the respect new york times-sienna poll released today holds bad news for kamala harris. a dead heat, 48-48, but that means the lead harris held just a couple of weeks ago has disappeared. the number also conceals a big trump advantage in the electoral college. on the campaign trail today, harris goes to texas. the border won't get much attention. her speech will be about abortion. beyonce and willie nelson will entertain the crowd. her campaign comes down to star power, demonizing trump and, yes, abortion. donald trump will also be in texas. he's going to sit down with joe rogan. he has an audience of 15 million, probably much more with trump. on sunday he rallies at new york city's madison square garden. the place sold out in three hours. hillary clinton says trump will reenact the guard requesten rally back in 1939 -- rally back in 1939. it was a nazi rally. there's a natural progression here. harris has demonized trump

calling him a fascist. now he's hitler. to the markets, three days of losses for the dow and the s&p, but there's some buying this morning, modest at the moment. dow up 120, nasdaq up 113. little change for treasury yields. the 0-year is just -- 10-yeah is just below 4.2, and the 2-years at 4.0 to5. bitcoin hovering around $66,000. if no, it's gone up, $68,000 and change. and gold, that's $27 the 43, down just $5 this morning. oil -- 71 a barrel with. not much change. gas inching down again, the average is now $if 3.14 for regular, $3.58 for diesel. on the she today, lina khan strikes again. she heads the ftc and opposes almost all mergers. and the merger between capris and tapestry has been blocked. why? because if they got together, it would apparently kill competition in the handbag industry.

issues. todd piro with me this morning. i say harris is basing her campaign on demonizing trump and using star power, it's not helping that much in the polls. what say you? >> i think what you just said along with those numbers, they go in concert because if she were winning on the issues, she wouldn't need to to rely on those things that you just mentioned. that's all she has, stu. that's the only chance she has at winning because when you break out these numbers, the american people trust trump on the issues. and it's been that that way for a while. they. don't even trust kamala on really the ability to lead period, and that's why you've seen this coming to the mean, they're all coming to this tied number with the new york times. think about that for a moment. this is "the new york times." this isn't, you know, rasmussen. this isn't, you know, trafalgar. this is "the new york times." that bodes poorly for kamala. stuart: but the times poll was out today, that means that harris has lost the lead which

i still don't have a reason why she's going to texas. i can't give you an answer. i understand she wants colin allred to win the senate seat there, but at some point you've got to put on your own mask before you put on the max of the person sitting next to to you. this makes no sense other than she wants a beyonce concert because she thinks it's going to the help her in the ore states. it underscores the fact you are in, the, the border is the one or two issue on everybody's mind, and you're ignoring it? bad move. i don't get it. prove me wrong in 11 days, kamala, i don't think you will. stuart: todd, thank you very much. madison, take us through real clear politics' battleground match-ups. in which states is he ahead? >> he's ahead in every single battleground state. we'd like to think that all the states matter, but the reality is we know those battleground states are going to be the all too important come election day. let's take a looked at the real clear politics battleground match-up between harris and

trump. he's up in every single state, in some cases by very small numbers though, so keep that in mind. the biggest spread does seem to be in georgia where rpc -- rcp has him up by 2.2 points. the tightest states are wisconsin and michigan. trump started to pull ahead on this poll on september 7th, and and he's maintained that gap between him and harris -- 27th. if the swing states go his way on election day, real clear politics say trump will be president. stuart: thank you very much, madison. this is friday morning heading into the weekend, we're up across the board. the dow up 100, nice gain for the nasdaq, 114. kenny polcari with me here in new york city this weekend -- no. justed today -- >> i am here for the weekend, actually. stuart: we've seen a rally recently.

[laughter] that wasn't a pejorative. standing up there as the richest man in the world instead of putting your money in to help people and end homelessness or hunger and all that, you're looking for a damn tax cut for yourself. that's what you're looking for. stuart: forgive the language there, but he did say it. how many voters do you think musk will bring to the trump campaign? >> quite a few actually. look, they say courage is contagious. i think it's unfortunate that it might take courage in america in 2024 to support a political candidate, but elon musk talked about how difficult it was to come out and say he's a trump support. there are fundamental american values we all used to share, right? freedom of religion, freedom of speech, so many different thicks that, unfortunately, i don't think the democrats stand for anymore. pride in our country. wanting immigrants to come here, but to come here the right way. basic fundamental values, that's the reason elon musk has come to

our side, and that's the reason donald trump has to coalition around him that he has, of former democrat, by the way. stuart: helps him financially too, $he's got $270 billion as of this morning. elizabeth, thank you for being with us. a french national is betting millions of dollars on trump's win. madison, how much has he bet? >> a lot of money, over $28 million. again, $28 million ifment on trump to win the election using four separate poly-market accounts. we have seen a surge for trump in the poly-market. i checked this morning before the show, he's favored at 64.3% the harris at 35.7. so this runup could be really seeing it shoot up in the past couple of days. it did draw some concern. it does seem part of it is the thanks to this one trader with his four account. so these four accounts all a belong to a french national who, according to the company, has, quote, extensive trading experience in a financial

services background. his can accounts were funded from a well known centralized crypto exchange, is he's got a lot of crypto money. the company is insisting there's no evidence this trader is trying to juice trump's odds, but trump's odds on the poly-market are much better than national polling. and the national polling shows he's neck and neck within the margin of error. but the poly-market has him way, way up. but the reality is this guy has put in over $20 million. he obviously thinks trump is going to win, and he, you know, will farewell if he does. stuart: has it affected the -- >> i actually, i actually do trust the betting markets. i think it's very interesting that there's that much of a gap between the betting markets and what the polls are saying, right? it's significant. so eiffel going to be very surprised -- i'm going to be very surprise surprised in suddenly whenever they get the results that they announce her as the tin we are -- the winner, i think it'll be interesting. stuart: let's hope we get a result. >> let's hope.

stuart: looks hike the market guess up at the opening bell. some green across the screen. mark mahaney joining us. you are maintaining a $200 price target on google even though the department of justice is suing them and maybe trying to break them up. why do you maintain 200? >> well,, valuation here, stu, is highly attractive. i mean, this asset is trading at 17, 18 times earning, so essentially a market average for what i think is one of the kind of most ebb during tech assets -- enduring tech assets out there. i think we're all going to be googling ten years from now, and they've got google cloud, you talking about. i think the core thesis is very much intact. you've just got these wildcards out there, one of which is this doj suit. and, you know, they have been found liable for monopoly abuses, so the question is what's the remedies, how long is it going to take. that's probably one, two, even three years, stu.

it's going to take a long time to play out. what i most worry strategically is if google is barred and enjoyed from doing these deals, what replaces that? if it's microsoft or apple vertically integrating into search, i the that's a real competitive issue for google -- i think that's a real competitive issue. i think it's an a.i. winner, so i'm less concerned about the a.i. competition, but this doj just kind of caps the stock in a way. 200 gives you some upside. there are other stocks i prefer in the group. stuart: amazon reports next week. do you still prefer shopify to amazon? >> no, no, amazon would be the temperature of my shopping list -- top of my shopping list. amazon's going to report on halloween too, that's never a good thing. i don't like that. we've all got trick or treating to do. but their cloud business should show acceleration, we should see expanding margins. the wildcard here is this, are these rocket costs that are going to start showing up.

[laughter] stuart: that's good. >> year to date through yesterday, the company added $2.2 trillion in market value. the entire s&p 500 added $9 trillion. that means nvidia year to date is responsible for more than 5% of the entire market's 22% gain. that's why everyone has to the own that stock. stuart: does everyone have to own --,. >> i think absolutely, nvidia's the foundational name. i think it should be part of everyone's portfolio. tour tooth i've got cold feet getting into something that's gone up so much. >> okay, but the last time you and i had this conversation, nvidia was trading at $100, and i said you dip your toes, and look what it is now. [laughter] stuart: apple, new iphone sales, 16, i think, down ever so slightly in china. the stock is not reacting to it, but what's the problem with the iphone in china? >> down three-tenths of 1% in terms of sale, but the market

share with what a way is very -- huawei is very close. number three market share, 15.3%, and huawei sales in china jumped 42% in the third quarter. so you're starting to see, again, it's all about market share, number two, number three, apple and huawei competing. stuart: okay. do you still think we should all have a piece of apple? >> 100%. it's apple. it's changed the world. stuart: okay. then we have capare ri holdings -- capri holdings. absolutely tanking this morn, down 45%. i think i know what's going on. you tell us. >> so a district court ruled yesterday they cannot go through with the $8.5 billion merger with capri, yes, which owns coach, tapestry. thank you, kenny. so, again, this is a district judge who said that the anti-competitive market is not good, that they a want the keep these companies apart. both of these companies have responded and said there is no

more competitive market than sort of accessible luxury -- stuart: you know what this is about? it's about handbags. >> i know. stuart: lina khan at the ftc says, oh, these two get together, and you won't have competition in the handbag industry. >> $5,000 handbags, by the way. stuart: you've got to look out for the little guy, kenny, don't you know that? >> i hear ya. stuart: i've got to move on. skechers surging, record sale, right? >> yes. okay, so skechers, this is a fascinating story. they are highlighting this positive slip-on shoe, how comfortable shoes are. that message is gaining traction. if i will say there are some people on this set who are in their 60s, it is very nice to slip on your shoe and not have to bend over. when i was nine months pregnant, it's very nice to to be able to slip on your shoe. regardless of what you think, it's a message that is working and gaining traction. stuart: two points.

they're much ease questioner to get through the tsa lean at the airport, slip them on and off. number two, this kind of company with these shoes is taking market share from nike, and nike is way down. there you go. next one is deckers. what have you got? >> okay. so duckers -- the decker is the a good one. they make uggs and hokas. personally maybe not a fan. a lot of people i know, a lot of marathoners wear hokas. people love it. the shares are up 36 year to date, searching almost 10% in the market. hoka sales up 35%, ugg sales up 13% from last year so, again, it's gaining traction. stuart: would you buy that stock, deckers? >> i would not. but i'm the 60-year-old on the set that likes the skechers -- [laughter] >> i wasn't going to name names. stuart: i'm the 70-year-old -- [laughter] that really needs slip-on shoes. all right, let's go on. new york community bank plunging. they hosted another loss, i think. >> they did. a fourth quarter of losses.

commercial real estate exposure, right? you're looking at $280 million of losses on the bottom line in the third quarter, and the provision for some of those credit losses, again, to help with the consumer also went up to about $242 million, exceeding expectations of about $180 million. i do think though, remember, they acquired flag star bank, so on monday they start trading under flg, under the ticker flag star. stuart: okay. is it sending shivers through the banking community, that's the question. when a bank makes a serious los- >> he might know this better than i would. i think at lot of the concerns about the region alp community bank fears are behind us. this could be a one-off a, isolated, idiosyncratic story. stuart: djt is doing, what, it keeps going up. >>st the up 140% in the last month, stu. so there is an interesting story from the platform trader oasis. they said if donald trump win, the stock to goes to 70. if he loses, the stock goes to

well. particularly in swing states. so renters in those swing states on average earn 17% less than they need to afford the typical apartment. so they are behind the 8-ball there. rents stay high because it's hard and expensive to get into a home. take a look at this. the median home sale price in arizona in 2020 was $297,000. in september of this year it was $443,000. in that time, that means prices have gone up nearly $150,000 for a home. michigan has also seen a big runup from $184,000 to now $266,000 for your median home there. both campaigns are focusing on this issue because it is temperature of mind for voters. harris is promising that $25,000 for first-time home buyers the help with down at the same times pushing a plan to build 3 million new housing units in 4 years. although we have not gotten details on how she would exactly get that done.

trump has said he will create tax incentives for home buyers and builders and cut unnecessary red tape to allow for building, also opening up federal land to make more land available for residential construction. he also pushes that by reducing inflation and stopping illegal immigration, it will help with housing availability and will also lower housing costs. i mean, look no further than the latest home sales to also understand how bad things are. sales of existing homes in the u.s. are on track to be the worst that we've seen since 1995. prices are high, mortgage rates are high and continue to go higher again despite cutting rates back. so, yeah, it's really bad in the housing market, and voters are feeling it. stuart: however, kenny, you're a florida guy -- >> i am. stuart: have you started to see home prices actually come down? >> not along the water, but when you go inland a little bit, right in they are way overbuilding in the port st. lucie, stuart area.

so there's pressure on the housing prices, and you're actually starting to see the prices tick lower. the fact that mortgage rates are actually ticking up after the fed cut rates a month ago is very also concerning for a lot of home buyers. stuart: i just don't see how home prices could actually come down that much. >> when they overbuilt -- like in port st. lucie, they overbuilt. right? the infrastructure can't handle it. stuart: that's a e especial case. >> agreed. >> we really do need more houses to come on line, and we do need mortgage rates the go down. stuart: i'm not sure how we're going to get more houses built because local regulation will just not let you build very early. >> and i don't know how you're going to get mortgage rates to come down if the bond market is telling us it sees inflation. >> so i'll never own a home. great.
