interesting and something we'll be talking about a lot in terms of the reach of these endorse -- bret: i'm struck by the final, the final ads where he -- martha: they were excellent. bret: -- they talked about ending with the assassination attempt in having fist in the air, the iconic image in the fight, fight, fight and it worked. >> toughest son of a gun i ever saw. whatever you think of the guy, you have to admire that. the adversity he has faced in everything we have seen in other presidencies and political figures going through all kinds of trouble. they pale in comparison to what he has been through. maybe it is time for his enemies to stop it. >> the energy he has is truly amazing. he is the energizer bunny.
2:01 am
let's check in at trump headquarters in west palm. this has been a big night all night long. i'm sure it's really getting fever pitch now. >> a big night. a long campaign for the former president, for all of us. the press core that have been following him around for more than one year. the crowd went absolutely nuts when fox news called it here. people were hugging each other, high-fiving each other, people were faced tithing. i think they just could not believe that it happened tonight and they would not have to wait days and days and days. we are waiting the former president to take the podium as his running mate vice president elect jd vance. we were told they would come out as soon as the election was called. we asked for two minute warning. i don't know if we will get one.
2:02 am
hopefully, we will see him soon. adding a little bit of a perspective. when i came to congress three years ago, talking privately with many powerful republicans who did not want to see the former president back in washington and then to see the legal battles that he went through and republicans having to stand up for him, then he went through the primary process as kellyanne conway said he earned it state by state by state and then came back to washington in the spring and went to the rnc and claim the nominations. this is the greatest comeback that i've ever witnessed personally myself. i look forward to seeing what he says to the country here tonight and to us supporters. >> the harris team is now texting to say vice president harris will speak tomorrow and that will be her response to the election results. that is all we have from the harris team. from a pr perspective.
2:03 am
>> i think that it is a shame. john kerry did this to george w. bush in 2004. you work so hard and i know that they are disappointed, but you should concede and let your opponent have their election night and let everybody that is there at mar-a-lago -- where are they? paul beach. let them have their moment. well, yes, we know we want, but we have to wait until john kerry concedes and then we have to come back in the next morning and get that moment. i do not think that it is right. >> there could be a phone call tonight, but she will not speak publicly. >> if there's a phone call they have to make a public and nobody needs to hear from her. if i were her, i would do it tonight. >> get it over with. >> people were already there.
2:04 am
collect the moment. >> they were holding out hope that the bluewater could somehow come together. it will be a redwall. >> 90 minutes before that told to go to bed. >> 90 minutes before all of this the harris campaign person said everyone can go to bed and we can come back tomorrow. >> she did not even address her own supporters. she did not talk to the people assembled there four hours for her. it just seems very ungracious. it was a very bad split screen. they are filing out and he has expanding and they are all excited for him. i think kamala harris is a sign of the times but i think trump is a metaphor for the country. when he says we don't surrender, fight, fight, fight, we get back up. another thing i want to say as a
2:05 am
trump supporter may be a flawed human being, getting a second chance as big as this one. i've got to believe the man that i know will work with a certain energy to get things done very quickly. the second order and the congress and the governors, no one gets a second chance this in their lives and just put it on the shelf like it's a trophy or goldstar. he will use it as a platform for good. i think he will do even better. these celebrities, these athletes, he has job creators and innovators. he has people who make stuff. the american success story. he will bring them aboard. >> vice president harris has encountered the van buren curse. the failure of the vice president to get to the presidency. only to have done it. george h.w. bush in 1988.
2:06 am
the question is, what the republican party looks like now. it is a multiracial party to your point, it is working class. maybe it is the future. it is elon musk and joe rogan and podcasts. there is an opportunity on both parties to realign and change. >> there will be a lot of conversations that go on to that and. as it jd vance? does he pick up the torch after a four year legacy defined term with the success that kelly and is describing. is it jd vance that takes it up? knocking 1000 doors on minutes. i have no reason to doubt that. does it matter as much as podcasts as much as real authentic viral moments on
2:07 am
president trump on the garbage truck or at mcdonald's. these viral moments that caught the attention of the nation. it is a broad coalition. it is an exciting coalition. president trump manifests that workingman agenda, no tax on tips, limit on credit card interest rate that is a working man's agenda and if you make that happen in four years this party may look like this for quite some time. >> i am struck when you're talking about the authenticity part of this. when i think about him with the french fries at mcdonald's and standing up with blood on his face, fight, fight, fight, you cannot fabricate. no consultant can create those moments. those are organic and they are authentic. i think that is something that kamala harris felt really far short on in terms of the authenticity measure. >> if you would have told me that a billionaire from new york

would be able to connect with middle america, i would have questioned that the to my friend , the gentleman from tennessee, it is all painful especially when the patient is still alive. i wonder what the democratic party will go through the next weeks and months. this was a loss that i don't think anyone saw coming, not to this magnitude. what does it look like if you are a democrat? it is painful, but you have to have one. how did you lose and how did you lose this soundly? >> joe biden had not long, clung to the job, clung to the nomination with a lot of help, they could have had an open nominating process and had a more attractive nominee. more free to walk away from item policies and have a better shot. that is the easiest, simplest

solution. >> i don't think you can passover an african-american female, which is a very loyal constituency for the democratic party. >> but if he had left the office and she had run, she would have been put through a different process and what at competition. >> who would have run against her. >> you have a democratic party that is pretty old. nancy pelosi and chuck schumer and joe biden. >> andy bashir, josh schapiro. >> that is not the progressive democrat that wins in a primary. >> we nominated bill clinton and barack obama. >> in the old days. look, tonight, what happened this evening and what is happened over the last year has been described. there were those on this panel that did not believe that this resurrection could have occurred if this can happen, things are

possible in politics if you are willing to change and willing to have courage and determination. whatever democrats or anybody want to say about this guy that has been elected our president, he personifies her courage and determination and persistence. you are asking a serious question. i think that that will be part of the answer. we have to look long and hard about whether or not the wavy campaign sometimes with identity politics at the end, is out the right way to do it. you have to get a purpose and a message. we will get there. we have a long history of figuring these things out as a nation and a party and we will figure it out this time. >> the carnage each got a lot of attention at the inauguration. >> oh yeah. >> this speech -- we are actually told that the teleprompters have been removed from the stage. we could be in for a long haul here. actually, we don't know.
2:11 am
[laughter] he has coming, but there may not be teleprompters. >> the other night at the al smith dinner he was upset that there were teleprompters because he does not want to use them. >> dana, what does this speech look like? >> this one right now? look, i don't know. he is one of the most unpredictable people, too. that is why we are all here. i've been awake for 24 hours now i was not just thinking about this speech, i was zinke about the inauguration speech which would be eight years since carnage. he has a wide range of the types of speeches he can give. even within a speech there is range. the rnc convention, it started off with oh, wow, yeah, yeah. he is still talking. then i got off script. if you look at these people who would take off work, drive

somewhere in the middle of the night to go and get in line to wait for hours to then stand at a rally for hours and part of the things he has done as well is created this camaraderie amongst people so you could go to a place where you are not afraid to wear your red hat and say i am not the crazy one, i am not the only one who thinks a way that ideal. i can have friends. that does not mean there should not be outreach to the other side. love thy neighbor, i love all of that. i kind of want him to take a victory lap tonight. i don't think this is the moment for unity especially when she will not even concede and give it the night to celebrate. >> the popular vote, he is still up. >> he did run up thes in place as i was looking at, rural counties in pennsylvania. when a nearby significant double

digits. i think running up the totals in florida which was a swing state not that long ago over 1.1 million votes or so, this is , look, i think when the democrats take a look at this candidacy, it will not be that you have too much time, not enough time, just a flawed candidate. i'm not being mean or partisan, i don't know why the country whatever awarded this candidate with the big job when she could not make the case what she does as vice president that affects our lives in a positive way. she was given the opportunity. i personally would like to thank the women at the view tonight. for having her on. opera. we see you. people thought they were doing her a favor because they measure something she has not. it is the opposite for trial. they make him something he has now. take that one word, that one line, cherry picked this that and the other.
2:14 am
you hear you see a blue dress, i see a yellow dress. we are all saying the same thing that is donald trump in this country. looking at the same exact person and they see two. i am a little worried about the reaction of the democrats in the kamala people here. i am very worried. i think there are a lot of unhitched people across the political spectrum. we gave very little to how many anti-kamala voters are out there i don't want to hear racism in sexism. we were listening and watching her. i am very worried that we have not talked a lot about how violent people may be and angry because she lost. i am afraid of that. >> i can just imagine, thinking about the view. a week or so ago, they were
2:15 am
saying, you know, what is wrong with someone that would vote for him. >> we were not raised like this. to raise these people. i can only imagine what tomorrow will look like. >> i will say when we talk about the view, we mention the carnage speech that president trump gave at his inauguration. in my mind and went to the unity speech that biden gave. he mentioned unity half a dozen times. what we got over four years there was the garbage comment that did not come in isolation, all kinds of comments, neanderthal was one of the first he used. the market cuban helmet. as mean as some of resident donald trump's tweets have been a people problems with that, wanting a child democrats to find is one of him discharging the country, half of the country that is something he has not done. i expect to hear unifying tone in a very successful presidency
2:16 am
and one untethered from the things that were holding him back. what comes to mind is an oval office meeting where doctor felt she was urging him not to open the country and i watched president trump. i think a donald trump that goes with his instincts will be a trump that ultimately needs a very successful country in the second term. >> joe biden mentioned that you -- the word unity than any president. if he is serious about that, he will pardon donald trump. he will also pardon his son. he will put pressure to end this we need a justice system. the lady needs to wear a blindfold for reason.
2:17 am
>> absolutely. we need a really solid attorney general. john radcliffe. sorry, john. [laughter] i apologize, sorry. >> a lot of talk about cabinet members, secretary of state, secretary of defense, jeff tom cotton, mike pompeo. >> you have a republican bench. the democratic party is quite old right now. there is not a great bench although there are some. when you take governors out of states, you leave a hole and then you have to build that bench back up. the republican bench is pretty strong right now. >> you see doug and vivek ramaswamy, steve wynn and his lovely wife. people are there waiting for the former president. britt would like to know where he is. >> he is watching us. [laughter] >> can we say tonight, harold,

that the melting pot still works hispanics, black americans, working-class americans, standing up asking what their government will do, asking their government to see them in their concerns, that it works. this is american democracy in our republic it working. >> the final count of the numbers in the coalition that president trump one with this time, i think it will be one that will be for the history books. president bush i think got 40 plus% of the hispanic vote george w bush. the preliminary numbers suggest that the as much as we talk about the unconventional aspect of this, this was conventional also. people believed him. he resonated with voters and communities. suburban communities across the country. i congratulate him tonight.
2:19 am
i did not want him to win, but i congratulate him on his victory and wish him the best for my country. i can only hope that the concerns of that are articulated by my dear friend kelly and, that they are not realized. i hope my party and my friends and republicans alike are all label, once we get past the excitement and joy and celebration to understand what we are really celebrating is the greatest experiment to have ever come to existence, celebrating 250 years of its own existence in 2026. those are my thoughts. >> i am struck by the issue of abortion because it was talked about so much. it was presented as if you are a woman and you are not going to support her, then you hate all women. husbands, you know, were hateful towards their wives and the women in their lives if they did not support this candidate.
2:20 am
i think it just goes to show that that kind of manipulating, it does not always, it does not win people over. >> i think kamala harris was talking to us from the waist down. i think donald trump was talking to us from the waist up as well. that is where my eyes and ears and heart and brain are. she doesn't care about what is going on or cannot do the math on her grocery bill. we care about many things. just as we are not monolithic in life. we are not monolithic thinkers. they put these ballot initiatives on to try to generate turnout for the democrat in a kind of backfired. look at this popular vote. if you have 10 abortion ballot initiatives, you can vote your conscience on abortion and you can vote separately or similarly
2:21 am
for president. the presidential race was not a proxy for your position on abortion. by the way, somebody said in the statistics, half a billion dollars on ads on abortion. out of 16 million talked about. 37 million for pro-lifers. >> maybe it is just an insane amount of money. >> we spent a lot of time talking about markets. trey, at this point, 66% the republicans hold onto the house. as they are taking down the possibilities and they look at these coattails with not only the popular vote, but what could be and is shaping up to be an electoral college landslide. should he control the white house, senate and the house, like he did at the beginning of 2016, the possibility is open to a lot of things. >> i was there in 2016. we had everything but an agenda. that mistake will not be made this time. he will deal with the border.
2:22 am
he will deal with taxes coming up. there is a plan being formulated by mike johnson right now and john cornyn or whoever becomes a majority leader. the mistakes of 2016, i think we were surprised that he one, i'm not saying he was surprised but others were surprised. the other thing i remind you of, when he wanted 2016, do you recall what he said about hilary clinton? she has been through a lot. there was a lot of room to prosecute her but he said she's been through enough. i wish my democrat friends would say the same about him. drop the cases in new york and georgia. biden should not wait on donald trump to end these final cases. if you really want unity then quit using welfare to divide the country. quit using the justice system to try to win political races. >> we are still following the senate races and as we wait for

the former president, by the way , nigel they are talking in the crowd there. this is remarkable in that some of these races were not suspected to be close, expected to be close. mike rogers was a long shot. in michigan, good candidate. former chairman of the house intelligence committee. but, sam brown was left, essentially, he was not going to win. >> he was not on anybody's list, likely to switch. >> i think he is a competent candidate. >> there is sam brown right there. 8% in. >> this matters. in this cycle, republicans in senate races in particular feel pretty good candidates and giving them a shot in states where republicans often face an uphill battle. it looks like it will not just
