economic fundamentals get just got jobs today on friday it was a good report pretty benign, what was interesting, we saw an appointment take up and i think this gives the fed room to cut this month it'll be an interesting one. jack: what are you watching to the week ahead. i'm looking at inflation two things price stability and full implement you the full employment, now we need to see inflation come in right where it is expected to .6% for the headline in line with october that comes in at that level or a little bit lower the market will be fine. jack: at&t had an investor day, these are shareholders that not too long ago had to wear paper bags over their head out of embarrassment of what the stock had done for very long time now there holding their heads up high the stock is outperforming said spring, what is going on. >> a couple of things, the big message from the investor day share buybacks over sending money to money heaven remember

old columns of yours, buying directv, they spent including debt exceeded and 70 billion on all of these assets. jack: ditches on the roof are not the future of television. >> they sold them for much less than they bought them for. they are going to generate 50 billion of cash flow in three years and the new strategy take 20 billion a buy stock back in addition to the dividends. i think the message if you're not a fast-growing a.i. stock with great outlooks why don't you give cash back to shareholders. >> is a phone company that figures out it wants to be a phone company no more show business and nothing crazy but would you buy the stock. >> monica pointed out something very interesting at&t is a 40% year-to-date example from verizon by about 30 points, verizon is also phone company, no crazy strategy also huge free cash flow and trades above nine times earnings at&t trades at

i'm going to call an e-card, i love that. and then we have ones that are different. out of india, one of the analysts was talking about mrs. vectors foods shelties, biscuits and bread. it feels like a quaint fun company. it's actually a great buy. jack: it's boring but maybe in india is a great opportunity. >> at the growth opportunity is a good one. the last one i want to talk about is the bank. it's kind of boring but this is ot p bank it is headquartered in budapest, is actually the largest central european bank for both retail as well as commercial. this is something where we may see get a little bit of a boost when we start to see ukraine get into the reconstruction. jack: what about somebody who is not a stock picker is this one that you would go to an index do you that management. >> i think this is an active management kind of play, you have to be a little bit more cautious and really plant the

crypto will play a big part and what were going to do next. the second is the crypto active be proposed this is a certain percentage of the u.s. reserve will be held in bitcoin and that's what's driving the price up anything else. then we seen quietly in the background, the institutional investors that have actually made large purchases in bitcoin and put those into their holdings already in anticipation of that. this run-up will continue past the 100,000 and maybe even $200,000 per coin. jack: let's turn to a.i. massive sums being spent on ships and data centers. sometimes i hear ordinary consumers will look at the latest a.i. features on the iphone and they say no big with. as long as a.i. money being wise and spent, what are the next types of companies to benefit from this. >> you are absolutely right, the money is being spent for chips in future will be spent to the data centers in that was out of the hardware into the networking

but the real money that is being spent inside of companies and software companies and of course user companies like walmart work were, that's where we will see the results. you look at walmart, they use dynamic pricing and the ability to change the way they do logistics use a.i. and put that into use. if you look at who were taken to a wide batch which a driver adds more rise and more fares per ride in the actually joys of profitability. the companies that are starting to use a.i. will be the next way that you will want to bed and like a walmart or costco or cooper putting into used to get the other piece when we start looking at the software companies that will benefit from all of this investment just like we did on the internet we have the infrastructure, we finally put in the computing and the hardware are building out in the software companies that meet the most, the sass companies that took advantage of the revo revolution. there will be a.i. companies that will take advantage of that and they might not be the st. paul companies that we know today. jack: how do you think the a.i. race between the u.s. and china will develop.

the u.s. has nvidia the top chip designer and china claims taiwan has its own anti-one has taiwan semi that's the best chip manufacturer. who really holds the power here and where does it go? >> is going to come on two fronts, one is a chip technology and tsmc is probably the top of the world because they can get it down to the smallest chips the most dense that need to get out the door, china would love to claim taiwan in taiwanese is going to tell you that might not happen but the real story is not that the real story there might be another set of chip technologies as every single one of them back seven his pain nvidia the money to be able to get into a.i. everyone is trying to develop their own chips. the companies that can actually make it like the amazon reinvent conference they have been building their own chips and imperium to get the new chips out the door. jack: with 30 seconds and they recently wrote from day m&a rebound, tell me about the.

>> they are lining up because alina con antitrust was held up, the old point of antitrust is to protect the consumer we end up with no m&a and ipo which means innovation never got to the market, the banks are gearing up like crazy m&a pipelines can be hot and ipo like strike, by dance will be data brics are going to be out the door. jack: thank you ray wang. high profile companies are losing ceos that were meant to turn them around. can anyone fix up these iconic brands. it is now the time to buy or sell? ♪

company turnaround sales intel, stellantis, boeing, cvs, all taking a after high-profile ceo departures. we are taking a look at the ugliest turnaround attempts from this year. i wrote recently that intel's ugliest turnaround attempted to thousand 24. it is losing sharing key markets, hemorrhaging cash on factor investments. i don't see an easy fix insight but i want to hear about your pics, you can choose from the companies i mentioned or anywhere, what is the ugliest turnaround attempted to thousand 24. >> i think intel has some issues. i think you're right on that. if i were to pick i would go with cvs. i think the potential for societal harm is really the big issue for me, this is a big healthcare company they have exposure in the pharmacies all over the country but also things cvs caremark, they have the wonderful program where it's at

now for everyone, health insurance don't we all love it. none of these are doing particularly well, the ceo departed, i think these are huge systemic problems that are going to take a very long time to fix and in the meantime, you have americans that are really struggling to get access to really affordable healthcare all over this country. >> you talk about the retail is asian of healthcare i don't see happening maybe the flu shots but i don't see medical procedures happening for cvs. al, your pick. >> two years in the minors filling to sam but we know that with blowing. 2024 was supposed to be the year of alternative profit, make warplanes finally and it sounds almost pejorative or like a joke but they can keep the doors on. it'll be another year of losses, management turnover, the ceo left and people leaving in the defense business at 52 day strike it's been as bad as bad as you can think. jack: there's no other way to get a lot of people from here in the long distance, there's two companies that provide jumbo to the world, when, what are you

looking for the sign to buy. >> 38737 max just a month, that's what they're allowed to make by the regulators, they're not making anywhere close to that. when they start to approach 38 a month. >> how close. >> after the strike were about 25 a month to date. when they get closer you could say quality is improving, new ceo kelly warburg some of the changes are in effect. jack: you also mentioned stellantis, the carmaker. i have a lot of questions about stellantis including his pain over $100,000 for a jeep wagon and, when did it go over $100,000 for their struggling to sell in north america whether they have to do different? >> this goes into the category of a good old-fashioned management mess up. they jammed inventory in their dealer network, they declared buffer profits in 2023, the bill came due in 24, the ceo is now, things are terrible, this is not a good one either.

jack: go ahead. >> i'm looking at nike i know it was on your list but this is a company i was growing up this is the shoe company, that was that way for the very long time. not anymore. the company, you go out and you don't really see the nikes you see hokah or on or kid wearing crocs with socks in the middle of the winter is all very odd. crocs with socks that the dr. seuss book. >> part of the problem nike has lost its way. nike used to be aspirational used to be i want to be like mike, it's just do it, these days that's not what nike is able commercial that shows people getting dunked on, beat up, slammed to the mat and it tells us that winning is not for everyone but it's like most of us are going to be winning, who is supposed to buy the shoes, you know what's not winning is nike stock down 27% this year end down 21% a year over the past three years, the ceo is out

they brought back elliott hill who did a great job before he left in 2020 to get the top job. we will see. jack: may be nike shoes are not for you loser. the stock is not cheap enough to buy? these things take time, we have to see how hill does. the thing to get the stock we we sell china pickup, that would help a little bit give a little bit of a tailwind but they gotta get the product changed. jack: tell me something positive in a turnaround that is working. >> i like paypal is a company that everyone that is saying don't touch this is going away is obsolete, is not quite obsolete as finding new ways to reach customers and new services and at the beginning of a turnaround with the ceo seems to be doing a good job and so is. >> don't forget about ge, that could be a message on how long these things take, they read to cover in 2018, now the stock is again.

it's really never gotten that close to 2014 highs rooted bounce back quite a bit about 25% but it does look like there is more upside as long as the ceo is actually bringing about more efficiency to the company spending less and focusing on what ran this best. jack: meghan give us a stock. >> i'm going to take it out of the shopping mall and talk about a luxury space. i am picking ferrari, is an interesting company, the shares of the italian automaker up a lot over the course of this year end especially to the competitors. it definitely has a limited exposure to china, that is good news. the biggest most exciting thing coming out of this company, they have a nearly i'm sorry excuse me, for million-dollar car coming in this is going to be a big deal for them. >> is a coupler situation. i would like to take the fries from mcdonald's and put in the door handle my door fries. >> i think people would absolutely love that.
