ashley: lunchtime and crunch time on wall street for stocks, interest rates edging down, so are stocks. investors seeing little solvency in 10 year down to 4.35% and lower oil prices would be enough to stop this. at least first, to get some answers. we went to go to charlie gasparino with the markets. it came out. we would talk. people don't understand. are you comparing me? charles: markets have been on a tear, week news on jobs the.

those stocks, the part of it, that markets are broken if there is not. go to your broker, you can buy seamlessly and cheaply. charles: why did he trade by the way? charles: they haven't made the decision yet. the problem, the aspect of the markets that don't rely on information but weird stuff, personality and momentum. the information is filtered through very unregulated. it is weird venues. charles: it is interesting. neil: the roaring kitty. charles: my mother answered the phone. neil: i want your thoughts on that whole phenomenon.
12:04 pm
a very different position. this narrative. charles: first, leaning forward in a chair, people take that as a reason to buy game stop which isn't doing well, the metrics -- charles: he said -- the latest position -- charles: the metrics of game stop haven't changed when it comes down to it. she comes out and says i have a huge bet and people piled into the stock. charles: the hedge funds -- charles: he was right for a minute. but ask your self, is that the way you should be investing? i would tell you if you want to gamble be prepared to lose your money.

game stop, but for this nonsense happen started to reflect its fundamentals down 30%. amc another one. that is down. 99% from stock, amc is interested because when you look at the price of amc, that is $0.25 because they did a reverse split. think about if you go apples to apples, amc was trading as high as $72, now it trades at $0.45, if you do apples to apples, $720. charles: 20 i would get the big picture but the big picture for you, is this the stuff that happens in markets, par for the course, not a big deal?
12:06 pm
charles: it happens with performers of the market and the invested public. the regular for average people your market is not broken. tough moves based on information, elon musk says something but generally speaking that is normal, this stuff is insane. a meme is causing it to go up. got to ask your software is the sec? my guess the sec will look at it, doesn't mean they did anything wrong. this thing gets interesting if it is not good. not -- lots of speculation about social media, someone else is playing around. neil: can't informed that. charles: he can say whatever he wants.
12:07 pm
neil: doesn't make a big deal, companies and hedge funds that go after a guy like this presumably to go the other way if that isn't the case. what do you mean? charles: it does go after hedge funds. neil: that isn't the focus, one guy doing something that goes contrary. charles: what they are trying today, the conspiracy theories that believes in a meme that pushes up a stock is unscrupulous hedge funds doing stuff, screwing up the plumbing of the markets, totally disproven. they investigated it. didn't take amc down one%. you know what took it down? the box office, movies, too much debt, diluting shareholders time and time again, that took amc down.

12:09 pm
something you see in markets, i don't think that is fair but your thoughts on this latest? >> charlie looks great without the tie. my thoughts, this is different this time. this is isolated. this theory has some validity. if you think of the number of dollars invested in this, does he have that money to do that? he's not showing his face, no crusade to get anyone. seems like a money grab, i think that this is very different from the last time. we need a little more into it. amc is coming back down, but this is not a crusade against the man or wall street. this is someone who wants to see game stop go up for their own benefit.
