but again, this will bring us back to reality. you don't want to self-destruct mexico or the united states or canada but get control of open borders and infiltration and there will be financial pain. we went through this before with 9.1% inflation and having to endure that while the rates come down, nobody has backed off on price. if you look at the auto industry is under sees because of this ev mandate, people aren't buying cars now. you can see the magnitude of layoffs taking place, $6 billion written off because of this debacle so there is a cost but the trade-off is more than fair of what we are going to get out of it. >> 10% tariffs on chinese goods above whatever tariff is on right now unless they stop the export of the drugs that make fentanyl.

to be able to get something done there in advance of the trump administration coming in. part has to be the idea to enforce it. we've seen the lebanese army keeps hezbollah away from israel's borders and they fail. since the resolution was passed in 2,006, this has never been a course, the un forces were worse than useless. i am very skeptical of what the army can do. the idf has to go back in and enforce this if we get a cease-fire. edward: the 60 day timeframe coming in, is the fact that we are talking about this is a factor of the election of donald trump, since the election it is a message from iran and the middle east in general.

lydia: newark international airport was a big travel headache for all the travelers passing through the area. what we are seeing is security just behind me. it appears the lines are moving along but the tsa said they are prepared to screen more than 18 million travelers this thanksgiving holiday week. of that would be the busiest travel season for the tsa on record. as you mentioned, we saw hundreds of flight delays at newark caused by a shortage of air traffic controllers. we talked to one traveler who heard about the big mess. >> i hate that it's an inconvenience. i was going to change my flight earlier, i wanted to stay for class. it was devastating.

ahead of thanksgiving. major winter storm is moving across the us and could impact travel plans. adam klotz, give us the bad news because this is what we do. >> the big one we are paying attention to the next week, snow moving across the mountain west, then this pesky system folks in the northeast are dealing with on its way out but certainly has slowed down travel on this tuesday. the cities in the west and cities in the extreme east, the storm that sweeps across the country's want to pay attention to. tuesday into wednesday settling itself more so in the center of the country when you get to thanksgiving and running into black friday, looking up the

disrupt thanksgiving but maybe not black friday plans. retailers having mixed signals what to expect from consumers but the national tree company says demand is strong. chris butler joins us now. last year there were supply-chain issues but not the case this year with artificial christmas trees. right? >> reporter: we had the port strike a little earlier and that did not suppress demand. demand has been middling depending on the retailer, some retailers have been struggling. we are expecting a large black friday, everything we are hearing from consumers says they will wait and make the purchases. edward: are your sales a bellwether with what happens with the greater consumer for this holiday shopping season? >> we are discretionary items, quite a good bellwether.
