asked for these things. why is it a good idea now? i don't think any of the americans who voted for donald trump on november 5th were voting for an extension of the ukraine war. the american people have spoken and what i'm seeing is the biden administration trying to prolong this war, forced his hand to because as you also reported this could be taken as a nuclear provocation by vladimir putin in which case it is not the biden people who are going to have to deal with the fallout of that, it will be the incoming trump administration. ashley: donald trump has said on the campaign trail that day one he can get this thing fixed or get both sides to come to the table. is he capable of that? you just said one thousand days, this conflict has been going on. what can donald trump do that the biden administration hasn't?
12:08 pm
>> there are a range of things they could try. the biden administration has been tempered with economic measures against russia primarily for energy reasons. russia is one of the energy producers along with the united states and saudi arabia. taking them off line energywise is a momentous thing. it is huge for international energy markets but if you have the united states posturing itself to ramp up energy production at the same time, if you have confidence from saudi arabia the united states is a good friend to the kingdom of they might be more amenable to raising production. if you are in that posture which i think is very much where donald trump left us in 2,020 one, what i understand from what he said on the trail where he is headed now you can offset that, put a ton of pressure on russia, get them to the table so you have leverage over both parties and that's what i would recommend.

ashley: russia, moscow saying good you just escalated this conflict to a dangerous level but you could argue the russians bringing in the thousands of north korean troops were escalating through that move. >> absolutely and i don't want to be overly sensitive about russia's borders or anybody else's but i question the strategy here and with the north koreans, what we have is a country that is after the end of the cold war dependent on china. they ceased to exist of china cut them off so we have to assume china okayed this deployment of 10,000 troops into kursk to support the russian offensive. that's bad news for the united states just like the russian missiles flowing into yemen to support the irani and proxies under the biden/harris administration we have this collusion between america's
12:10 pm
enemies this deeply dangerous and that will be a new strategic outlook the trump administration will have to deal with. neil: ashley: do you think russia gets more territory out of this? >> that's a question for the ukrainians and how they want to come to a resolution of this. we are hearing more from them that they do need this war to wrap up and a war of attrition as we were saying over a thousand days that ultimately plays to russia's advantage. under a strong american president who does want to end the war and doesn't want to hand ukraine to russia we could get to a better outcome. specifically what those borders look like i wouldn't want to speculate. ashley: so much his been made of ukraine being able to use us missiles but they are not a game changer, are they?
12:11 pm
>> they might've been two years ago when ukraine had the momentum and was on the offensive. if you had been more concerned about getting to a version of victory you had real potential but once we ground into this stalemate kind of war that is almost tug-of-war that we've seen the last two years that is much more to russia's advantage so i don't know it's enough to change the game, russians claimed they intercepted most of them and the others fell on open areas so it doesn't like like they had much of an impact so far. ashley: we continue to follow it but there has to be a end at some point. thank you for bringing your expertise to the show. we appreciate it as always. let's get to our next guest,

crypto currency and less regulation associated with it and if that trend continues we will continue to see upward momentum on crypto currencies. ashley: it is amazing seeing bitcoin etfs generated trading volumes in excess of 500 billion. do we just go up from here? >> when you have an etf it provides easier access for retail investors to buy the actual product and they feel more comfortable when it is provided through a syndicate of a larger name. as we see more etfs pop up we are going to see more influx of people waiting on the sidelines not feeling comfortable out about investing in it, this will add more legitimacy to it. ashley: have you seen a demand for bitcoin-based investments pickup?
