you know, there's obviously talk right now that maybe she has a future in california politics and maybe that's possible. but if she does, i think it's only because california democrats are kind of out of better options, and i think that one of the important lessons of this campaign, and i don't know why democrats had to relearn it after the primary in 2019, is that the more people get to know kamala harris, the more they don't like her, the more voters get to know her that he don't like her. it's not just general election but in democrat primaries. remember when she announced in 201 she was the one to beat and everybody, every media person thought she was going to be the next nominee and flamed out before the first vote was cast and only 100 day campaign for her and they're complaining it wasn't long enough but in a lot of ways i think maybe it was too

long for them because 100 days was long enough for a lot of americans to say, you know, i don't know what she's talking about and i don't want her to be my president. ashley: next one, charlie. james carville, always good for a callout and calling out staffers from harris' progressive campaign. listen to this. >> going out on the joe rogan show and a lot of the younger progressive staffers pitched a hissy fit. you're 23 years old, i don't care what you think. if i was running a campaign and had a snout nosed 23-year-old saying i'm going to resign if you don't do that. not only would i fire that [bleep] on the spot and find out who hired them and fire that person on the spot. ashley: it's pretty hilarious and i think he's right. harris' staffers with another weak point for her?

>> james carville is right about all this and whether or not the rest of the democrats listen to him, i don't know, but they're going to have a real problem on their hands because people like james carville and other democrats in the party have handed so much of the control of the party over to these people who are listening to 23-year-old senate nosed brats -- snot nosed brats and don't know anything about anything and to wrestle control back from them is going to be very difficult to do if they can do it, and they will pay another price ting not the way it works and it's not a winning strategy.

ashley: biden administration and $20 billion short fall in irs funding and hillary vaughn at white house and what will happen if the irs doesn't get the money. reporter: ashley, irs warning if congress doesn't free up the $20 billion they're counting on, billions will be added to the deficit. treasury deputy secretary saying in could mean $140 billion ultimately added to the deficit. he says 6,000 fewer audits that the irs could do of wealthy people and 2,000 fewer audits of large corporations and irs would have to go on a hiring freeze. some in congress don't think that would necessarily be a bad thing. senator joni ernst laying out a blueprint for the --

ashley: all right, we lost hillary vaughn and went disappear into the ether. thank you, hillary. sorry about that. bring in senator joni ernst of iowa. senator, you audited the irs and found they owenearly $50 million in overdue taxes. remarkable. the government wide number of employee unpaid taxes more than $1.5 billion. how do we begin to get that under control? how can this happen? >> i spent the past summer and going to get 5800 irs employees and they're actually tax dodgers. they owe over $50 million in back taxes and most don't have a repayment plan.

so i am just utterly astounded that the irs is really concerned about a short fall if their own employees would pay their back tataxes and would have more than enough funding to do all of the proper audits. i do have a plan that's called the audit the irs act, and i do have a lot of support for that in the united states congress. this was just one of many issues that i raised with elon musk and vivek ramaswamy when i presented to them my savings, my cutting waste, fraud, and abuse across the federal government. government in order to help their department of government efficiency. ashley: well, government efficiency i say this all the time is an oxymoron. when you have elon musk and vivek ramaswamy on the case, i think people are really, really hopeful that so much government

waste can be eliminated. it's a tall task, but are you confident they can do it to a meaningful level? >> absolutely. i am very, very confident in what we call the doge so they will be able to go in, scrutinize federal government spending and waste and opportunities for us to overcome that. i have been working on what i call my squeal awards for more than a decade now. iowans sent me to the iowa state senate to make them squeal, and finally, ashley, i have the opportunity to take all of this great information, hand it over to the folks at the doge and say go after it. and i do have wonderful partners with me in the united states congress that would love to see us scale back on the waste within our federal government.

ashley: we all look forward to that. also, senator, president biden reportedly making a last minute plea to congress for $24 billion in aid for ukraine. would you back that additional money? >> ashley, it's a little too late. i tell you what. ukraine is in this mess because of president biden. now there's a new sheriff in town, president trump will take over in january, and i have aid all along we need to give the tools necessary to ukraine to win the war. we need weapons, not welfare. we don't want to see the american people forking over more of their hard earned money if we are in an endless war.

the student debt relief plan? lauren: politico reporting that he's looking to way to roll back biden's student debt relief and he wants to do so fast. 4.8 million borrowers and trying to clog that back, that would likely get tied up in the courts, but politico is saying that trump's transition advisers discussing ways to unwind what they can and remember the department of education that's the agency that administers 1.6 trillion in student loans and trump may try to dismantle them and what happens then. moving portfolio over to them for instance and there'll be changes happening and see what they can do legally.

here? >> tough to say. in fighting on spe spending and social issues like seth moul ten on women sports and it's hard to come back if they can't agree on common sense and going onset rogan's podcast as far as i know has been free and they just spent money on the wrong things and they're completely out of touch with the american public. all she had to do was sit down. i mean, look, a democrat would have struggled anyways with the economy and just nostalgia for the trump years, but there was much that she could have done and places she could have been for far cheaper. ashley: exactly. one more for you, carine, according to a new un report, majority of social media influencers share information with their followers without verifying the accuracy. another recent report says one in five people get their news from influencers. i'm not surprised by this but it

is troubling. >> yeah, it is troubling. after a year and a half on the campaign trail and all the young voters say they get their news on social media. that's troubling but it reflecting a falling trust in legacy media. you have trust right now and at a low of 31%. and there needs to be steps to bring more balance to political coverage on both sides and you have the harris campaign. all of a sudden it was this beloved poll cigs when, you know, two weeks before she started her ratings were abysmal. and i think the media will have to answer to the american public about what happened here and didn't prepare american voters for her loss. that's one part and trust is a really big issue going forward ask could help combat the social media news misinformation. ashley: exactly. carine, thank you very much. have yourself a great thanks

really popular and a lot of offerings here at la auto show. most of them aside from maybe the wrangler 4xe here and rivian's offerings and the gmc hummer ev, most of them are traditional gas powered. we've got kind of a dichotomy here because there's a lot of popularity in the off road segment and gas powered vehicles but also many ev offerings as well. hyundai debuting before the auto show, their ionic 93 row suv is an ev and others showing range of evs but there's uncertainty in the industry right now. president trump saying that he will likely repeal the $7500 federal tax credit for ev buyers. also there's questions from a lot of consumers about, you know, range anxiety, charging anxiety and peep don't know where they're going to charge their electric vehicles but all the while, california, we're

last week, don't cross that line. it's a felony to knowingly harbor and c conceal illegal immigrations. don't test us. ashley: congressman carlos gimenez from florida joining me now. how does this play out? will sanctuary cities comply or are they going to put up a fight? jowski well, they put up a fight and it's illegal then they'll find themselves up against federal law, and i would hope we would prosecute any official that is trying to hamper our ability, our efforts in order to combat illegal immigration and do what we have to do in order to comply with federal law. they want to stand in the way, then, you know, watch out because you just may find yourself behind bars. ashley: i don't care what you are, republican, democrat, independent, if you live in a city that's a sanctuary city, your safety is as risk. we don't know where they came from, they haven't been vetted

and very likely could be a criminal as we've seen. how can this policy be supported? >> i don't think it can and i'm sure the new administrator will go after the criminal element first. that's who really they'll be targeting right away so those that have already posed a threat to the united states and united states citizen and sanctuary cities that are harboring criminals, yeah, they need to step aside and let the federal agencies do what they have to do. again, complying with federal law. if you're going to stand in the way, you just might find yourself, again, behind bars. ashley: yeah, and rightly so, i think. now this one, congressman, the trump transition team is saying that nominees for the administration were targeted with violent threats, attacks ranging from bomb threats to what they call swattinting.
