a growing number of democrats are criticizing president biden for his pardon of his son. many are pointing to the fact that the president ran on and promised to build his administration on a foundation of basically an independent legal system and he said that for months, that his son's legal fate rested with an independent system of justice, but he ended up interfering in that process. democrats offering at least some criticism including colorado governor representatives greg landsman, greg stanton, among others, senators gary peters, michael ben it and peter welsh. >> i think it will become really hard for us if let's say president-elect trump decides to pardon the january 6 folks. now what do we say? it becomes really hard, because you know, folks will say well president biden did same exact thing. reporter: despite his presidential pardon, hunter still has work for his lawyers. they are petitioning federal

you know they made tens of millions of dollars in lucrative deals overseas. you know, this blanket pardon stretches back to january 2014. that's when hunter joined ukraine's burisma board and obama told biden to oversee ukraine. now reports coming in a new poll, more than half of voters believe biden was wrong to pardon hunter, that it's as big a scandal as water gate, the iran cooperate rosenstein jersey and bill clinton's affair with monica lewinsky. would you place it there historically? >> well, i don't know about historically but i will say it is insulting to the american people and it also further evidences the two tiered system of justice and also this is rather insulting to those that have suffered from addiction problems who didn't then go out and commit other felonies like hunter biden did and i'd also say two of the core tenants we have been told of the democrat party is gun control and paying your fair share, of course taxes taxes taxes, two things that apparently don't apply to the first son, hunter biden. so this throws the entire

on the dealings in ukraine, china, russia, kazakhstan, because the irs whistleblowers say the presidents son and this was never fully investigated can they crack open the national archives and get out the e-mails and text messages between the biden white house and hunter biden and his business partners? >> well potentially they can and thank you for having me, liz. yes, there's two central aspects to this. first is the political or even the moral question. democrats have positioned themselves not just in the last campaign, but over the last eight years, as sort of the morally superior breed. the group, the party who believed that nobody was above the law, and that was central to their argument about defending democracy and now the sort of self-printing elites and government and the news media they are talking helds are all sort of exposed as frauds. so, that's the first issue but the second issue you get to is whether this issue is over and what happens when a pardon is given is that hunter biden no
5:12 pm
longer has a fifth amendment privilege so he can be called for comer's committee or any other investigative committee and he no longer can evoke the fifth amendment because he is immunized by the pardon. so if one of the disturbing aspects of the pardon is the potential for self-dealing here on the part of the president, because the pardon goes back to 2014. it's a sweeping pardon. we've rarely seen the likes of and in 2014 at least according to the allegations made by the comer committee and others, is when hunter biden began an influence pedaling and a pay for play scheme in which joe biden was actively involved in his various different meetings elsewhere, so if there is an argument that can be made that the president's pardon is an effort to cover up any further inquiry into his role in the pay-to-play scheme. liz: i'll tell you something, if those shell companies were

5:14 pm
this is a selected prosecution but i would say to my democratic friends who are making this argument. where were they in the alvin bragg case, because nobody in the history of the united states, has ever been charged or prosecuted for the charges that were made against donald trump and the alvin bragg case, so that is clearly a case of selective prosecution, so you can sort of say you're for selective prosecution when it comes to trump and then make i think what is largely a factual and incorrect legally incorrect argument when it comes to hunter biden in this case. liz: really interesting thanks for your brilliant mind appreciate you thanks for joining us. >> liz, thank you. liz: sure. >> the city of chicago is out of the business of funding illegals. we are out of the business of prioritizing non-american citizens. liz: yeah, chicago residents say enough is enough. they say to their democrat mayor and city council stop using hundreds of millions of dollars of their taxpayer money to give away free stuff they do not get.

5:39 pm
what exactly are chicago residents experiencing with illegal aliens? what's happening on the streets of chicago? >> crime and chaos. it is really wild. our mayor is actually about to evict the single men from the shelters within the next few weeks so we are all bracing ourselves to deal with thousands of men that we don't know anything about. remember, chicago was the epicenter of the measles outbreak in north america this past spring because they put the children of the illegals in the chicago public schools without being vaccinated and then they spread disease throughout the city, so we're looking forward to helping our president achieve in the mission of deporting everybody whose not supposed to be here ought of our city because not only are they feasting off our tax dollars but making our children sick. liz: tell us about the crime in chicago. what crime are you talking about
5:40 pm
with illegal aliens? there's 700,000 to 800,000 criminal illegal aliens inside the united states over the last 40 years through biden. nearly 60,000 in new york city alone. i mean, the associated press reports the president of mexico just stopped two caravans of illegal aliens heading toward the us border after trump's tariff threat and canada just launched a new global campaign in 11 languages telling people around the world do not come to canada. don't make claims in canada. you know, canadians say the country admits too many so what crime are you seeing in the streets of chicago from illegal aliens? >> drug dealing, stabbing, murders, carjackings, robberies, you name it, it's happening. there was actually a mass shooting yesterday at a home that housed a bunch of them and six people were shot, two were murdered. we have people getting their back doors kicked in. we have people being snatched off the street.
5:41 pm
it is wild. the intersection of 73rd and phillips is completely out of control and the people of south shore don't deserve that, but again, they don't care because they're trying to virtue signal to the world that they are great people and that the citizens of chicago don't mind and we do mind. chicago is closed. tell everybody the people of chicago we don't have any more money for them. our children need that money. our elders need that money but for these people who pay the cartel to bring them here? now we're rewarding criminals and we can't afford that. liz: we're hearing home invasions and carjackings too. is the chicago mayor and the city council listening? >> absolutely. so the city council just showed entire world that they are definitely on our side because they denied his $300 million property tax levy. he then cut that levy in half and asked them if they were able to accept that and they said no
5:42 pm
