larry: you know, steve forbes, exactly right. we need the moral clarity, absolute moral clarity to combat the evils of anti-semitism and the terror of hamas. finish and if joe biden won't supply that moral clarity, why then we will replace him. all right? that's the way it's gonna work. but nobody can possibly replace david asman. [laughter] david: ah, there you go.
5:01 pm
you nail it every time, larry kudlow. great to see you, my friend, thank you very much is. just moments ago, more hostages are released by hamas with word of a possible second american who could be among them as activists are developing an entire blacklist web site of all the companies that are supporting israel, like that's some kind of crime. meanwhile, the mom of the young kansas city chiefs fan who was unjustly accused of racism revealing her son's actually a native american. plus, the u.n. wants americans to cut back on meat con assumption -- consumption to fight climate change, taking your money and telling you what to eat. i'm david asman in for elizabeth macdonald. "the evening edit" starts right now. well, a sixth group of hostages were freed today. the idf if saying 16 hostages were released to israeli custody including, allegedly, a second american-israeli dual citizen. just last night though it seemed

president biden was we'ring in his support -- wavering in his support, quote, to continue down the path of terror, violence, killing and war is to give hamas if what they seek. we can't do that. with me now to discuss from senate homeland security committee, senator ron johnson. senator, good to see you. thank you for being here. so this posting by the president last night seemed to contradict the israelis' intention to wipe out hamas by copping the war. what -- continuing the war. what did you make of that? >> just the start, to continue down the path of terror, did he say? the terrorists are hamas. the brutal slaughter was hamas against innocent israeli citizens. i try and remind people 1400 israelis as a percentage of the population would be like almost 50,000 americans. you can imagine what the american public would with demand of our government if 50,000 the americans were brutally slaughtered the way those israelis were. so we have to support israel. this president should be
5:03 pm
supporting israel in their ability to defend themselves. and the only way they can do that long term is destroy hamas. let's face it, they had a multiyear ceasefire when israel turned gaza over to the palestinians. they elected hamas, they built the tunnels, they carried out the terrorist attack. we need to understand that reality. david: senator, i don't understand though the -- it's a dramatic change from what we was saying just a month ago -- he was saying just a month ago shortly after the terror attack of october 7th. he said we have to be crystal clear, there is no justification for terrorism. my commitment to israel's security and the safety of jewish people is unshake bl. the united states has israel's back. well, it doesn't look like he has their back anymore. >> well, that was until the radical left started putting more and more pressure on president biden who's also part of the radical left. i mean, it is sick that you have dozens of universities where you have students that are protesting in support of hamas,
5:04 pm
of those brutal murder ors -- murderers. this shows you what has happened to the university system, the radical left took over them in the mid '60s, and they've been indoctrinating our children ever since. this is the result. david: here's what senator tuberville said last night on fox business about not just the president, but the entire democratic party and their, again, seeming shift to the very far left. roll tape. >> the democrats are trying to ride the fence, trying to pray both sides. they care nothing about the american people or the people of israel or the people of palestine. they care about votes, they care about power. don't do anything to get in their way to take away votes from 'em. and you're exactly right, what happened to the american hostages? does joe biden ever mention that? anybody? kirby? it's embarrassing. david: you know, you did have senator schumer stand up against anti-semitism this morning, but it sounds, sounds like he's more and more being isolated by the far left of his party. >> well, first of all, senator
5:05 pm
tuberville is exactly right. this is all about power. this is about getting votes. and they're going to continue to cater, you know, using identity politics. and they are the radical left. democrat party is the radical left. this is not the party of our parents and grandparents. these are radical leftists. they are bent on power, they are bent on imposing socialism which just destroys, it doesn't build anything. and, unfortunately, our news media, the mainstream media is supportive of this movement, and far too many americans listen to that siren song. david: yeah. you know, there's also a problem with what we used to call the deep state, the bureaucracy of the united states. some of the most sensitive bure rock bureaucracies that we have dc -- a senior cia official posting pro, not necessarily pro-hamas, but putting the palestinian flag on his web site and suggesting that palestine has to be liberated. then you also have this veterans eye pair -- affairs official who
5:06 pm
was actually mocking the relatives of israelis who were held hostage. i don't want even want to show that sound bite because it's just disgusting, but she's a senior official at veterans affairs. so what's happening? we have hired all of these far-left radicals to be the basis of our bureaucracy. >> the radical left has infiltrated every institution of this country starting with the university system and just spread out from that point in time. we have a deep state. it's primarily populate with leftists -- populated with leftists that have corrupted these organizations, that did everything they could to take out president trump, you know? in the end, two impeachments, now they're indicting him. this is what we have. we have a incredibly biased media, we have incredibly biased governmental officials and departments and agencies. this is a threat to our democracy. david: yeah. and, you know, neither if one of us have a problem with free speech. west virginia been change about the government -- we've been
5:07 pm
complaining about the government's attempts to silence free speech in the past, but the tenor of some of these big protests, the police are expecting about 6,000 protesters tonight at rock feller center for the tree-lighting ceremony if -- rockefeller, but the tenor suggesting israel be wiped out as a nation and some of the rhetoric coming from the various city councils around the country against any kind of reference to pro-israel support in what their legislatures are coming out with. there was an oakland city council that was protesting, some of the protesters were against one of their suggestions, their statements about being pro-israel. here's what one of those protesters said at that city council meeting. roll tape. >> the notion that this was a massacre of jew -- jews is a fabricated narrative -- >> your time is up. >> many of those were killed by the idf. >> so, senator, that is the
5:08 pm
narrative now, that the idf -- the october 7. th massacre wasn't done by hamas, it was done by israelis killing israelslys what -- how -- what do you make of this kind of rhetoric? >> again, there is no moral equivalence. the terrorists are hamas. and israel is the innocent bystanderrer here, and they have every right to defend themselves and that's what we need to support. david: it's just horrific what we're hearing, pure anti-semitism. senate johnson, thank you for standing up. we appreciate you being here, sir. >> have a good night. david: you too. well, president biden just leaving colorado today after touting bidenomics and his green agenda, but only 32% of u.s. cults approve of the way the president -- adults approve of the way the president is handling the economy. with me now is bill mcgurn and ford o'connell. thank you for being here. bill, this meeting that the

president was at, he was touting a green energy program for windmills, it's in pueblo, colorado, which is probably the most middle class of all of those sheshe places that you have in the colorado hills. the gazette, the colorado newspaper, came out with a suggestion of what the president could have picked a better location. i'm going to read it. it's a pretty long quote. it says if biden cares about pueblo and other working class colorado communities, he'll pay attention to ordinary residents and how bidenomics feels for them and working class americans throughout the country. because of climate change policies, federal data shows a reduction of 12,200 jobs directly employed by oil and gas sector in colorado. same biden policies that wipe out jobs in places typically flown over and up seen by washington elites -- unseen by washington elites, drive prick policy providers to convert from
5:10 pm
fossil fuels to solar and wind. it costs miners and roughnecks their jobs by numbers that dwarf the wind work force p drives up utility costs that exacerbate poverty. bottom line is they don't give two cents about this flyover country that they're now visiting. >> no. they define the problem differently. the editorial is exactly right. and joe biden persists in using the word bidenomics, you know? if i were polling that low in the economy, my handling of the economy, why would i do that? they do it partly because they think the american people are not bright enough to prove, to understand how brilliant joe has been and how good for them he has been. they think they're not appreciative enough of the president's economic accomplishments. i'll tell you for me, i'm on my

essentials, prices are up 18%, but when you look at electricity, rent, food, it's all over 20%. and rather than change policies, biden's going to continue to do the same and somehow blame corporations or try to blame donald trump, and invest -- it's not going to work. david: and we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of the border. just nothing seems to be working with this administration. i'm sorry we had to cut it short, guys, got a lot of news here. ford and bill, thank you very much. >> thank you. >> thank you, david. david: still ahead, congresswoman claudia tenney, leo terrell and energy if expert neil chatterjee, and we have the house majority whip, tom emmer, on hunter biden offering to publicly testify at his father's impeachment inquiry, and the white house isn't having it. that's next on "the evening edit." >> you know, this is a tactic that mix it look like he is being transparent -- makes it look like he is being transparent or, but it's quite the opposite. it hides everything from the american people instead of getting the whole thing out in

tell the whole story. 43% of democrats agree that mayorkas should be impeached. what i don't understand is why 8 or 9 republicans in congress disagree with that and didn't go ahead with impeachment the last time it was up. >> well, i think to speak to that directly, i don't think those 8 people were against impeaching mayorkas, i think a lot of them, including congressman darrell issa who led the oversight committee for years, he wanted to get to more conclusive ed where we could actually put up an impeachment that could sustain a senate approval on it and get a senate trial, so i think that's part of the reason are. it was more procedural. but i still voted for it because i feel like we need to continue to put pressure on the democrats and on chuck schumer to understand that this is ap issue that needs to be addressed. he's a disaster. we hope that president biden would put somebody else in place that wouldn't be as bad as mayorkas who is just arrogant and snubbing and completely disregarding the real concerns

of the american people and the threat that is posed by the invasion at the southern border. and that's why so many people have started to realize this is really dangerous that over 7 million people have come across the border. you and i have pointed out what's happening at the northern border where my district is in upstate new york and how dangerous and costly this is. $450 billion and counting, and we're seeing mayor adams looking to cut the police department again. this is coming off the heels of what former mayor de blasio defunded and demoralized the police, now we're going to cut the police, the very people we need to keep our communities safe is, cutting education and all kinds of things in new york that we desperately need, by the way, all to give our taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants who violate our laws and to give them the opportunity to vote too. that's a whole other issue. it's a disaster. david: i'm glad it's being reformed. we have a sound bite of marjorie taylor greene, she's the one who filed the second call for impeachment, and maybe there's

some democrats in the senate who may go ahead with it. even "the washington post," by the way, is now suggesting that republicans have it right on this. they say republicans have one thing right about the border, the biden administration's strategy to keep asylum seekers from flocking to the united states is not working. now, the question is why they have that policy because it's not succeeding. they may have thought that it would help them with latino voters, but latinos don't like it either. 57% of hispanic voters say the biden administration's got it wrong. >> well, of course. and what's happening at the border is, look, people -- i think a lot of what joe biden in his very first day in office he did an executive order, didn't go to the congress, rolling back everything that president trump had done to keep our border safe. remain in mexico, rolling back -- they sued to have title 42 removed, which is a public health statute. all the things that were in place that were helping us control the problem at the border, eliminate this mass invasion, the risks to americans.

not just the cost. and they rolled it back simply because it was anti-trump and they wanted to make a statement. now they're starting to realize these policies did work and a maybe we should reinstate them. you're seeing the democrats start to realize it's not just republicans, it is democrats and especially new immigrants who really appreciate the importance of legal immigration. david: that's right. like my if family is one in particular. and, by the way, that number, 57 disapproval of biden from hispanics, that comes from key battleground statements. so the president's got to change something if he wants to one those battleground states. without them, he won't win re-election. woman with, great to see you. thank you very much for being here. great to see you. >> thank you. david: jewish students and parents are seriously reconsidering saying no to elite universities because of the explosion of anti-israel protests on college campuses. >> it's unfortunate that college campuses don't understand what, obviously, 412 members of congress do, that this is the jewish people's homeland, and it
