larry: promises made, promises kept. a lot of newcomers coming to town. mr. trump is an old newcomer himself and they are going to do some serious house cleaning, and corruption cleaning. you can count on it. and speaking of corruption cleaning, and house cleaning, i guess that it's elizabeth macdonald up next. liz: it sure is, larry. i'm right here. larry: there you are. liz is in charge. liz: do you think joe and jill biden voted for kamala?
5:01 pm
larry: i think joe and jill biden voted for donald trump. that's what i think. liz: that's it. i think hunter and his dog major voted for trump too. just kidding, larry. good to see you. larry: trump is bringing the country together. liz: he sure is that's right. so funny larry good to see you thank you so much. welcome to the "evening edit" i'm elizabeth macdonald. >> it is now clear that we've achieved the most incredible political, hey look what happened. is this crazy? every citizen i will fight for you, for your family and your future. every single day, i will be fighting for you with every breath in my body. >> [applause] >> i will not rest until we have delivered the strong, safe, and prosperous america that our children deserve and that you deserve. liz: okay, the trump transition, full steam ahead.
5:02 pm
people are in an uproar mad about his picks, but they don't get is trump is positioning himself to be the teddy roosevelt of our generation. both were reformers. both were hated by politicians. both broke up corruption. it's about reform. and did you notice this? trump picked matt gaetz as us attorney general after he met with joe biden in the white house. in moments texas congresswoman hot off her landslide re-election, she and willowing and america's doctor, dr. siegel with his expert analysis on trump picking rfk jr. to run hhs to make america healthy again. also this story. >> this is the last chance we'll have at saving this country. we'll try to get you out of the senate too. liz: senator tommy tuberville laying down the line. he told us to get in line with trump's cabinet or get voted out. mark simone is here to react to
5:03 pm
that. also this story. >> we will of course keep men out of women sports. >> we will end the insanity of men in women's sports. >> no men in women's sports. >> [applause] >> when you talk about having a biological male compete with their teenage girl, in competitive sports, americans are saying foe no, no, no. liz: will he try to do it in his first 100 days? the game changing women's sports advocate who started it all riley gains is here with us to react also tonight nancy pelosi gets a big four pinochios from the washington post. find out for what and an illegal migrant gets real telling cnn he would still support trt deporte. tonight, the remarkable reason why. bu the breaking news trump picked rfk jr. to head health and human services, democrats have been tearing into his picks for days
5:04 pm
now. florida senator marco rubio gets bipartisan praise as secretary of state. look whose here, aishah hasnie is all over the story. comes to us live from west palm beach, florida. good to see you. reporter: the rfk jr. to hhs is not a total surprise. the president-elect said several times on the campaign trail he would want rfk jr. to have some kind of role in healthcare he would let him go wild on healthcare and rfk jr. very recently had been on capitol hill testifying during a hearing, a congressional hearing on food and safety and we are still waiting on a couple other key cabinet choices and that includes financial picks like treasury, commerce, and labor. trump just announced earlier today a name not working with him and that is jamie dimon. he says that i respect jamie dimon of jpmorgan chase greatly but he will not be invited to be a part of the trump
5:05 pm
administration. i thank jamie for his outstanding service to our country. now, trump did say the same thing about nikki haley right after the election, but today, she revealed on sirius xm that trump's inner circle did approach her and asker had if she wanted a job and what job she wanted. she eventually said no. as for press secretary that's a big one, a public-facing one, alina hab a is out but karoline leavitt is being floated and trump was singing along with elon musk at mar-a-lago, who hasn't really left his side since the election, and speaker mike johnson will be joining him here in palm beach as well. they are headed for a gala tonight, america first policy gala and it might be in the room when more of these decisions come down the pipeline. again a lot of these decisions have been affecting the house chamber directly. liz? liz: thank you so much, always great reporting from you appreciate you so much.
5:06 pm
>> you know, even the republicans know who he is, and it's, again, we all know what the democrats are going to be. >> this is a crazy pick. a dangerous pick. liz: that was john fetterman and cnn legal analyst elie hoenig tearing into representative matt gaetz as us attorney general. gop senators including susan collins, lisa murkowski lining up against it. joining us now from house ways and means congressman beth van dine who won her election by a re-election by a landslide. congratulations, congresswoman. this is shaping up as one of the most intense fights in senator history. did you notice this detail that trump announced matt gaetz right after he met with biden in the oval office? what does that signal to you? >> look, all i know is that if you think about the picks that trump has made, he is trying to shake things up.
5:07 pm
this is not business as usual. he has already said he's going to come in. he's going to drain the swamp and i think what people are being critical about is he's not picking safe picks. he shouldn't be picking safe picks. there's a lot of work to get done and look at matt gaetz and what he wants to accomplish. when you look at the radical weaponization, that our federal law enforcement has had, how they have denied looking into the biden administration, how they didn't legally look into the biden administration when they had the chance. how they have had whistleblower after whistleblower come and say what's really happening in that bureaucracy needs to be investigated and donald trump is doing the right thing and putting people in places where he knows they are going to investigate and they are going to be radical and they need to be. liz: senator chuck grassley told us if they do it to trump they could do it to everybody else. >> it's true and they did it out front, right? in the public doing it in front of everybody. not expecting anybody to actually raise their hand and say this is wrong.
5:08 pm
stop. so it's in full public view. liz: we've got andrew mccarthy wrote in the national review, a foolish choice the senate won't confirm gaetz. let's listen to senator lindsey graham with shawn hannity and wh what they are saying. >> he won the election. he deserves a chance to pick his cabinet. i am predisposed to allow him to do that. i think matt gaetz is very bright. i think he's qualified. he will have a hearing and he will have some tough questions to answer, but to every republican, please follow process to give president trump the ability to pick the people he thinks can do the job and give matt a chance. >> what about matt gaetz? >> [unable to hear] >> i don't know yet. i think about that one. any concerns about it? >> we'll see. >> do you think matt gaetz is
5:09 pm
confirmable? >> we'll find out won't we? >> senator kennedy, what do you think of matt gaetz as attorney general? >> happy thanksgiving. liz: [laughter] not really responding final word, congresswoman. >> look, i think let the man have a chance. listen to the hearing, allow, ask if you've got questions ask questions. that's the whole point of having that process. i'll tell you some of the ones i'm really looking forward to is getting john ratcliffe in there doing a fantastic job. i've worked with john. he was a us attorney and he is a boss and what i'm really most excited about is tom homa nfl as the border czar. we have seen the destruction as a result of the illegal immigration, and policies of the biden administration. it is a new day. we have a new chief in charge, and i think tom homan will do a wonderful job. liz: yeah, a lot to clean-up. congresswoman congratulations again good to see you. >> great to see you. >> this is the kind of guys
5:10 pm
that you just smack. we've got to lock him up. >> what in your view constitutes the primary threat to freedom and democracy at home. >> donald trump. >> he's willing to sacrifice our democracy. >> donald trump is a great threat to our democracy. liz: okay that was biden and pelosi saying trump is a threat to democracy. lock him up. looks like the lawfare attacks were the threat. they are going away. jack smith asked an appeals court to hit the pause button, just as he did with the 2020 case. smith is about to quit before president-elect trump fires him. look whose here, mark simone. mark, thank you so much for taking the time. wat.what do you make of this bee you have jim jordan of the chair of the house administration subcommittee and oversight telling smith to preserve all records. where are they going with this? >> in the past he's been caught with all sorts of misconduct, and the supreme court has reversed his stuff.
5:11 pm
he's a fairly misleading guy. you know the pictures of the 100 boxes, they didn't contain any classified documents. in the end he found 135 documents, put that in a folder, and it's an inch and a half. an inch and a half of one box. why did he keep showing the other boxes when he knew they weren't classified documents? probably 2000 people in washington that could have been the special counsel. there's a reason they went half way around the world to bring this guy in. he's just a hit man for the doj. liz: you know, axios is reporting when you look at what he's reporting that matt gaetz is about reforming the justice department, right? gaetz will do the dirty work on controversial legal topics. biden turned the doj to a hot bed of partisan prosecutors. mark, this lawfare, lawmakers say is egregious, unprecedented. they want to impeach trump did
5:12 pm
he sat down in the oval office the first time. they blocked him with multiple probes . >> this is much uglier and its got to be stopped and that's why you need real outsiders. matt gaetz is not as cartoonish as they make him look and if you watch the video where he cross-examined merrick garland and i'm sure donald trump watched that and it's one of the reasons he's got to be the guy to do this. you need a total outsider to bust up this system and, you know, all these senators, i won't act like they aren't going to confirm him but a lot of them want something and they need a favor for a donor, somebody to get a job in the administration. in the end, they will probably cooperate. liz: you know, they went for the lawfare if you notice the timeline, right as biden's polls started to plummet, after defund the police, you know, after still pushing for government shutdowns and after banning gas cars, electric vehicle mandates. after opening up the border, turning it into a crime scene of
5:13 pm
major criminality. they started to go full lawfare attacks against trump when all the polls started to drop against them so now you've got rfk jr. named as hhs secretary. what do you make of that one? >> i understand the controversy but again you need a total outsider to come in and do this. the pandemic revealed a lot of weakness in our health system. dr. fauci, there was a lot of covering up of the origin, and a lot of mistakes were made, and just the way our food supply is handled. he will have donald trump watching over him, but i think that it's a good idea. you need real outsiders to do this job. liz: well it's a good idea to bring you on mark simone. thanks for joining us. >> thanks. >> she tried to get stars to come in during her election. she was trying to get beyonce. >> booo. >> beyonce would come in. everyone is expecting a couple of songs, and there were no
5:14 pm
songs. there was no happiness. it's just like give me my check. i want out of here. liz: okay, a major revelation. trump is pretty funny. a major revelation out of the new york times. they are quoting top staffers on kamala's campaign saying that they are "appalled and disgusted" that they are still raising money even after kamala torched through nearly $1 billion. plus, this story out of the times. big democrat donors are saying no. no to funding far left groups who want to sue and block trump, just like they did the first time. why? democrat donors are telling the new york times they are tapped out and don't want to give anymore money. we've got the details coming up. also an illegal migrant tells cnn he would still support trump even if he got deported. find out the reason why national border patrol counsel pauler paz is here to talk about that.
5:15 pm
network executives at abc are in panic mode scrambling to find conservative voices and overhaul the view to improve it. we've got the details and this story. >> [applause] liz: coming up trump is getting ready to make america healthy again. he named rfk jr. to head hhs. what does america's doctor, dr. marc siegel think about this? he is here to weigh in but first this. >> last year the state department did a grant to ecuador to host 12 drag shows. $350,000 grant to study smart toilets. a grant that was done studying colonial mexican sound scapes. a study on helmets and seat belts in ghana. liz: really? the d.c. swamp. it's now trying to rise up to

liz: welcome back. elon musk, vivek ramaswamy fired up and ready to go with their new commission to cut at least $2 trillion in waste and over-spending out of the federal government. that's really inflationary. it's hitting our kitchen tables. plus, this news. elon musk says neither of them will take a paycheck for their work. look whose here, the one and only grady trimble. he's a great reporter live in d.c. with more on this , grady good to see you. reporter: you too, liz. elon musk and vivek ramaswamy have been very publicly sharing areas where they think they could make cuts to federal spending. they're putting more than 2 million people who work for the federal government on notice. vivek ramaswamy posting on x the new presidential commission will go after
5:22 pm
diversity, equity, and inclusion roles, within the department of health and human services, saying biden's department of health and human services has gone wild on dei. he says an efficient government has no place for dei bloat. elon musk has suggested some non-government organizations that receive money from the federal government may no longer be eligible, and in an interview with hannity last night, vivek ramaswamy said another easy way to shrink the government be to force federal employees many of whom are still working remote back into the office which would lead some to quit. he says there will be some surprises too. >> we've got a long list, and a lot of this is to stay tuned for what's coming on january 20 because some of it we want it coming as a big way swinging on day one and i hope we will help unite the country by eliminating waste which is something all americans regardless of partisan affiliation can get behind. reporter: and doge is officially firing. it is soliciting resumes via

5:24 pm
joining us national border patrol council president paul perez. we appreciate you so much. that's quite a comment from this illegal alien. what do you think of that? >> well, i mean, i think he's right. he wants to see a better future, and a secure country, for his family that i'm assuming is here with him legally and so that's a good thing. it's good to want good things for your family and this country is going to do the best that it can ever be and has been under president trump. liz: paul so democrats have been accused of downplaying and lying about the border crisis, repeatedly saying for year that it's secure. it's not. it's a crime scene. it's criminality there. the washington post just gave nancy pelosi four pinnochios for claiming illegal crossings dropped under biden and they are four times higher under biden versus trump. so, what do you make of trump's first term. what do you make of that? americans are getting hurt and
5:25 pm
killed in this border crisis. democrats threat it like inconvenient truths just like rounding errors, as lethal cartels. the border is a widespread crime scene of drug and human trafficking. watt do you think? >> it's no surprise that the democrats would say that, because they have been saying that all along. they refuse to come out to the border. we posted many many republican senators and members of the house so they could see firsthand exactly what this administration had done to dismantle the policies that president trump put in place that made it the most secure border. they saw it for themselves. the democrats did not want to come down here, because they knew if they did, they wouldn't be able to lie about it anymore, because they would have known better, having seen it first-hand so i'm not surprised that nancy pelosi would say such a thing. president trump is giving the cartels and everybody else time to get their affairs in
5:26 pm
order and abandon the border because we're going to take it over again. liz: let's listen to alexis, the mother of jocelyn, murdered by two illegal alien suspects from venezuela. listen to this. >> i felt like i really helped contribute to making my voice heard for jocelyn and the fact that i had a big influence on this election this year, and i couldn't be more proud of donald trump to really push the importance of our border security. it was an incredible experience. i have never spoken with anyone from that party at all. anyone in their administration even assistance, any one of any kind of anybody from that administration. liz: i mean, paul, we saw the data 118,000 criminal illegal aliens cat crowing under
5:27 pm
biden-harris. nearly 700,000 over the 40 year period prior to them taking office. we're talking about americans getting kidnapped, murdered, raped, assaulted by this border collapse, but democrats to this day continued to down play it and not talk about it and not even say the names of the dozen killed under the biden-harris administration by illegal aliens. >> yeah, it's a shame, but no surprise. they've tried to down play it. they owe the families of illegal alien crime. they owe them an apology for not having stepped up and not having done it, and one of the things that was really disappointing is the border czar harris was a former federal prosecutor who claimed and bragged that she prosecuted transnational criminal organizations and so she knew exactly the threat that these people possessed and she did nothing to stop it. they owe the american people,
5:28 pm
specifically them, a big apology for what they allowed to happen. liz: that's a great point. paul thanks for your service to america. we appreciate you very much. thanks for joining us. >> thank you very much liz. >> joe biden and kamala harris have advocated for and pushed for this anti-woman sex-based discrimination to continue all over this country. >> boooo. >> and point blank, it's unfair. liz: okay, trump's first 100 day agenda. he campaigned on protecting women sports from the push to include biological males tonight could riley gains possibly be involved in a new trump white house? and maybe in an advisory role, riley gains is a hero to women sports athletes. also tonight a new report the liberal media and panic mode now scrambling to add conservative voices to shows like the view.

5:35 pm
talked to say its gotten, well, tedious, and boring. let's welcome to the show the federalist elections correspondent brianna lyman. the post reports abc executives are panicking over the fact the posts are too far left and it's not good tv anymore. i think that this is first an admission that it's not a conservative like they try to pretend but rather a left wing who masquerades as a conservative. but you know, liz, what's interesting, they weren't scrambling when they thought kamala harris was going to win because at the time they believed they still had the ability to set the narrative for the american public, and that they could getaway with talking down to half of the country. but what they are now realizing is that a majority of americans are going to fox news, or other alternative sources of media, and in order to save their sinking ship they have to find a new strategy. liz: you know, so we should also report new york times is also reportings msnbc, viewership has
5:36 pm
plummeted 53% since october after trump won. you know and the other thing too is, brianna, 46% of women voters went for trump. that's a 3 point improvement since 2020. so the new york post asks it's nearly half of women voted for trump at minimum the view could find one woman to represent that perspective on the show and it also quotes abc source saying, well, abc executives aren't sure how they can move forward credibly with credibility since everyone at abc is on the same side as the view hosts. >> yeah, look. there are plenty of strong, smart conservative women out there and it's not going to be just one additional person on that panel. it needs to be a two or three addition of a conservative woman because four against one fight is simply not feral though plenty of women could hold their own. you mentioned msnbc, they did see a ratings spike, i believe, because people were tuning into see the meltdowns because they
5:37 pm
treat it as a joke and the left wing media, they can make changes on the view or another show here or there, but if they don't have top-down changes from the reporters who write on the website, for magazines, for print and for tv, it's not going to do anything, because there is still this inherent bias that they aren't willing to step back from yet. liz: brianna lyman, thanks for joining us. president-elect trump is making america healthy again campaign just shook up public health and announced rfk jr. will be health and human services secretary. fox news alexandria hoff live in d.c. reporter: liz, thank you so much. you know, there was some debate over if kennedy would get picked for the secretary job or be making america healthy again in a different role within the administration but it's clear president trump meant what he said during his victory speech. >> he's going to help make america healthy again. reporter: now,hhs is a mammoth
5:38 pm
of a department including agencies like the fda, cdc, national institutes of health and centers for medicare and medicaid, even before kennedy was nominated for secretary, democrats were stirring. >> i'll just say, rfk is a crank would should be nowhere near hhs. >> we've already heard very strange things out of this administration, and we know that we're going to have to, they are going to dismantle public health. reporter: well dismantle may not be the word kennedy would use but he has reoriented federal health agencies rid them of influence of big pharma, and boost research into the effects of pesticides. kennedy also maintains he is not anti-vaccine. >> i'm not going to, i've never been an anti-vaccine. people should have choice and that choice should be informed. reporter: now, hhs operates with a $2 trillion budget which vivek ramaswamy called bloated and
5:39 pm
said will be taken on by the new department of government efficiency. liz: that was a great report thank you so much. >> thank you. liz: okay, these reports that trump picked rfk jr. to head hhs, democrats have been tearing into trump's picks. he wants to dramatically overhaul hhs, the fda, abdomen dr. fauci's agency to make america healthy again. joining us now, nyu langone medical professor dr. marc siegel. what do you make of this story? the media and the left have been making fun of rfk jr. for a long time. >> well, they are making fun of him, i used to be on his radio show "ring of fire" and he was a tremendous host and brilliant guy and environmental attorney and one of the biggest problems we have in this country is that food is medicine, and food is not regulated at all. i mean, in fda stands for food, right? but how many times have you heard the delaney clause used
5:40 pm
in the 1,950ers that says if food is a carcinogen it has to be banned but they never invoked that, liz, so food is loaded with chemicals. 75% of what's on our store shelves is ultra processed foods. it's connected to obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, sleep apnea and yes, cancer. so i'm very excited about the idea he may go after that first and second point is he may very well go after how big pharma gets a hold of, maybe a great biotech discovery, right? some little company makes, that's america. but big pharma gets it in phase iii trials, and starts provoking the fda. the cronyism comes out, pressure on the fda, and a lot of the fda still working from home, which is another thing. so the fda really needs to be pleased. it needs to be overhauled and the connection between big pharma and the fda has to be looked at very closely. liz: doctor, you make an important point. the european union says doctors
5:41 pm
over there and scientists we've got 3,000 food additives they banned. it's triple what the eu allows they allow like 1,000. so say they ban 2,000. rfk jr. wants to devote half of the budget to researching nutritional healthcare, get medicaid and medicare to cover that, so when you see him talking about that, when you hear each scientist around the world saying our food supply is literally making americans sick and what happens is we make people sick with the food supply, then we come in on the back end with drugs to fix it. that's the pipeline. >> exactly. it's a sick care system and the companies all benefit off that too, because you're going to pay more for a premium if you know you need it on the other end when you get a disease that could be preventable. we're not actually reimbursing for exercise are we? there's no tax breaks for exercise or sleeping well or eating right. it's always a pill. it's always a pill to fix some problem that maybe you didn't need in the first place and what about generic drugs by the way?
5:42 pm
they are a lot cheaper. when the fda commissioner was pushing for generics and that got stalled under the biden administration. there's so many ways we can save money here, and i think we're going to see it. liz: you wonder why dr. fauci didn't weigh in on this. dr. marc siegel you're terrific thank you so much for joining us. >> great to be with you liz thank you. >> keep men out of women's sports. >> we will end the insanity of men in women's sports. >> no men in women's sports. >> when you talk about having a biological male compete with a teenage girl in competitive sports americans are saying no, no, no. liz: we got details coming in. trump is planning his first 100 day agenda. he did campaign on protecting women sports from the push to include biological males. that push has got the nation and american families in an uproar. the women's sports advocate who fought so hard for this is considered a hear o hero, rileys
5:43 pm
is here to react and kamala harris' failed campaign wasted over $1 billion. now the new york times report that top staffers are "appalled and disgusted." democrat donors are saying no, they are tapped out, with what's happened tonight we will talk that on. she's terrific but first, we love dagen and david asman in for sean duffy. david: first of all with such a tiny little slim majority in the house, how are the republicans going to keep them all together to get the measures passed they need passed? tom hemmer is the house majority whip, going to try to keep them together. dna monica crowley was the treasury department spokesperson first time for president trump. whose going to be the treasury secretary? we dig into that and topics, top of the hour.
