that still up. thanks very much, now this. kamala harris is signaled exactly what her message will be in the final days of the campaign. pile on trump, call him names, make the election about trump and how dangerous he is, not how good a harris presidency will be, she wants to make about the evil donald trump. at the cnn town hall she went out of her way from the start to call him a fascist was asked if he met the definition of a fascist she said oh yes, yes i do, yes i do. asked about the plight of palestinians in gaza she turned around and said trump is a fascist. that's the way it went all night, short direct questions from the audience dismissed with long rambling answers that always came back to blaming trump. which expand the supreme court, should americans pay for benefits for migrants, codify roe versus wade, no answer except how trump would be worse. truth is that's all she's got
10:03 am
and it's not enough. a presidential candidate at this stage has articulate what he or she would do as president. kamala harris is not telling us and there's only 12 days left. voters are not buying her attacks on trump, wall street journal poll out today shows 52% approve of trump's performance during his first term, a high in this election cycle despite the demonizing his approval level is going up. 54% disapprove of harris's performance as vice president come she attacks trump, her own reputation goes down and here is why. as harris turns negative trump goes positive. is that one america wants? not fear of the future but a sense that your life may improve. second hour of varney just getting started.

now listen to what harry said about trump gaining ground among independents in swing states. >> what's going on in the ski bad around straits, michigan, wisconsin, the great lakes, that blue wall, joe biden last time won by 5 points over donald trump, look where we are today. when you flip a group from going plus 5 biden to plus one trump that is a type of movement donald trump loves to see in the type of movement that gives democrats some agitation. >> here's sean duffy joining us this morning. i read desperation into that, we are getting down to the wire and harris to me does not have a positive message and it is hurting her. what say you? >> if the voters know you but don't know your opponent negative attacks can and do work. the problem with kamala harris doing this is no one knows her policies can what you will do
10:05 am
on any of the issues, the cnn town hall we learned nothing about her. and every single american knows donald trump, they spent four years with him. he's the most famous person in the world. the negative attack doesn't land. you brought up the point of cnn's video of donald trump starting to win over those independent voters, this is big, not only does donald trump have young men, he has black men, hispanics, now you're getting independents. every group you can win donald trump seems to be winning and doing better with so we don't know what is going to happen this election but we are seeing the momentum shift, it feels like if you are donald trump's team, pretty good view. >> let's talk georgia, the state continues to smash early voting records. this morning to million people had already cast their ballots in that state. i'm told that that movement early voting in georgia favors republicans. is that right?
10:06 am
>> i'm hearing the same thing. i hate early voting. we should vote on the same day, had a national holiday, this is bogus but donald trump spent the last three years saying republicans need to get out and early vote, they listen to him about that and they are getting out of voting, the three highest turnout in the counties in georgia with highest percentages, i think republicans, we don't know the numbers, republicans have to feel really good that the republican voter, the trump voter is responding to the message, we are going to bank early, that's important because on election day the campaign doesn't have to chase your vote. they can spend the money chasing more difficult voters, those voters, you have already voted so big deal on how you execute your campaign strategy on election day. >> thanks for joining us.

the harris endorsements which you are just seeing, new york times, boston globe. one important endorsement harris did not get, and endorsement from the los angeles times, the newspaper endorsed barack obama in 2016, biden in 2,020 but decided not to endorse a candidate this year. as a result, the la times editorial chief resigned yesterday telling the columbia journalism review i'm not okay with us being silent in a dangerous time, honest people need to stand up. guards a said the editorial board planned to endorse harris but the owner says he did not want to publish and endorsement because he asked the board to present arguments for both sides and they didn't and as a result he didn't feel it was fair to put out an endorsement without the research, no endorsement from the la times this year. >> how about that. back to the markets please. let's see what's going on. . dow is down 84, nasdaq up 103

10:34 am
winning in comparison to 2020 would donald trump will do better with the black vote than he did in 2020, better with the hispanic vote than he did in 2020. he will do better with a low income vote than he did in 2020. i want to preface with that. what i mean by him doing poorly with these three groups is traditionally, the republican party of the past were wider, higher income earners and predominantly suburban women. and what we've seen now is the more income you have as a household the less likely you are to vote for trump. when we are having a severe issue with women who are falling off from trump. it is interesting to see that. when we go through, if he only wins women by 4%, only wins the white vote by 5%, that could offset the gains he has made in those other two so this talks about what has changed between the two parties, this populist movement, trump is going to
10:35 am
split the union vote which is a record for recent republicans. it's an interesting shift. stuart: if he can't move up with women, wealthy and white, can he win? >> he can. it is just about how to correct the downward turn. you can win by less with those groups if you are over performing in other areas but you have to stop the bleeding at some point. you can't completely turn off the suburban white woman vote. stuart: pollster nate silver says his gut tells him trump will win the election. you are gop pollster. i presume that your gut tells you trump will win. on my right? >> let's talk about gut instinct. polling isn't a science. it's an art as well. what i mean by that is for you to accurately predict things, you have to use a little bit of got because turnout universes mean a lot when you're polling so if you think there's a low
10:36 am
turnout or high turnout in a certain counties that could really change the numbers and when you are saying i think the female turnout will be higher or the hispanic vote will be higher in this area that is where you are putting your gut in. when pollsters are saying they are using their gut it's about those things. for me -- stuart: what do you base your gut instinct on? that more hispanics will turn out or not, what is that based on? >> that's based on data. i will talk from a data perspective and what the data specifically means and could lead to is where i put my gut in. if i make predictions like i did last time of trump winning it is because i see the trend line in data and use my got to tell me this is where it is going. stuart: is the trend in trump's favor? >> yes, the trend line is great, i'm no longer worried anywhere in the south, north carolina, georgia, arizona, nevada good to go. interesting to talk about the rust belt. if you look at 16, trump won all three of the state, biden
10:37 am
won all three of the swing states being michigan, pennsylvania and wisconsin. what i see here is neither candidate would win all three of those and that means trump taking one, he has the election won. i still believe that wisconsin and pennsylvania are the most likely to fall for trump but if turnout is maximized and we see a repeat it with the all three for trump and 0 for kamala. stuart: 12 days until the election. got to have you back on the show at least three times in the next 12 days because you know what you are talking about, thanks for joining us. always a pleasure, see you again soon. still had. kamala harris leaned into her faith in the final stretch of the campaign. >> i do pray every day. sometimes twice a day. stuart: jonathan morris deals with the christian vote coming up. tesla had a great earnings report so why is garrett nelson lowering his price target. garrett is next.
