see you. welcome to the "evening edit" i'm elizabeth macdonald. >> we have a man who is a seriously high iq, i'm a person that believes in high iq and his is about as high as they get. he launched a rocket three weeks ago and then went to pennsylvania to campaign, because he considered this more important than launching rockets. of course billions of dollars. elon musk. elon. >> [applause] liz: president trump, he's now at the spacex rocket launch. it just launched in texas with billionaire elon musk. it just had lift-off, successfully were going to take you to this other failure to launch. manhattan d. a. alvin bragg is accused of more abuses of power trying to keep his lawfare attack going against trump for four more years until after trump is out of office. this hush money case is already so phony and unconstitutional

5:04 pm
part-time palm beach resident himself to lead the centers for medicare and medicaid services cms. president trump is saying he wants oz to work with rfk jr. to take on the illness industrial complex. now, back to those live pictures that we have. elon musk has been spending a ton of time down here at mar-a-lago. now, president trump is on his his terf so before landing trump said i'm heading to the great state of texas to watch the launch, not only to safe good luck to elon musk and the patriots involved in this incredible project. while in the air, president-elect trump named howard lutnik as his pick for commerce secretary and he says he will lead our tariff and trade agenda with additional direct responsibility for the office of the united states trade representative. this was him talking tariffs last month. >> after 25 years ago, we had

5:07 pm
out the door is allowing now in a reversal of policy, allowing us long range missiles to be used by the ukrainians to strike deep in the heart of russia. those strikes have already begun, as of today, and russian troops are in the direct line of fire. what vladimir putin has said over the last several weeks, when this became a possibility, was that he was not going to absorb these strikes lying down, that there be appropriate levels of retaliation, and he actually said perhaps the use of some sort of tactical nuclear weapons. we don't know if he's going to resort to that but what he also said was that if this were to take place, as it is unfolding right now, that that means increased escalation is a part of nato. liz: i just want to point out the spacex rocket coming back down to earth and this is technological wizardry and genius we've never seen before.
5:08 pm
this is fascinating stuff locking into the platform in the middle of the ocean off the coast of texas. president trump in attendance. so getting back to russia. could trump boost sanctions even more on russia, on russia's oil trade, on central bank, to better negotiate and economic end to what's going on with ukraine? i mean, we know the sanctions haven't worked. they have been there since 2008 since russia invaded georgia. putin has called the teflon czar. so, how can he get russia to back down and get peace in between ukraine and russia? >> well i don't want to get in front of president trump on this because he's made it clear that the moment he is inaugurated, peace negotiations between russia and -- liz: monica thank you so much. >> okay. liz: somebody was in my ear. did you get to finish your point? >> no. liz: finish your point go ahead. >> i was just going to say president trump has made clear that as soon as he's inaugurated, peace negotiations between moscow and kiev will
5:09 pm
begin and he hasn't tipped his hand as to how those negotiations will be structured. what he has said is only interested in seeing killing stopped. when you're talking about economic tools, liz, yes, president trump and his first term, use sanctions very effectively but as you point out the russians have been able to largely evade those sanctions and emerge stronger on the other side, so much so they were able to invade ukraine and that's largely because they have been able to sell their oil even under sanction, to countries like china, that has bought russian oil hand over fist. so president trump certainly is going to have a challenge in front of him. joe biden has just made it a lot more challenging by allowing these long range missiles to be used, and i think so much of this is political, liz, where biden doesn't want to leave president trump with a bigger mess but also, that he wants to increase zelenskyy's leverage going into a trump administration.
5:10 pm
liz: okay, monica crowley thank you so much. >> you bet. >> we cannot have a local district attorney treat a sitting president like a freak on a leash, where he just is able to say that i will finish this work once you're out of office. it elevates the district attorney to a grotesque level. it also leaves this local judge as determining the ultimate outcome of the president of the united states. it doesn't serve the nation. liz: so this new development in the lawfare attacks on trump. manhattan d. a. alvin bragg wants to cryogenically freeze his so-called hush money case against president-elect trump for four more years, until after trump is president. in 2029. bragg refuses a dismissal but instead demanded a pause in sentencing for four years. there seems to be all sorts of due process constitutional problems here.
5:11 pm
let's bring in civil rights attorney leo terrell to break it down. what do you make of all of this? >> no question about it, liz. president trump is being treated like a political prisoner. yeah, you're right. you mentioned due process, speedy trial. president trump is entitled to a conclusion so he can appeal. liz? every one in this country knows for a fact this case is reversed and what president trump should do, right now, is to file a writ. take this case out of the hands of alvin bragg and this politically motivated judge whose daughter works for the democrat party. liz: this has its roots and democrats attacks on trump starting after the democrats win the house, way back in 2018. they were talking about going after trump on 85 targets including stormy daniels way back in 2018. they were doing this to throw trump in jail. trump team says alvin bragg was talking to democrats back then, way back then about stormy daniels. no confirmation from alvin bragg on that but new yorkers have been slamming d. a. bragg for
5:12 pm
going after trump. we have a suspect under arrest accused of a stabbing spree, killed three people in new york city. leo? he was previously arrested eight times. he's got wrap sheets in at least two states, new york and new jersey. new yorkers are asking why isn't d. a. bragg and the democrats interested in keeping people of new york safe? >> that's easy because the democrats love criminals. they want criminals on the street and the reason why this guy is on the streets right now, by the way, seven felonies, because he's not a political threat to alvin bragg, and this is why these people are released all the time. who pays the price? new yorkers. this guy has seven felonies and he was released. there's a systemic failure to incarcerate criminals in new york and that's the problem. by the way it's a democrat city, watt do you expect? the people on november 5 said we want don't this any more. that's why trump got electoral mandate and a popular vote mandate. liz: you know, this is about
5:13 pm
american exceptionalism too. at the same time, d. a. bragg is doing this you see president-elect trump with elon musk a successful spacex rocket launch, the rocket did come back down to the platform. it's striking technological wizardry. when you pair up and see the split screen of that, what's your reaction to this. is america back? >> america is back, and i'll tell you right now. trump has a cabinet of disruptors. elon musk, rfk, tulsi gabbard, a combination of people who only want one thing in life, to make america great. that's what they are trying to do and will accomplish. liz: leo terrell thanks for helping us out. good to see you again. >> my pleasure. >> i'm absolutely 100% going to stand in the way of any man who wants to be in a women's restroom, in our locker rooms and our changing rooms. i will be there fighting you every step of the way. liz: that is congresswoman nancy mace a survivor of rape and

sexual assault. she's getting a lot of pushback over her new bill to ban biological males from women's restrooms on capitol hill. tonight congresswoman mace is here to talk about it, about how this is a fight for women's rights. also, tonight, this story. >> saving our country, i don't got no taxes on my tips now. so thank you, donald trump. love you. liz: so, cnn was surprised why to find out young voters, gen z voters are all in on president-elect trump. coming up, you'll hear the full sound for why trump scored big with the youth vote. this is a big problem for democrats to continue to do their post-mortem on kamala harris blowing through 1.5 billion bucks not winning one swing state. plus, this story. >> do you not see the inequity? >> congress -- >> no congress established law. you have to prioritize triage and decide. liz: okay, the biden-harris fema
