bartiromo wall street". maria: happy weekend all, welcome to the program that analyzes the week that was and positioned you for the week ahead. i am maria bartiromo, striking back against iran read the u.s. military hitting two munition facilities in eastern syria used by our brawn backed militants, the pentagon calling the airstrikes and precision self-defense in retaliation for 19 recent attacks against u.s. bases, those bases housing american troops in iraq and syria, the injured 21 u.s. personnel, defense secretary lloyd austin says the strikes were separate from the israeli war with hamas, the pentagon sending 900 additional u.s. troops to the region. president biden has come under scrutiny for the delayed response to the iranian backed attacks, critics also questioning why divided a administration allowed iran's foreign minister onto u.s. soil this week through the wall street journal reported that

10:03 am
and to release iran from the sanctions and to give iran billions of dollars in payments for hostages held, this a administration is complicit in what's happening in israel right now in the middle east with iranian and what's happening underground with iranian tiki and nuclear strike capability. this a administration is complicit up to the very core with their very own advisors right now being out on leave for security clearance and potential espionage concerns regarding iran. there incompetent at best and there complicit at worst. i don't know what else to say other than that, allowing this individual to come to america and not only lecture us but threaten us. it is unacceptable and unconscionable and it shows
10:04 am
weakness all around the globe to all of her adversaries, telegraphs weakness, showcases weakness and as you know weakness is provocative, it allows her adversaries to say let's see how far we can go, forget about them do this what can we get away with. maria: what about the appeasement that has been underway for the two half years that joe biden has been president, relaxing sanctions on iran, enabling to generate an billions of oil revenue. >> that's exactly right, it's continually speaking out of both sides of their mouth, talking tough to american citizens, talking tough on programs like yours and others. but then when it comes to being tough, allowing iran to have a free pass, allowing them to raise billions of dollars and use the billions of dollars to kill our allies and to target us and to lecture us about it. it is the new global order, it's
10:05 am
the new appeasement of pre-world war ii and it is very dangerousn the middle east right now, i feel like the biden administration would like to draw us into world war iii and help set that up. maria: now that you have a new speaker in place, that as result, the priority seems to be a to israel, i know as soon as mike johnson was named the house passed a resolution supporting israel and condemning hamas, tell me about the response to president biden's ask that you combine money to israel and ukraine. >> thank you maria, there are many democrats voted against that resolution, regarding president biden's request, pairing and coupling ukraine with israel is a nonstarter, let's also remember since 1949,
10:06 am
the united states has pledged to israel about $150 billion just in this package alone president biden wants to give ukraine 65 billion, that's in this package alone regarding israel the biggest thing that the united states can do is support their united states for iron dome and self-defense. most importantly and rhetorically we need to be in support of israel's efforts in gaza they essentially have given all they can, they have tried all they should have and more in they simply, it would be like living with a serial killer in your home, you simple he cannot do it so israel has to be supported and across the united states you can see the protest regarding the so-called palestinian people, so wanted so forth, they elected hamas and they elected the people that killed and massacred these 1300 israelis in jewish people, it is unacceptable. of course you will hear the rhetoric from the left of the
10:07 am
mainstream media that israel's response needs to be proportionate so to speak in they need to be reserved, none of these barbarians were reserved when they chop the heads off of little babies and innocent people and took people captive and raped their women killed their children, israel has every right to do what needs to be done, they need to do it with prejudice and extreme haste and we need to support them. maria: let me switch gears, china's aggressive against the united states, there is no response whatsoever. i want to ask you about this, we are wondering if joe biden is compromised after all the money the oversight committee has told us he has taken in. you sit on the house oversight committee, chuck grassley says he has obtained evidence that shows the fbi received criminal information for more than 40 confidential sources on the biden family and influence peddling potential bribery and did nothing about it, can you tell us about the 40
10:08 am
confidential sources? >> i can and we've been highlighting this for some time little by little but of course editor grassley has put these things altogether so they will be in a meaningful package where people can understand. understand joe biden is compromised by his family business which is influence peddling, peddling the policy of the united states of america to adversaries and allies alike for money for his family abroad in the bigger story right now were the biggest story, of course the fbi completely compromised as well broken, management has to go there, there has to be a complete shakeup in restructuring and the fbi. it's very obvious, instead of targeting our enemies in keeping america safe from a national security standpoint they were
10:09 am
busy covering for joe biden in his family's racketeering and influence peddling to make themselves rich. maria: what went on here, the critics of this investigation are saying, the republicans still do not have evidence to tie joe biden specifically to influence peddling and bribery, you've come up with 176 suspicious activity reports. 20 shell companies that were created while he was vice president and witness testimony from fbi whistleblowers that say he could've been bribed and accepting bribes. >> that is exactly right, you saw we just highlighted for the american people, $200,000 check given to him by his brother, you can follow the chain where the money went from account to account to account right to joe biden. it says loan audit in the media would like you to believe as
10:10 am
long as it says loan there is nothing wrong, they will only believe us if this is this is a bribe or this is for corruption from a foreign entity. that is only evidence that they will accept. of course the biden's don't write that on the memo of the check when they receive it. maria: i don't think we're going to find out on a check. thank you will keep a spotlight on and keep watching. thank you so much. >> thank you, god bless you. maria: scott. joining us. new inflation as investors wait a major federal reserve decision, kansas city president it's easy to get lost in investment research. introducing j.p. morgan personal advisors. hey david. connect with an advisor to create your personalized plan. let's find the right investments for your goals okay, great. j.p. morgan wealth management. third quarter grow at its best pace in nearly two years, up 4.9%, well above expectations and the federal reserve key gauge showing inflation is slowing core pce inflation grew 3.7%, that is the slowest annualized rate in more than two years but what about the fed's target of 2%, joining me now to talk more about that former kansas city federal reserve bank president thomas hoenig. it's great to see you this weekend, thank you for being here. can you assess where we stand on the economy today looking at where inflation is young growth is ahead of the job numbers coming out in the weekend? >> i would tell you the gdp numbers were very pleasing to most people .29% is a great number considering the concision sweeping through the consumer was a big part of that everyone knows that. i think this reflects the strong government program over the past
10:15 am
couple of three years, particularly the enter structure bill, the chips bill, reduce inflation bill that was a huge subsidy, that stimulated the economy. i also think in this environment, the fed is figuring out what they want to do next and they very much want the soft landing and that's why i think less inflation increase, the pce that came out was well above 2%, very little unchanged from the last august report. they are going to be cautious and wait-and-see and i don't think will see an increase coming up in the next week. they have another tool that's quantitative tightening that they're leaving in place and quantitative tightening where the government is putting more debt into the market should be raising interest rates as they have so far and they will let that continue for now.
10:16 am
as you look at this the economy remains strong but it should be slowing but i think the job number will be stronger given the last report and then take off after that. if i could just say i think 2 - 3 things that have to happen before the fed lowers rates, we get inflation down to 2% and we have the magic soft landing, i don't think the odds are high on that. second or third, we have a recession in the fed will ease or a banking crisis or and a banking crisis and the fed will use greatly. in the meantime it'll move very slowly, i don't think we'll see rates increase much more than they already have in less inflation spikes then they will have to deal with that. other than that the hope for the soft landing, that choice either policies rolling to the economy.
10:17 am
maria: what are we watching mostly the consumer and the strength of the consumer keeping things elevated, i think a lot of people we were expecting the slowdown to be quite transparent by now. >> i think the consumer has been the surprise for them, the consumer spending did very strong and willing to go into debt given the current situation in the past experience with the pandemic and the fact that the government tends to come in more now and bail out the economy so they have that on their mind and consumers are learning that as well as banks and those are factors to keep the consumer and place and as a matter of the past tightening they won't have the effects that are intended and they should have and the effects of quantitative tightening which given the amount of debt being issued by the government which means you have to pull that out of the private sector means interest rates rise and that further slows economy. those are the things that we have to watch for in the fed i know is watching at this time. maria: we will be watching as well, always a pleasure, thank you very much for being with me
