hamas uses innocent families in gaza as human shields, put in their command centers, their weapons, communications, residential areas. palestinian people are suffering greatly as well and mourn the loss of innocent palestinian lives. i was outraged by the enormous loss of life in the hospital in gaza. based on the information we have seen it was the result of errant rocket fired by a terrorist group from gaza. the united states unequivocally stands with the protection of civilian life during conflict, and i truly grieve for the families killed or wounded by this tragedy. the people of gaza need food, medicine, shelter. i asked the is really cabinet, to agree to humanitarian assistance.

announcing one hundred million dollars in us in us funding for humanitarian assistance both gaza and the west bank. this money will support one million displaced palestinians including emergency needs in gaza. you are a jewish state but also a democracy. like the united states, you don't live by the rules of terrorists. you live by the rule of law. when conflicts fair, you live by the rule of wars which sets us apart from the terrorists. we believe in the dignity of every human life. israeli, palestinian, arab, jew, muslim, christian, every one. can't give up what makes you who you are. if you give that up, the terrorists win. we can never let them win. israel is a triumph of faith

and resolve and resilience over impossible pain and loss. think about october 7th, the jewish holiday, you read about the death of moses, a tragic story of loss to an entire nation. of death that could have left a helpless hopelessness in the hearts of the entire nation lodz though moses died, his lessons have lived on for generations of the jewish people and to many others. your loved ones will live on as well. after reading the story of moses's death, those who observe the holiday begin reading the torah from the beginning, story of creation reminds us of two things, first, when we get knocked down, we get back up again and we begin a new. when faced with tragedy and loss we must go back to the beginning and remember who we are.

uranian's not to attack? >> i'm not sure that will convince the uranian's. i think he was speaking as much as anyone to the u.s. congress because he is going to be asking them for a big package of arms but that will be tied inevitably to aid ukraine. that is what republicans want to do. it is a tough sell. he has to convince americans this is our fight, not just israel's fight. he made a good pitch, diplomatically i'm not sure he is achieved much except for is this, it seems they will open that border between gaza and egypt and that is a big deal because that's the single thing he could have convinced israel to do. he will not convince benjamin netanyahu not to root out terrorists. he has to do that politically for israel. netanyahu pledged that he will do that but getting some aid

votes, i was happy to support him, he was a good man, good leader, would have been a great speaker and jim jordan failing to secure the speakership as well. i am frustrated my colleagues are not seeing the bigger picture that's less about an individual speaker but more about protecting our conference, congress as an institution, and the country in this dire time. we have american hostages and this is the game people are playing. i would have been happy with any of those speakers. stuart: it will be the democrats who elect the next speaker, that's a catastrophe for the gop in the house. >> absolutely. there is no movement to elect speaker jeffries but the reality is those right wing fringe individuals who voted with all the democrats to remove a speaker 97% of our

it fell into the wrong hands, antony blinken was asked in may of 2,020 one how they can guarantee that aid given to gaza would not help hamas. blinken said there is no guarantees. we will do what we can to ensure this assistance reaches the people who need it most. a group that's now accused of watchdog groups of helping hamas to store weapons. you have measures in place, given to the un is not going to the wrong place, the state department takes advantage of the oversight role. there are stringent policies in place to uphold neutrality and prevent programs from benefiting terrorists but republicans on capitol hill lashing out that more aid to gaza could beyond the table.

liberal education in america, is that what we are saying? >> that's one of the things we are seeing. it's a failure of school administrations with moral clarity that it deserves. in the ivy leagues they failed to condemn hamas as anti-semitic terrorist, that gives the green light to students who support hamas in some way. that tells you what is right or wrong. it is a terrible, terrible thing. stuart: it is terrible and we have a poll that shows 52% of students on us campuses blame the attacks on hamas. they blame the university leadership, who do you hold accountable for rampant anti-semitism.
