>> absolutely. i'm not a national security or political expert that markets can tell you a lot, treasury yields drop with stronger than expected inflation report. they expect this to escalate or stay around pretty long. maybe a china/taiwan event, between russia, ukraine, israel, and hamas. the national debt is passed the point of no return and only go up from here, the scary part is government is spending money like it is wartime. we have the same level of debt to gdp we were at at the end of world war ii but our economy is 100 times bigger than it was in world war ii. that's a lot of debt. the other comparison is interest rates. in world war ii interest rates were less then one%. one person. now our debt is refinanced at 5%. that is unprecedented amount of debt so the solution, you either reduce debt or increase gdp.

when israel is about to launch a huge invasion? how can you possibly help them out? >> that an incredibly complicated question. you could, from a military operation perspective do it at the same time as a ground invasion will coordinate rescues to go down independently, but it depends on the battlefield that is laid out with hamas telling people not to leave, that complicates the situation by keeping chess pieces on the chessboard itself, doesn't make it impossible but certainly makes it more complex. stuart: if israel is going to eradicate hamas, it will level much of gaza i presume which means, i hate to put it like this but there is not that much hope of rescuing those people being held hostage now.

>> i don't like those terms but i tend to agree with you, i don't think an ideology can truly be destroyed. 's israelis going to achieve military goals they have stated and clear the entire area to make a difficult decision. how much are they going to tolerate when it comes to loss of life, civilians or hostages. tactical perspective, taking hostages on the battlefield or civilians on the battlefield makes sense. i hope those people being told not to leave realize those telling them not to leave don't care about them. they care about their own ideology. stuart: is it possible for america to help ukraine militarily, to help israel militarily and help taiwan militarily, if there's another threat from china.

what i'm getting at is can we do all of this at the same time? do we need a huge increase in our defense budget? >> conceptually we would be able to do it. the israeli military is capable in combat. they have counterterrorist forces, hostage rescue forces. from a support perspective the best thing we can do, from intelligence arena, the same thing, to allow our military to be disparate across the globe from a fully engaged perspective but the military ability we have through the intelligence complex or ground support, if we apply it properly we could do so so in concept, it is possible --

philadelphia. in your opinion, what is the reality of the president's economic policies? >> reporter: how much time are you giving me for this segment. the president will be here in three hours. at the terminal behind me, talking about spending $7 billion on the hydrogen hub out of the bipod is an infrastructure bill. there will be 7 of these hubs around the country. the president believes hydrogen can be a cleaner source of energy for heavy-duty transportation at a source of energy used in steel, chemical, and cement manufacturing. the american petroleum institute says national security at the same time the us should be building the oil and natural gas industry. >> as we look around the world and consider where the supply should come from we think the first choice especially for american policymakers should always be the united states. >> reporter: the president coming here well 14 americans

in inflation since he came into office is a terrible situation for all of us, not just alaska but also the bigger scheme of things, shooting down and wire --anwar shutting down a host of opportunities in alaska doesn't bode well and we see this happen across the country and with mores happening overseas, we need to be explored, developing more here now in america than before. right now those policies are not helping us. stuart: can you exploit the resources of alaska? >> absolutely. if they take the cuffs off in washington the agencies are able to permit a timely fashion. not only are they stopping fossil fuels but if you want to do anything renewables you have to have a timely funding process, can't wait 10 or 15 years for a renewable project or transmission project so it

is a double whammy for us. it is the fact they don't want us on fossil fuels. stuart: rising interest rates will be difficult for you. you need to borrow money for these projects, they get more expensive. >> when these bills came out, that money would sit in the table with inflation to erode those funds. we don't get permitting in that order and our spending under control, we are going to have a bigger problem than we have now. stuart: i want to talk about what is going on in the house of representatives, they don't have a speaker, ten days with no speaker. almost embarrassing, people are in despair. what's going on? >> it is my hope this week they come together and get a speaker who is qualified. that is our hope. a number of qualified folks, but speaking about representative jordan, i think
