. brent crude, the widely used crude, 29% since low and mid june on the back of extended output cuts by saudi arabia and russia. it is a contrast to the international energy agency that is calling for spending on
