amount of money and increase inflation. it's dangerous to give democrats a lot of other people's money. harris campaign spend $1.5 billion in 15 would he bees. call it 100 million a week. where did all the money go? here's is a partial, repeat, partial list. al sharpton did softball interview on msnbc. his network got $250,000. lady gaga, john bonjovi, katie perry, bruce springsteen did concerts and were not paid but support staff got $100 million. $2.5 million spend on marries' event on oprah winfrey, 50 million for the door knocking operation, 12 million on polling. $111 million to produce ads that asked for even more money, fundraising ads, $111 million. 25 million went to chair of the

pennsylvania democrat party. he had complained publicly about being left out. they paid him to keep quiet. $25 million. $900,000 for ads on the las vegas sphere. 70 million on mail. come on. that's a partial list. it's actually in full a very long list. it has to be when you're throwing around $100 million a week; right? jennifer o'malley dylan in charge of it all and frequently clashed with top democrats about how and where to spend it all. they just shoveled it out the door. just like inflation reduction act. democrat lawmakers were given over $1 trillion and became a grab bag of left wing demands that has nothing to do with reducing inflation. in phaco, it made inflation worse. arguably the harris campaign's billion spend made her less likely to be president. at stake was the democrat's ability to shape an enterprise worthy of the presidency. the voters saw it, didn't like it, and donald trump is now president elect. third hour of varney starts now.

stuart: okay. former white house prez secretary jen psaki said the democrat haves no clear leader. watch this. >> i think democrats are in the wilderness as you said before. there's no clear leader of the party. joe biden will be out of office shortly. kamala harris just lost the election. there's a lot of governors and other people that might emerge. there's no clear leader of the party right now. that to me is a opportunity because people have to decide, nobody's given it; right? seize the mantle or don't. stuart: joe, we've got aoc, gavin newsom, they're trying to emerge as leaders of the trump resistance. does the party go further left from here or try to move back into the center? >> may must go to the center, stu. that's the only way. the problem is the republicans now own the center and own obviously the right. in other words if democrats suddenly decide that okay, we're going to say we're tough on crime or we're going to be tough on the border or we're going to lower inflation by not raising

solid gain for nasdaq 157. jason catastrophe joining us this morning -- jason katz joining us this morning. donald trump wants to build a strong stock market and keep a strong stock market. would he change policy if the market falters? >> i mean, trump has been so clear about this. his self-imposed score card is, what, the stock market. he doesn't want any self-inflicted wounds, especially at the behest of one of his own policies. so, yes, tariffs could be a negotiation ploy, but i don't think he's going to bite his nose despite his face. the minute we get a meaningful downturn, we'll get one because they happen but a meaningful one will be met with a tampering of some of his approach. stuart: you see the s&p 50 500 hitting 6,600 by the end of next year. that's a 700 point gain from where it is now. what's that, 12, 13, 14%? >> not quite that high.

some odd percent. stuart: i don't do math, you realize that. but that's a significant gain on top of the gains we've had in 2024. >> certainly pails in comparison to double digit 20 some odd gains this year and last year. i'm asked by clients all the time how do we have additional gains and the answer is a few fold. number one, the markets will look through some of the short term economic sacrifice that comes with the necessity of this cost cutting that musk and company will bring to the table. corporate earnings getting a boost from corporate tax cuts and lastly deregulation will lead to innovation and it's going to lead to this boom in mna activity and that should be very good for equities. stuart: okay, the sec commissioner or nominee for the commissioner, brendan carr, taking on amazon, alphabet, meta

for cent correspondentship. calls them censorship cartel. that's not good for big stocks, is it? >> hardly should this come as a surprise to anyone. anyone that thought a deregulatory business friendly trump administration would go easy on tech are sorely mistaken. while on one hand they're going to be tough with respect to censoring free speech. on the other hand to my earlier point, they're going to encourage by-backs and going to encourage innovation merger and acquisition. they're not going to look to break the companies up. they're going to tighten the vice a bit with respect to censorship. stuart: no breakup, change the censorship rules. >> and earnings going into the stock prices. stuart: got it. jason, thank you very much indeed. a rival to spacex is known as expiration company. they're raising money to develop reusable space capsules. madison, how much has the company raised? >> they just raised $160 million. that brings the total to it

$208 million. they're using that money to develop a core product that's a reusable capsule that launches into space repeatedly carrying people and cargo. right now there's only two companies that do that, and they're both here in the go to and from international space station and talking spacex and northrup gunman. bayer based out of europe, germy, france and italy and want a source in europe considering the only two that exist are here in the u.s.. the goal is run the maiden flight to iss in 2028. most of their funding came from the private sector. venture capital firms were lead investors. there's a lot of activity going on in space right now. nations like china, u.s., and india all going out on missions. one of the most ambitious projects is the nasa-led gateway, which would be the first space station to orbit the moon.

stuart: spirit airlines, filed for bankruptcy. lid i can't recollects what does this mean for anyone that booked a ticket on spirit? reporter: stuart, there's encouraging news. anyone planning to travel on spirit airline this is thanksgiving holiday, effectively means nothing for them. the company says they'll still honor all tickets, credits and points as normal. but the analysts i've been speaking with say longer term and bigger pictures. spirit airlines moving forward and have to scale back on amount of service they're providing and scale down the fleet and have fewer planes and operation. take a stem back and consider how we got here and filing for bankruptcy protection and two attempted business deals that failed. one was with frontier airlines and that was an acquisition that frontier airlines wanted to make and biden administration blocked

i think bill march is right herd needs a critical analysis of the democratic party and what hills they chose to die on and those hills are the ones that didn't allow them to acknowledge people's pain. you know, it's like we've talked about this, people felt condescended to and wasn't just the pocketbook issues and anyone that's apparent and a parent of girls and looking at your children playing basketball or volleyball or soccer, some of these contact sports, it's a little terrifying to think that, you know, someone who has gone through puberty as a male might do more harm to your daughter than other biological females on the field. that's a parental issue. that's something that exists outside of party, but there are democrats who wanted to shove that issue down our throats to the detriment of transgender people. they actually created a harsher environment for transgendered people. stuart: they d. now listen to this one, governor jd pritzker

of illinois, he's promising to keep illinois open to transgender treatment. illinois' one of several states that encourages children to seek out the so called gender affirming care. pritzker wants to keep on doing that even for minors. that's extraordinary. >> he has a very close family member that's transgendered, and that's great. i'm glad he is an ally for his cousin. having said that, again, as a parent, i'm a little dubious of using children as experiments like we did in covid because, you know, we're seeing the long term ramifications of keeping children unsocialized and out of school, and many of them are still paying the price for that. they're ignoring a lot of data, particularly that's coming out of europe that says, you know, maybe we need to treat broader mental health issues and going straight for gender affirming care and going straight for

surgery. you shouldn't be experimenting on children like that and that could be the course of action broadly for so in children. sure, there's particular cases but parent haves to be involved. therapist haves to be involved, and we might have to take a different look at things instead of using emotional family issues to craft policy, which can in the long run be harmful. stuart: waiting for a slew of lawsuits down the road. >> they've already come up and -- stuart: they have. >> it can be heart breaking. family members need support, other family members don't need surgery. stuart: correct. thanks so much kennedy. all good stuff. the union representing the dnc blasting the party's leadership. what's this for and all about? >> all about layoffs. so they're upset because the union that represents workers at the democratic national committee are blasting party leadership following large layoffs that happened in the past several days. in a statement, the union says starting on wednesday night, permanent employees were

notified of their termination effective friday with no severance pay. dnc leadership has not said if there's going to be more layoffs, more could be coming. the union goes onto say the cuts go beyond the typical campaign turnover. saying and really pulling no punches "despite record breaking fundraising, dnc failed to provide any financial support to those who have tirelessly served the democratic party and its mission". dnc dismissed hundreds of employee this is past week and most of the people that were let go were only hired to work through the election, but some were considered the permanent employees, and they were expected to work between election cycles so not expecting to be fired. this is another sign, you talked about this earlier, that the debt from the kamala harris campaign is truly significant. stuart: spent $125 billion in 15 weeks and it's extraordinary. thank you, madison. new york times tried to debunk rfk jr.'s claims that some of

food issue. stuart: okay. we've got a new study, lots of new studies, and finds that weight loss drugs reduce alcohol-related hospita hospitalizations. it's a miracle drug by the sound of it. doctor, where's the connection between weight loss and the drugs and less drinking? >> well, stuart, we have weekly outsider segment and also a weekly ozempic segment and i'm wondering if you're trying to push me in that direction or not. i will say this, these are looking more and more like miracle drugs because semi-glue tides and ozempic and wegovy decrease hunger in the brain and delay gastric emptying so you feel more full. both effects could decrease theoretically your desire to drink or what we're calling in this study alcohol use disorder looked at over 200,000 people in finland on this. i didn't know there were over
