destructive. and for alejandro mayorkas to now poor mouth the american people, that's a slap in the face. but to add insult to injury, for the last four years fema has been taking money out of an emergency housing fund and giving it to the el illegals for plane tickets, bus tickets and hotel rooms. this has been going on for four years. and new people are really starting to understand why that was so dangerous, because we have americans in need, and you can't find anyone if on the ground who is getting the assistance they need. so we have a real problem. there is mismanagement at the fema level, at the do dhs level. we have a lot of work to do. elizabeth: i mean, people are likely dying right now. i mean, fema's saying no fema money is being diverted from, you know, disaster relief money. they're saying the spending on illegal aliens comes from a separate bucket. okay, that's beside the point. the biden-harris white house is basically saying we can do whatever we want with fema money, turning it into an

illegal alien services agency. >> that's fundamentally false. i myself have yesterday both the administrator and alejandro mayorkas, and just three months ago mayorkas said they were well positioned if prepared for hurricane season. now they're broke. let us go back a few years when we asked for receipts of the spending of the $130 million plus four years ago and subsequent years, you know what they gave us? list of nonprofits and n negotiations. those ngos are block granted these funds, and then they give them out. they're the ones, like catholic charities and others, that purchase the plane tickets and bus tickets -- elizabeth: for illegal aliens. >> -- for illegals. that's' why you have fema saying, oh, we're hands off, no, no, it's because they're using the catholic charities and others to do the duringty work for them. -- dirty work. elizabeth: biden says helene victims are happy, they're getting what they need, and fema's provide -- providing this

$750 checks. they're saying it's covering 100% of the local costs for food, water and shelter, but it's been more than a week, and a lot of the hurricane victims are saying we are abandoned, we haven't seen anybody. >> yeah. i actually just about less than an hour ago got off the phone with the deputy secretary from faa i they had a total flight restriction over asheville and chimney rock -- elizabeth: why? i'm sorry to interrupt. >> they were saying because of the president's is visit, but this was in place after of the flyover from the president. i had constituents that were donating their own, their time, their aircraft, their own supply, they were going in, doing search and rescue and dropping off critical supplies that were told that they would lose their pilot's license. so we have already stepped in, and we have demanded a list for any adverse action that has been referred to the f ark a for any pilots that have been told they're going to the lose their pilot's license if they go in and deliver aid or rescue

has been left out of the national conversation and there's still so many questions that still need to be answered. so as for how this will impact, i mean, elon musk was never really a political person. he admitted that that he had voted for democracy9 -- democrats over the years, but he said they've gone too far, which is why he's supporting donald trump. and i think it will sway some voters or at least pique some people's interest to look into why elon supports him. elizabeth: what do you think of all this, e.j.? >>, look, i think at the end of the day what the american people care most about is their ab ability to put not food on their able -- table, to be able to provide for themselves and their children. that has been severely hampered under the economic policies of this administration. and when you have a candidate promising more of the same, i don't think that bodes very well for election chances. and so when you have this message if from two billionaires, you may think that

the the race is going to be very difficult for kamala harris. she doesn't have this in the bag, and it's the very obvious. and it's cheer that her opportunity economy isn't resonating with the middle class and blue collar workers which is why she's losing some of these crucial endorsements from the unions. elizabeth: that's right. the firefighters' union, no to kamala harris and tim walz. i mean, kim walz basically let minneapolis burned to the ground, delayed calling in the national guard. don't see how fire fighters could support that. you know, but, e.j., stephanie made an important point about kamala trying to win on vibes, on joy, on an opportunity economy. yes, the september jobs report came in strong at 25 the 254,00. the economy lost all the jobs created in the pandemic. that's a middle of the road where the other presidents have performed. revisions to july and august combined is 7 22,000 more jobs. been 7 2,000. but biden created only 137,000

manufacturing jobs after the pandemic job losses were clawed back. that's according to our edward lawrence with the analysis. they're actually losing 9300 manufacturing jobs a month this year. >> exactly, liz. and if we go back to the beginning of 2023, once you include the annual benchmark rehave vision which is already in but it won't appear in the data until january of 2025, but if you include that right now, you see that we're off a more than 130,000 manufacturing jobs. again, since the beginning of 202423. -- 2023. so things are not all well in the labor market. frankly, liz, that's particularly true when we looked at metrics like the unemployment rate. although it dropped to 4.1% last month, the only reason it did the that instead of rising to 4.5% was because you had government employment increasing by a record 785,000 many a single month. in a single month. so if you take away all those
